Chase Dawson is back in Autre for Christmas and when he runs into brainy, beautiful alligator conservationist Bailey Wilcox again, he’s determined to make good use of the mistletoe.Enjoy this fun, sexy holiday story from the Boys of the Bayou series!
Freaking adorable! Thesr two are so enjoyable! Love their shyness, how accident prone they are and just their cuteness! Her love of alligators…I know its the job but she really loves them! The antics of the family all runnung around and keeping Bailey busy is so humorous. Even though this one is short..it really packs in a lot of great parts!
I did listen to this gem on audio. Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux do a wonderful job becoming these characters.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
We are back at the Bayou and I’m so glad we got to see Chase again. We needed more of him after Beauty and the Bayou and his story didn’t disappoint.
It was hilarious.
If you’re looking for a short listen that is worth all the laughs, don’t look farther than this.
I recommend this series!

A quick delve back into the Boys of the Bayou world when Chase (the teen we fell for when he came to town and took a joyride in an airboat and caused a ruckus) is back for a visit and hooks up with alligator aficionado Bailey. They are a lot of fun, and seeing them commit to a relationship was heartwarming.
5 Stars … Must Love Alligators (Boys of the Bayou 5) is a small town romantic comedy told in the dual third-person point of view of Chase and Bailey.

Six months after their almost kiss, Chase and Bailey are both back in the bayou for Christmas hoping to catch a glimpse of each other even though they know that they are not compatible. While trying to wrangle up the otters and keep them hidden from Bailey, The Landry’s convince Chase to keep Bailey occupied.

Chase and Bailey’s story is full of fun, family, holiday spirit, and a calamity of errors. This was a good way to catch up with everyone in Autre, if you are a fan of Boys of the Bayou, or get an introduction into the fun and crazy world of Autre, Louisiana and the Landry’s. I loved the extended edition as it gave more of Chase and Bailey’s connection, which is always great.

Audio … Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux did a great job with bringing the story and their respective characters to life.
Warm, sexy, and funny but short
Audiobook version: 4 stars overall, 4 stars story, 4 stars narration
I enjoyed this short, 3.5-hour audiobook. It is not quite perfect, but it is a worthwhile addition to this fabulous rom-com series. I loved spending more time with the wise and fun-loving Landry family. Chase Dawson is a great hero, and it was nice seeing how much he matured since he first met the Landry family earlier in the series. His lady, Baily Wilcox, is likable and intelligent. I also appreciate the continued minor theme of environmental conservation of the Louisiana bayou and its wildlife.
The novella is told from first person perspective alternating between the two main characters, Chase and Baily, but Chase had more chapters than Baily. There is brief but strong steaminess. The dual narration was excellent. The male narrator, Michael Gallagher, perfectly captured Chase and the rest of the characters. The female narrator, Bridget Bordeaux, was pretty good at interpreting the story, but she didn’t get Baily’s Minnesota accent right at all; it sounded like she was from California.
Three things slightly bothered me. First, I wish this book was longer, and it seemed like the author could have added a few chapters in the middle. Second, the female narrator did not get one of the accents correct, but she was pretty good at the others. Finally, the clumsiness of the two main characters when they are near each other seemed excessive after a while. By the end, it seemed too cliché and stupid. Over time these two characters should have learned how not to be that accident-prone. Still, I am glad that I listened to it. I recommend this audiobook if you find it at price that seems reasonable for 3.5 hours of entertainment.

