Gwen: I was stripped of all my own desires and wants when I was married to my ex-husband. I now carry a list with me–a list that will help me choose a man that will put me first in life. Then the storm cloud of an entitled millionaire appears in my life and knocks me off my axis. This man sends so many mixed signals, my body either quakes with anger or passion when I’m around him.I’m his son’s … around him.I’m his son’s teacher and his tenant, but I find myself wanting more.
Leo:
My life is run with precision with little regard for others until a woman in crazy clothes challenges me to be a better father. She’s one of the few people that puts me in my place and maybe for this very reason–I want her more than I can articulate. With her failed marriage and list of requests she needs from her next partner, I know she’s my future. My life is less than perfect, and with it–baggage that follows me everywhere. Does she want my kind of crazy in her life?I’m her landlord and an a**hole, but I find myself wanting more.Where to begin? For starters, you must love coffee…After all, 425 Madison Avenue is the perfect place to fall in love. Each story is a complete standalone.

4.5-Stars for this must read fun, flirty & overall amazing book, Must Love Coffee, book 1 of the 425 Madison Avenue series. This is the first book I have read from Leigh Lennon and in one word, it was fantastic! I could not put it down & had to finish reading it once I started. Gwen was a little quirky but genuinely just wanting to be loved. Leo is not only a rich, sexy playboy but turns into a sweet, swoon-worthy romantic. The way he puts together his thoughts into words it tremendous, makes me wish I could find one exactly as Leigh Lennon’s penned his character. Must Love Coffee is well written & by this point I am sure you are aware of my recommendation to one-click Must Love Coffee! Personally, I also can’t wait to read the upcoming books from the 425 Madison Avenue series.
While I did receive an advanced copy, I also purchased this book and am voluntarily leaving my voluntary opinion with this review.
I’m going to admit, this is the first time ever that I’ve read the author, Leigh Lennon’s work but I wasn’t disappointed at all! I loved Leo and Gwen’s story, plus the kids were truly what made this story such a beautiful, funny and wonderful read 🙂 <3
Leo and Gwen's stories are actually relatable to real life. This does happen in real life so this story made it more enjoyable to read as the pages flew by 🙂
Here, Gwen is a young, single mother of her adorable daughter, Luna and is a teacher at a private school, where Leo's kids attend. Fate had a hand in this meeting and joining of soul-mates because once these two meet, it's like they were meant to meet and you can actually feel it in the words and the thoughts of each character, especially Leo's and it was amazing and beautiful to experience 🙂
The secondary characters were great too. Now, in this story, the secondary characters, there are some you will love and there are some you will hate but they all make the story more intriguing, funny and the author, Leigh Lennon, truly wrote an amazing second chance at love story <3
This is the first story of this new series, "425 Madison Series", which is being co-written by three different but awesome authors and I'm already excited and anticipating the next stories! 🙂
Leigh Lennon is a new author to me, this is only the second book of hers I have read but that’s about to change because I loved everything about Must Love Coffee ( A 425 Madison Novel).
This is a story with all the feels , Leo and Gwen are characters you can’t help loving and their kids are adorable with some classic one liners that only a child can deliver, it’s a story of hope, learning to trust again and overcoming the past and I was captivated from the first page to the last line.
This is book one in the series of stand-alone’s in A 425 Madison Novel and I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the residents who reside in 425 Madison because I’m sure they all have a great tale to tell, if the rest of this series is anything like this one I will certainly be one clicking the rest of this collection. I loved everything about this gem and I highly recommend to all romance lovers.
5 star Review Must Love Coffee (A425 Madison #1) by Leigh Lennon
Leigh Lennon is a new author to me and I have no idea how I have not come across her before. Being offered the chance to read and review I jumped right in with book one in her A425 Madison series and I am so glad I did.
The writing was strong and I was captivated by the story that she wove from beginning to end. Gwen and Leo were both characters that you cannot help but relate to and I found myself fully invested in the story.
It is a story of love and hope,of overcoming ones past and coming to terms with it. It is also a story that shows the reader that sometimes you have to fight for what and who you want.
