Must Love Coffee is the first book in a new series collaboration taking place in the fictional building, 425 Madison Avenue. Each book is written by a different author and can be read as a stand alone. The nice thing about a series like this is there is something for everyone in the way of romance type and author.
Must Love Coffee was an OK read for me. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. There were parts I liked. I loved the “Must Love” list that Gwen gave to Leo in the form of notes. Those were fun. I also liked how quickly Leo was willing to change and be a bigger part of his kids life. What I didn’t care for was Leo and Gwen as a couple. I just didn’t feel the connection between the two of them. For me there was zero chemistry. Their love scenes had some cheesy dialogue and took away from what could have been great scenes. The other thing that drove me nuts were the Harry Potter references. But that is probably because I’m not a rabid fan of the series or the world.
As I said, this one wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t totally for me. I look forward to exploring the rest of the series.
I love this book. It is short, 150 pages but there is so much to love about the characters, the setting, and the story.
Gwen, a teacher to 5-year-olds, is moving on from life with a jack-*** husband who controlled everything from what she ate, where she went, what she wore, and what she did. She isn’t really looking for a new relationship but when sparks fly after a meeting with a student’s father she can’t seem to let it go. Everything about her is amazing. The fact that she is willing to give up everything to keep her daughter away from her father so that she doesn’t grow up feeling like she did when married with him. I love that she stood up to Leo, the father of a student when he accuses her of not doing her job. It was amazing that she had a list of things her new relationship would have to do to win her over.
Leo is trying to find his way after his ex-wife’s drug abuse became more important than his family. Gwen wakes him up to what is important and I love that his goals change. He becomes someone his kids are proud of and someone who is important to his friends and family. He still works hard, he still is successful but now he realizes that there is more to life than making money. Leo opens his eyes, his hearts, and his soul while winning over Gwen and showing her that all rich guys are not controlling.
Must Love Coffee is the first book in the 425 Madison series. Leigh Lennon wrote a great story about love, forgiveness, and finding happiness. I am excited to see what the rest of the authors will do with the 425 Madison setting.
OMFG!!! UNBELIEVABLE SWOON-WORTHY!! Leigh Lennon Did it Again with MUST LOVE COFFEE!! I LOVE Leigh’s work and her World of Words!! And let’s throw in Harry Potter in the mix along with small kids that Have Not Filter!! Once I started reading Must Love Coffee, it was Hook, Line & Sinker and devoured it in a Day!! Page after Page of Emotional distress and Heartwreching Aches that will Leave you hanging and wanna know what was going to happen next!
Gwen and Leo story was such an EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER ride and there were times that I wanted to shake some Sense into Some people! Gwendolyn Ambose is a strong, Harry Potter nerd and kick ass Mom/ Teacher! After her marriage didn’t work out, she vowed she will Never settle for Less than What She & her Daughter Deserved. Enter in Leo Eastman, a powerful rich man thinking that he is invincible but until Gwen gives Him a Piece of Her Mind after He Threatens to fire her. But once Leo’s underbelly is exposed, there is No holding Back!! The chemistry between the two characters are Off the Charts Hot and Entertaining at the same time.
MUST LOVE COFFEE is Beautifully written and a MUST READ BOOK!!!
Plus I am definitely looking forward to read more of this 425 Madison Series with Other Amazing Authors!!
I adored this book!
It was sweet, it was sexy and made me swoon.. it was also full of emotion and learning to not settle for anything less than deserve.
Leigh definitely had a knack for writing stories that you forget you are reading, you feel like you are right there feeling along with the characters.
A must read!
I loved this romance story. Gwen is really funny and loved her smartass comments to and about her ex husband, who is a total tool. As for leo, finding a woman who is smart, sexy and sassy but makes him see life in a new light brings him of of himself.
The sad factors of this tale is that they both had to suffer at the hands of previous spouse’s, but the love for their kids made them solider on. A ready great read.
