Bakery Detectives Bxd 1 – 3 3 stars
Likeable characters. Simplistic plots without much research. Read in one sitting. I enjoyed this author’s work so I contacted her and asked to review her books, oops.
A Pie to Die For #1 3 stars
Donuts, Antiques and Murder #2 stars

Bakery Detectives Bxd 4 – 6: 2 stars
I find the author is trying to do quantity instead of quality and these books are a good example compared to the first three books of the series. The characters are not getting smarter or being developed into likable and interesting people. The actions of the characters are silly or down right dumb. Some of the stuff the author puts in her books are either from lack of real knowledge/research or thought in plot development. I’ve read four and skimmed the rest of these 15 books and can’t recommend this series. I liked the first two, but recognized the characters, the plots and background information weren’t going to improve.

Once again Rachael and Pippa stumble across another murder. Confusion, misdirection, and mayhem ensues. Add in a really annoying train passenger and you have a recipe for an entertaining story. I had fun reading this!
I’m a fan of the bakery detective mysteries. I love Rachael & Pippa and have all the books! But, with that being said… I was very disappointed with Rachael she was petty & jealous in this one. Rachael was more worried about the “amateur” detective on the train and what he knew before she did & her wanting to look better then him that she didn’t even seem to care about actually investigating the actual murder. Then, Worst of all she kept lying to Pippa! Not Cool! Murder Train only gets 2 Stars from me.
On a Happy note… Marcello’s Back & Pippa has some news I’m crossing my fingers on!
Rachael and Pippa are in the middle of a murder again. Though not as suspects this time, they had their hands full of suspects and stuck in the middle of nowhere. A two-hour train ride turns into several days of sleuthing and cooking. This story is very enjoyable and interesting. I could not put it down. The dilemma Rachael and Pippa were trying to solve with the bakery added to the depth of the mystery. The characters were so diverse, it made for quite an interesting gaggle of suspects. I cannot wait to see what exciting adventures Rachael and Pippa have in store in the next book. I highly recommend this book.
A pretty wild tale.
These “detectives” were a prettybumbling bunch. I felt like I was reading a Keystone Cops silent movie score. I wasn’t predictable, but was fairly light