Wonderful! I’ve volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is the first book in the 425 Madison Avenue series. This is Gwen and Leo story. Gwen is trying to find herself again after her divorce. Gwen is a teacher, a great mom, strong, funny, quirky, and doesn’t take anyone’s crap anymore. Leo is your typical New York businessman. He is also one of her students’ father. When Leo wants to met his son new teacher. Oh man does Gwen put him in his place. I absolutely fell in love Leo and Gwen and their adorable kids! I loved the banter between them. The two had amazing chemistry together. Looking forward to reading more in this series! I love when a book makes me laugh out loud. I suggest that you get this ONE! This can be read as a standalone. Keep up the wonderful work!
A great story from Leigh Lennon. It pulled me in all different directions one minute it had me laughing and the next I had tears in my eyes. It totally had me from the get go.
Leo and Gwen were the perfect partnership, both divorcees with primary custody of their children.
Gwen had lost herself in her marriage and was now determined that never again would she let anyone live her life for her and Leo is an egotistical jerk when we first meet him but within minutes you can tell there is so much more to him.
What enfolds is a story of merging two families and a new relationship with lots of bump along the way hoping they will eventually get their happily ever after.
A great start to the 425 Madison series and i look forward to reading more.
Freshly new from her divorce, Gwen Cane did not expect to fall in love ever again. But fate had other plans when Leo Eastman storms into her life at her place of work and makes her life miserable, or so she thinks.
Leo Eastman isn’t fond of his son’s new teacher, and does whatever he can to get her out of the system. What he didn’t count on was finding out more about Gwen, and ultimately, his feelings of hatred end up blooming into a love so strong, it hits him hard and makes him realize that Gwen is the only woman he will ever need in his life again.
Will Gwen be able to move on from her former marriage and open herself to finding a new life with Leo? Time will only tell
This was a great book in the series, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
This is a well written story of second chances. Leo and Gwen both had a past. Germ escaped a marriage where her ex tried to change her into who he thought she should be. Leo’s ex was a drug addict. They both had to learn to trust again. They got over the heaviness by having a fun. The notes added a nice bit of romance and cuteness. Their first meeting was less than ideal. Where Gwen turned her self around and made things better for her and Luna, Leo became closed off and a workaholic. His kids suffered but Gwen helped him get back to the great parent he used to be. They each gave the other something they didn’t know they needed. Leo accepted Gwen for who she was and she brought light into his life. Great start to the series.
This is absolutely one of Leigh Lennon’s sweetest books. Leigh is a go to author for me when I want a read I know is going to hit me in the feels and I still got that from Must Love Coffee, but with an extra dose of sweetness on top that made this book one of my all time favorites. Leigh has this unfailing ability to write characters that are utterly captivating and, man, did she do that with Gwen and Leo.
When it came to these two I was hooked, and I mean HOOKED, immediately. Both excellent parents. Both having escaped nightmare marriages. And both not expecting to find the other half of themselves. I don’t think either of them were prepared after their explosive first meeting. But fate definitely had other plans and Gwen and Leo were just meant to be.
I adored every aspect of their story from the reality of life that had me crying and raging sometimes to the supportive, gentle love that just continued to grow bigger and bigger between these two.
Gwen is a single mom whose top priority is her ten year old daughter, Luna. After years of living under her ex husband’s thumb, she is now free to live a fun and carefree life with her daughter free of judgment and rules. She has sworn never to let another man control her.
Leo is a single dad who spends his life working long hours at his office leaving the responsibility of raising his two children to his ex mother-in-law. He’s a man used to getting what he wants when he wants it and he never backs down. That is until he butts heads with his son’s teacher. Leo never anticipated that the first woman to ever stand up to him would be the one woman he couldn’t live without.
This is a sweet romantic tale about a second chance family. The story is filled with witty banter and laugh out loud moments that will have you emotionally invested in the characters as they experience the roller coaster of real life. I look forward to reading more from this author.
A great book and start to a series. Would be definitely be checking out the other books in this series.
What a beautiful story of second love. Gwen is a young, divorced Mother who teaches at a private school. One day she meets one of her students parents, Leo, and he turns her world upside down. But she has specific things she wants in her life if he is to be a part of it. Leo, also a divorced Father, will do what it takes to bring her into his life. I loved the interaction of these characters and not to mention the sizzling chemistry between them. This was my second read by this author, and I truly enjoyed it. Her writing style is very unique and refreshing. As I read, I hoped that Gwen and Leo would become a couple, and if you want to know, then you really must read this wonderful story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
Loved this story. Gwen and Leo took a bit of convincing, but they got there in the end. They both needed some TLC and softened each other up to get their HEA. Can’t wait for more!!