Audio listen. Both narrators did a good job! I didn’t exactly love the male narrators female voice; too nasally, but he still did a nice job the rest of the time. The female narrator had a nice tone to her voice. Good listen!
Very sweet romance between Chase and Bailey. These two have a connection, but they tend to be accident prone together; too cute! Love all the alligator fun too! I wasn’t a fan of Chase’s ladies man past, but he is charming. I loved that Bailey took the initiative to further the romance along. They have good steam too! A good couple! Super cute, fun short romance!
Audiobook Review:
So much fun! That was the first thing I thought when I finished listening to this book. It was so much fun. Bailey and Chase may be ridiculously accident prone together, but it just added to their charm. They were just such an adorable couple. The story itself was really well written. I liked that even though it was on the shorter side, you really get to see the way the couple’s relationship was fleshed out. They spent time really talking and getting to know each other. Their relationship wasn’t purely based on the physical (the physical actually got them into scrapes and injuries more often than not) and I just felt their connection through the story.
What also helped me to feel that connection was the fantastic narration by Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux. Michael had a great accent for all the southern characters and Bridget had a great upbeat tone for this high energy leading lady. Overall I just thought it was a really good performance from them both and only enhanced the story for me.
Every one of these books I read I fall in love with this Bayou world and this author’s words even more. This book was a great example of why and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

After a disastrous firts encounter, Bailey and Chase can’t stop thinking about each other. Will they survive their clumsiness and have a proper kiss and a lot more under the mistletoe? A funny and loving couple. The audiobook is great.
This is the fifth installment of the Boys in the Bayou story. I loved Chase and Bailey’s story, it was sweet and steamy. From the moment they met they had instant attraction and I couldn’t stop laughing at their klutziness. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other throughout the story and I loved the plan Chase had for his future. I love how accepting the Landry’s are and took Chase under their wing after his mishap with the docks. Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux were both new narrators to me and I loved both of their performances.
Must Love Alligators by Erin Nicholas
Boys of The Bayou Book 5
Chase Dawson and Bailey Wilcox get reacquainted in this book.
Juliet Dawson brings Chase back to Autry to atone for his errors and you would have thought he would have been ostracized by the Landry’s but instead he learned so much from them. He found friendship with the boisterous friends and families in The Boys Of The Bayou. That’s where he first meets Bailey a girl so not his ‘type’ yet he can’t get her out of his mind.
And Bailey gets a little bit flustered around Chase too and looks for him every time she’s back in Autry.
Neither cook and both like Ghost In The Machine IPA this got my interest right away ! Kindred spirits It’s cute how they dance around one another and how they liked one another, thought of one another from their first introduction back months ago in Autry. I love how they stumbled into love with one another. Always a laughing good time with any Erin Nicholas book!
Erin says it best in this book with,
“These people were addictive…nuts but addictive; fun, irreverent, goofy, clearly loving! She wanted all of that!”
I was really involved with the narration which tailored to both Bailey and Chase’s characters so much it really flowed and pulled me into the book. Awesome smile inducing book again from Erin Nicholas and fantastic narration as well.
Chase and Bailey have a complex accident prone relationship. She’s the shy, nerdy alligator ressearcher, he’s the rich med school student. Chase is immediately enamored with her. It’s so much fun to listen to this story, how they try to maneuver their relationship without any more accidents. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story.
Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux brought this story to life! I enjoy visiting the Landry’s and the boys in the bayou.

Such a cute love story between Chase and Bailey. This is just a small taste of the Bayou craziness I’ve come to know and love. My only complaint is that it was so short. That being said, it still packed a punch in terms of romance, steaminess, and silly antics.
Came for the laughs. Got caught up in the romance. Ended up losing my heart. Short and sweet equals fun and tempting. Must Love Alligators packs tons of charm in a mini size story. Chase and Bailey are tasty blend of spice and sugar with a captivating pinch of heart.
Must Love Alligators by Erin Nicholas is a small town nerd heroine romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux.
This is the fifth book in the Boys of the Bayou series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would highly recommend reading them in order since the stories are interconnected.
I absolutely love this series! Erin does an amazing job pulling me into the storyline. I had a smile on my face through the entire book. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Chase and Bailey.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series Four Weddings and a Swamp Boat Tour to be released on audio on May 20, 2021 so I can get Mitch and Paige’s story.
Michael and Bridget did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you love small town romances, romantic comedies, or contemporary romance.

