From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox
Ghost hunter Verity Long is overdue for a little R&R (rest and romance) with her boyfriend, Ellis, and a vintage train trip through the Tennessee mountains seems like just the ticket. The Sugarland Express carries history and nostalgia in every compartment, and Verity is determined to enjoy it—without ghostly interference. But the ghosts have … But the ghosts have other plans…
On a dark, desolate night nearly a century ago, the train was stranded in the mountains, and a young woman was found stabbed to death in her locked compartment. The murder was never solved, and a ghostly Belgian detective is still pursuing the case from the grave.
To Verity’s dismay, all of the ghostly suspects are back. And when history repeats itself and a new murder mirrors the old, it’s up to Verity and her friends to discover which of the passengers—dead or alive—could be behind the murders before the killer strikes again.

Paranormal Cozy Mystery Romance (with a cute pet skunk!)

Fun take on a closed room mystery.
Cozy readers will enjoy the returning characters as well as the reveals for the series.
It seems like bad luck is the only kind of luck Verity has sometimes. Murder and ghosts follow her around like a blanket being dragged behind a child. This one has 2 murders Verity, her hunky boyfriend Ellis, and her ghostly pal Frankie need to solve. To continue Verity’s bad luck, the train they are on is occupied by Verity’s ex, and Ellis’s brother and mother from hell. Oh, and I can’t forget Lucy, Verity’s pet skunk! I love the originality of a pet skunk, and Lucy makes me wish for one of my own. I love the development of the relationship between Ellis and Verity. The humorous antics keep this mystery series quirky and fun, but the mystery isn’t light and fluffy. Instead, it is well thought out and full of twists and turns. I love a story that has endearing main characters, support characters who add a weirdness to the family, and a fast-paced, fun-filled mystery. This book delivers all of that and more.
I’ve enjoyed this series. Worth the read.
I love this book . It’s a must read book. How can you not fall in love with the town the people .
Murder on the Sugarland Express is book 6 in Angie Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries. Both the series and author are high on my Must Read list. After Verity Long accidentally attaches a 1920’s gangster’s ghost, to her property and her life, she decides to become a ghost hunter/helper. The series follows Verity with sidekick ghost, Frankie and boyfriend/deputy sheriff, Ellis and her growing Ghost business. These books are light hearted, intriguing, inviting, unpredictable, Entertaining reads. Full of action, adventure, laugher, twists and turns. Also the building romance between Verity and Ellis. With Frankie’s help Verity not only ‘sees’ ghosts but can interact in their world. Ellis is unable to ‘see’ Frankie or what Verity can. But he is right beside her, in the middle of whatever happens. Good and/or bad. He is her biggest partner, fan and protector. I received this book as an ARC from Moose Island Books through NetGalley. I am voluntarily posting this review. Read This Book, This Series and Angie Fox’s Other Books !!!
Loved this 6th in the series. Verity and Ellis decide to take a long break and decide to take a Vintage train ride. Almost from the start it starts going wrong, add ghosts from original trip also show up predicting doom.
I love these characters, they all have their own personalities. I usually can count on a few good chuckles when I read Ms. Fox’s books and this one delivered. The mystery, both of them, were excellent I was having a hard time figuring them out. I will definitely continue on with this series.
Fun book to read
This read is haunting in a different way than I usually use if to describe a story. Solving a murder in the real world is tough enough, but simultaneously solving one in the spirit world adds a whole new dimension (Ha!).
Love Angie Fox’s southern ghost series, I’ve read every one!
Funny, entertaining, a little romance…..
Well-written!
This book is about a ghost hunter on a haunted train. She solves both the old murder from 1929 and the new murder on the same train.
Really enjoy Verity and her life with Frankie. talk about there never being a dull moment! Poor Verity can’t even take a weekend away without Frankie popping in the middle of a dinner party. However, he does manage to save Verity and the day.
I’ve always enjoyed this author’s books. Fun and easy to read with a bit of meat to them.
Kept my interest to the point I couldn’t put it down. Well done!
I love a good murder mystery and this one didn’t disappoint. Although I figured out who the culprit was before the heroine did, (with the help of her ghostly partners). It was fun reading the series of events leading up to the final reveal. And by the way, I would love to go on a vintage themed train trip. Without the murder of course!
very enjoyable
This book was great as all of hers. Not only are they entertaining but funny too.
Love the characters in this series. Fun and entertaining.
Struggled to read, didn’t generate enough interest for me
