Three Weddings…And a Murder So far Meg Langslow’s summer is not going swimmingly. Down in her small Virginia hometown, she’s maid of honor at the nuptials of three loved ones–each of whom has dumped the planning in her capable hands. One bride is set on including a Native American herbal purification ceremony, while another wants live peacocks on the lawn. Only help from the town’s drop-dead … drop-dead gorgeous hunk, disappointingly rumored to be gay, keeps Meg afloat in a sea of dotty relatives and outrageous neighbors.
And, in whirl of summer parties and picnics, Southern hospitality is strained to the limit by an offensive newcomer who hints at skeletons in the guests’ closets. But it seems this lady has offended one too many when she’s found dead in suspicious circumstances, followed by a string of accidents–some fatal. Soon, level-headed Meg’s to-do list extends from flower arrangements and bridal registries to catching a killer–before the next catered event is her own funeral…

Donna Andrew’s wonderful debut!
Meg’s summer as maid of honor in three weddings for three different demanding brides is complicated enough before a dead body shows up. And there’s the attractive man in town for the summer as well…. This is a fun, enjoyable series debut with plenty of humor. However, the mystery gets side tracked by all the antics of the characters at time. …
Loved it. Great first book.
Good story line. Held my attention but too long.
I just loved this wacky, crazy tale that I couldn’t put down. Refreshing!
Part of a fun series of cozy mysteries
It annoyed me that the lead character, funny, smart, organized, is a door mat for three bridezillas including her mother. The mystery was ok and some of the secondary characters were fun.
I liked the crazy characters–they were funny.
An easy, amusing, refreshing read with flashes of the brilliantly fiunny (swimming pool pouring itselff out ove the bluff, for example, and peacocks roosting in inappropriate places). You’ll enjoy this one–I did.
Love this series!
All the books in this series are so much fun. I had not had a chance to read this beginning one and I see how she has filled out her characters. A book that keeps you entertained from first to last page!
Very funny cozy mystery! Great read!
Very funny and a lot of relatable characters.
It doesn’t get any better than Donna Andrews. I read several of her fun mysteries with bird-related titles several years ago and reread this one on a whim last week. I just have to go through them again now.
Light, fun read.
A little too “Cute” for me. Zany, funny at times, over the top in portraying wealth as common experience. Has a “mean girls” cant to it. Shalllow.
I love this series. I’ve read them all starting several years ago. Now I’m reading them again. The characters are delightful. Meg and her family are entertaining and the plots are great.
The characters of this book are so relatable. I enjoyed reading it more than any book in recent memory.
The first in the long and continually fresh Meg Langslow mystery series. Donna Andrews has a special talent for writing entertaining crowd events.
I love the characters, the wacky family members get into amusing situations and Meg has to figure everything out.