4 1/2 Stars
I really enjoyed this sweet second chance romance and the first instalment of 425 Madison Avenue. It was easy to read and I liked the unique characters, Gwen’s quirkinesses, Luna’s devotion, Olive’s brashness, Leo’s protective nature and the judge was hysterical. I found the storyline was engaging and believable.
Gwen goes to court to divorce her husband and gain custody of her daughter Luna. She’s ready to start their new life together and leave her jerk of an ex-husband behind in the dust. Sick of having her life controlled she wants to live and show Luna there is more to life than having money. Starting a new job, buying a new home, attending a new school and making new friendships. The last thing Gwen expected was to find love.
Leo Eastman owns countless buildings, sits on the board of the prestigious school his children attend. He is quite entitled and is ready to tear strips off his son Teague’s new teacher. However the little spitfire doesn’t back down in fact she rears up and gives him a piece of her mind. Leo is left gobsmacked and goes home thinking about what she said. Deciding she just may be right he apologises with a cup of coffee each day.
Such an amazing book!! Gwen and Leo are both single parents. They would love to have a partner to compliment them and fulfill their relationship. The had awesome chemistry. Leo was a hot alpha, caring, protective man and I loved that about him. Many LOL moments in this book. Great book. Cant wait to read the next book.
I was so happy to read this book. It was very refreshing. I guess I read a lot of slow burn but I loved how Leo knew what he wanted so quick in the story. I absolutely love Gwen’s personality and the way she wasn’t backing down. I thought it was going to be more push back from him but he knew what he wanted. The title totally fits the book and I love that Leigh wrote this book that way.
Great story! I’ve not read much by Leigh Lennon, but I like her. This story between Gwen and Leo is really tough in spots. It’s a great second chance love story full of romance. The hard parts really have you rooting for their happily ever after. What a jerk the ex husband was!
Must Love Coffee by Leigh Lennon
Five Stars
Must Love Coffee is the first book in the 425 Madison Avenue Series. This contemporary romance is written by Leigh Lennon. This series is a multi author conglomeration, each book is about a different resident at the 425 Madison Avenue apartment complex. This book features Gwen and Leo. They’ve met after getting out of a bad relationships, so there are some trust issues and completely opposite in nature. The story is amazing how these two come together and get a second chance to find love. I love when a book makes me laugh out loud, and this had me doing just that. This is one of my favorite books by Ms. Lennon, and it is a really great start to a new series and I can’t wait to meet the neighbors.
I don’t know why, but I truly enjoy a male lead that has to redeem himself along the way and that’s definitely what we get with Leo. I DID NOT LIKE HIM in the beginning and I loved how Gwen put him in his place, but eventually he gets it together and I started to dig him. I also really like what an individual she was and how she embraced her uniqueness and standards. I wish that I had thought enough about what I wanted out of life and from my partner ahead of time! I’m a fan of single parent romances and I liked the fact that Must Love Coffee featured a single mom and a single dad! While I enjoyed the story, there were points when the pacing dragged a little bit, but overall it was great introduction (for me) to the author. I have a few of her books on my TBR so I’m excited to see what else she has in store! This was also a fantastic intro the series of standalones – 425 Madison is such a cute setting and I can’t wait to see how the other couples come together. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
When Gwen’s confronted by an irate dad, the sassy single mom teacher gives it right back to him. After her acrimonious divorce from her asshole ex, she has decided to stand up for herself and not let anyone beat her down any longer. So when her young student’s father unfairly tries to get her fired, she turns into the irate one, and puts Leo in his place. Who knew he’d actually take her words to heart and become the father his daughter deserved? And who knew he’d be so sorry and so determined to pursue Gwen that he’d bring her coffee every day?
I absolutely fell in love Leo and Gwen and their adorable kids! I love Gwen’s list of requirements and how she slipped them to Leo, and Leo’s cute way of fulfilling those requirements. Must Love Coffee was far sweeter than I had been expecting, and Leo turned out not to be the jackass he was at first. Their story, their journey from adversaries to lovers was one of my favorite stories of the year so far. If all the stories of 425 Madison Avenue are even half as entertaining and sweet and sexy as Must Love Coffee, then we’re all in for one sweet ride as this series goes along!