As always, returning to Autre makes me happy. This book follows Chase, brother of Juliet from Beauty and the Bayou (the titles of the books in the series makes me smile). He meets and falls for Bailey, a conservationist who is trying to find out what the Landry family is up to, with wolves, otters and of course, alligators. So funny, so full of heart, so full of giggles. It was fantastic to catch up with the Boys of the Bayou again with these wonderful characters that are so full of, well character!
I had the opportunity to listen to an early copy of the audiobook, narrated by Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux. They did an amazing job- Michael Gallagher really got into the role! I liked the emotion they infused in their roles. A great listen for a great book!

Fantastic Story & Narration Sweet & Delightful!
Must Love Alligators
A Small Town Nerd Heroine Rom Com (Boys of the Bayou, Book 5)
By: Erin Nicholas
Narrated by: Michael Gallagher, Bridget Bordeaux
You can not help but to fall in love with the “Boys of the Bayou” and yes the woman of the Bayou are pretty amazing too. Erin Nicholas is a gifted author with a way with words, I enjoy her writing style, her humor as well as the characters and storylines she creates. This book is Chase Dawson and Bailey Wilcox’s story, Chase became an honorary Bayou boy when he came down to rebuild the dock he crashed into, though he spent more time hanging with the Landrys instead, he and Mitch became good friends and kept in touch. He had met Bailey, who is a Wildlife Conservation Officer, before leaving for Med school, not his usual girl type but after their awkward encounters he could not get her out of his mind, he was even hoping to see her again when he visited for the holidays. Chase left a lasting impression on Bailey as well, she even made extra visits in hopes of running into him. The Landrys have to run around around every time she comes to cover up and hide their antics and crazy ways with animal and other wildlife. This time they recruit Chase to help distract her while they do some relocating. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is an entertaining and enjoyable story that can be enjoyed any time of the year. Erin Nicholas, thank you for making me smile with this wonderfully delightful story. The Boys of Bayou never disappoint, shenanigans and laughs are a guarantee.
And for the fabulous narration, Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux are talented narrators and voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. Michael Gallagher’s Chase was spot on, as was Bridget Bordeaux’s Bailey. I loved how they took each role and made it their own sounding believable and just as I picture them to sound. They were great performing the roles of all the secondary characters too. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen

Chase and Bailey
No Landry main characters here but be sure they are throughout the story. We remember Chase from when he stole the boat and broke the dock. We remember Bailey from when she came out check on the endangered animals. These two are a very clumsy couple and where there is clumsy there is laughter. Seemingly another unlikely couple until the Landry’s get ahold of them. More great Bayou antics and great narration.
Sisters Spotlight
Chase Dawson and Bailey Wilcox are clumsy and awkward at best but it works for them and their relationship and attraction are amazing. I love these two and wish their story was longer, I wanted more of them. Their affection was everything and their love was perfect, albeit a bit hazardous 😉
I loved watching these two figure things out and seeing them grow together. Their lives aren’t perfect but it is them and as untraditional as they are, it worked. I loved Bailey’s down to earth personality and the way she wasn’t into flashy things, she wanted Chase just the way he was. I laughed so much with these two and their antics. I loved their encounters the most with how awkward and messy they were.
Great novella in the Boys of the Bayou series!
If there is one person the entire Landry family is determined to avoid, it’s conservation officer Bailey Wilcox. But from the first time Chase meets her, he is simply smitten. And Bailey is not there to give the Landry’s a hard time about their somewhat questionable methods for rescuing animals. She just wants to make the world a better place for all creatures. These two are a great fit, and I loved their story.
The audio is voiced by two new narrators for me – Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux. They did an excellent job and captured Chase and Bailey’s playfulness and spirit perfectly.
This is the fifth book in the amazing Boys of the Bayou Series. I love this Series, and this is another great addition to the Series. Chase and Bailey’s Christmas novella is fun, sexy, and sweet. Chase, Juliet’s brother, has previously made an appearance in Sweet Home Louisiana, and in Beauty and the Bayou. Michael Gallagher and Bridget Bordeaux did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Four Weddings and a Swamp Boat Tour, the next book in the Series! #AudiobookObsession #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock #ALC