This book was so incredibly good!! I found it impossible not to fall for this charming story. Gwen and Leo were amazing, realistic and absolutely lovable characters. Gwen was sassy, unique, fun and very firmly determined to not repeat her past mistakes. Leo was true book boyfriend material. He was a bit of a jerk at the start but Gwen quickly had him seeing the error of his ways and I adored how he knew Gwen was the one and how determined he was to woo and win her. The chemistry and heat that these two had and generated was off the charts. Their scenes were also very sweet, cute and funny. The plot offered drama, heartache, angst and deep emotions. Both these characters had painful baggage and scars from their previous marriages that had to be overcome on the way to a HEA. Their kids were scene-stealers and made my heart melt. I love this wonderful romance between these two battle-scarred people that so richly deserved happiness. This book also introduced you to many secondary characters that I assume will get their own books in this new series and I’m totally looking forward to each one.
An amazingly beautiful and well written second chance love story of two single parents that have had bad experiences with their ex’s. They have hilarious banter and amazing chemistry that they try to take slow, but it was to over powering. Leo and Gwen are relateable and great and are accompanied by interesting great secondary characters and awesome kids. Their are bumps in the road but this sweet sexy story brought me smiles, laughter, heartache and heat with little drama making it a truly entertaining addicting story from beginning to end. I voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC.
Very good romance to not repeat the same mistake twice
I loved this romance of second chances for two characters who should not have met.
The character of Gwendoline who takes her life in hand is excellent and inspiring on how to bounce back after being manipulated for years and after getting lost under the control of her husband, from her ambitions to her clothes. She regains confidence in herself, and is never naive, defeatist, but on the contrary combative. The first chapter is a twist that forces Gwendoline to stay in New York and take a job as a teacher in a classy school she could not have worked normally.
When she has an argument with the headborad director, Leo, because she thinks that he doesn’t really help his son at home with his homeworks, and him accusing her of being incompetent, their whole life will be changed.
The character of the ex-husband is quite unbearable but perfect in his role of manipulative lawyer.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
What a phenomenal read that gave me all the feels. Leo is set in his ways, doing what he feels is best for his kids when Gwen comes into their lives. The build up, the feels this book encompasses it all and just left me feeling lighter and full of hope and smiles
5 Fun, Sweet, Swoon-y Stars!!!
First of all….where can I put my order in for my very own Leo Eastman?? Honestly…he is THE REASON I read and love this romance genre. The jerk with the gooey-marshmallow center. All he needed was to meet the quirky, strong-willed Gwen Ambrose.
This story has it all! Great pace. Sweet & Swoon-worthy chapters. Believable characters you want to meet in real life. Lots of awesome Harry Potter references! Sexy scenes with some delicious dirty talk.
If all of these 425 Madison series books are this great…I’m in for an awesome year!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book….and Leigh Lennon is a new to me author…how lucky am I????
4.5 Stars
What a wonderful read that was romantic and sweet, with the right amount of heat, that delivered a happy ever after that left my heart happy.
Gwen was such a refreshing heroine. She’s finally living her life on her terms, no longer under the thumb of her ex-husband. She’s determined to stay true to who she is and has made a vow to never allow another man, or person, to change who she is. Her world revolves around her daughter and she’s doing everything she can to ensure that her daughter won’t make the same mistakes that she has.
Leo is going through the motions since his divorce. He’s focused on work and ensuring the future for his children, but what he doesn’t see is all that he is missing out on with his kids by not being present…that is until his son’s teacher lets him know in no uncertain just how badly he is doing in that department – and opens his eyes to just how absent he has been for his kids.
Gwen and Leo were perfect for each other, and the “Must Love” notes added so much to the story. I loved how Leo made romancing Gwen his priority, always having just the right response to each of her notes. There was a great buildup of tension between these two, but once they do get to the sexy times they could certainly bring some heat to the page. I loved how down to earth they both were, keeping things real and minimizing the angst that could have taken over at times. And even when Leo’s ex-wife and Gwen’s ex-husband threaten to come between them, both Leo and Gwen follow what is in their hearts, and find their way back to each other without too much drama.
The extended cast of characters helped bring Leo and Gwen’s characters to life. Their children were written very well, right down to the sass and attitude you would expect from the girls to the precociousness of Leo’s son. Several other residents of the 425 Madison building were introduced, and I am really looking forward to reading their stories in this series. I wasn’t a big fan of either of the ex’s, but they served their purpose in helping to tell both Gwen and Leo’s story.
