After Audrey Hughes’s long contract working security aboard a booze cruise ends, she’s craving something different. And what would be a greater change in scenery than a renovated 1940s ocean liner called the SS Mystique?Audrey eagerly signs up, thinking all she’ll have to do is tend to wealthy passengers and their pets on a quaint old liner. Instead, she boards a ship shrouded in odd … superstitions and deadly mysteries.
First she must gain favor with Captain Truffles, the ship’s cat, then she needs to learn the ropes in three days flat before the SS Mystique takes on hundreds of more passengers.
It wouldn’t be so bad—if not for the two dead bodies appearing right after the ship sets sail. Spitfire Audrey has a few ideas about who might be to blame, but a handsome Officer Gerald is determined to keep her off the trail.
The SS Mystique Cozy Mystery series is fun, quirky, and exciting! If you’re a fan of ocean liners, lovable pets, or grand adventures, this series offers all three!

Two deaths on an inaugural trip at sea. Was it murder, suicide, an accident?
I had no idea how this would play out and it was fun going through the clues and getting to know the characters at the same time. I know I’m going to continue to enjoy the series. I really loved Captain Truffles log at the end of the book. I hope the rest of the books continue to have this addition.

What a fun new story line. A cruise on a revamped old ship with employees dressed in that era. Unfortunately murder could spoil the maiden voyage. Audrey, Jessie, Tucker are lovely characters but the best one is Captain Truffles. Cannot wait to read more of this series

Wonderful old ship, Captain Truffles, , and murder. What more can you ask for?
Love that all crew members , even the Captain must be vetted by Captain Truffles. Love the logs too as added bonus to book. Wonderful addition and how he came about. Love how he views people and his fellow passengers, especially the poor puppy dog. I have a feeling will be seeing more of the two of them together.
Fast easy to read, first in new series by author. Nice rabbit trails to follow. Did you get caught on one.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Audrey, a former security officer, hires on as a steward on a small cruise ship, that is relaunched as a historical cruise experience for its guests.
She has been on board for less than an hour, when she finds a dead body together with a co-worker. Another dead body is found at about the same time. Although she did not sign up for security, Audrey cannot let the incidents go, believing them to be murders.
A fun cozy-mystery, with an interesting set of characters and a few surprises. Entertaining and a touch thrilling. A good read for a rainy day – or any day you have a little time on your hands.

Audrey needed a change from her old cruise ship position and its heartbreak. She is hired as a Steward aboard the SS Mystique, on which, after its long retirement, requires her to dress in period attire. Her first day presents with feline approval, two bodies, and a possible ghostly sighting. Murder On The SS Mystique had me invested in the characters and storyline from the beginning. I recommend this novel and I will be following this series.