This was a great start to this series of inter-connected stories by various authors. I think it set the perfect stage for the other residents of 425 Madison and is definitely worth checking out!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Leigh Lennon has done it again, she has given us readers another fantastic love story!!
Gwen is a beautiful, smart, quirky with a splash of sass who will do anything for her daughter and the ones she holds close. After her divorce for her jerk of a husband, she makes a list of must loves that she wants in a partner but what she wasn’t expecting is Leo Eastman.
Leo is know as an a$$ to just about everyone. He works hard so he can give his kids the best future possible but when he meets his son’s new teacher for the first time she totally shocks him and in a good way.
I absolutely loved how these two found there second chances at love with each other. I was laughing a lot with there banter and smiling from ear to ear with the love they not only have for each other but there children as well. I will forewarn you, you will need tissues for some parts of Leo and Gwen’s story!!
Must Love Coffee brews up the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Amy sees herself as weak. Living with a broken heart and a shattered spirit has forced her to take a look at her life and find ways to make it better. The ultimate test comes when she meets Mr. All Wrong. Her body wants him, but her heart is wary. Leo pushes her to see the woman she’s meant to be and shows her just how strong she really is. Leo and Amy are a temptation that warms the heart. Deserving of more than 5 stars.
Outstanding! I could not put it down! Laugh out loud humor and excellent characters! Excited to see more of this series! I read an arc copy of this book.
This book caught my attention when I saw the cover and man am I glad I read it! This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last.
Leo is use to getting his way. When Gwen puts him in his place about his son’s school work he has to take a look at himself. Once he breaks down the barrier with Gwen he realizes what he wants in life.
Gwen has been trying to keep her daughter safe. When she meets Leo he is not what she had planned. But life has a way of changing the best laid plans.
The chemistry between these two was great! I loved them together!
I love interconnected stories and look forward to reading more of the people who live at 425 Madison.
This book is great. You will need to bring lots of tissues because you will be laughing and crying.
Must Love Coffee by Leigh Lennon is book One in the 425 Madison Series. This is the story of Gwen and Leo. Gwen is a divorced, single mother who is a teacher. Gwen has gotten away from a bad marriage and is set on not letting a man take over her life again. So she is focused on her child and her students. Leo is also a single father who is rich, somewhat arrogant and has pulled away some from his kids. When he goes forward to have a confrontation with his son’s teacher he gets blown away by Gwen. Gwen doesn’t hold back her mind with him. I really loved the dance in their story. I can’t wait to read more from this author and this series!
I am so excited for this series and all it will have to offer because I have only read one of the authors that will be releasing this series. Just this title Must Love Coffee is striking enough because of my new found love for coffee!
With so many emotions going through the first couple of chapters with Gwen’s divorce and her move I was in awe of her ability to just dive into her teaching and give her all to her students and daughter. I fell so hardcore in love with Luna and the fact that this book has so many Harry Potter references made me shriek in excitement every time I read more and more. Gwen’s fashion and love for all things Harry Potter made me feel ashamed of my knowledge on the subject. Watching her become herself over each chapter more and more in the company of her daughters best friends dad was incredibly swoon worthy. The interactions between Leo and Gwen made me laugh so much and swoon! Leo is more than I could’ve understood from the man he is on the beginning and I loved watching him grow just as much as I loved watching Gwen.
To be honest this book, in parts, did seem like the typical swoon worthy love connection but even with that I still loved this all the same. The Harry Potter mentions, the connections they had with each other and their children, the stories of the unfortunate pasts they both have, it all came down to love and man did I love this story. I can’t wait to see where else this series will take us and I am a new found fan of this author!!! Congrats and this was an incredibly hot and exciting way to start the series!!! Way to go!!
This was a super sweet read. I loved Leo and the whole family. I would definitely recommend reading this!
What better way to start the 425 Madison Ave series.
Everything about this book was amazing from the first word to the last.
Gwen and Leo are a fantastic couple and I love everything about them and their book.
Another great for Leigh!
