A really wonderful book, I could not put it down.
Took off a star because the ending stretches out too long.
I found myself skipping a lot. The plot seemed slow and the characters were not as well-developed as I would have hoped. The “romance” seemed contrived from the beginning and was never believable.
It was okay but predictable
I enjoyed reading all the descriptions of Venice–one of my favorite cities. The murder mystery wrapped up and explained a bit too quickly for me to follow.
Love Posie Parker stories!!!
Another good entry in the series. Good mystery; conveys a real feel for Italy in the early days of Mussolini and Venice in general. I thought the author’s mix of good and bad elements in her characters makes them much more believable and realistic. The Epilogue is especially intriguing.
Really felt like at the end tht I still had alot of questions the plot did not answer.
Interesting story with twists and turns hiding the murderer.
Took too long to get involved in the story.
I thought it pretentious at first but soon found it to have a unique protagonist and a well-wrought plot. A look at Venice of old that has nothing to do with an ‘exotic’ tourist city. Interesting frame of Fascist Italy and how it may have been lived caught in the madness.
Good read while seeing the sight of Venice.
The entire Posy Parker series is excellent.
Pretty good story. Very good evocation of 1920s Venice.
Fast paced plot and interesting characters.
I enjoyed the characters immensely!
A good story along with some history
It was totally NOT my style–didn’t get passed the 1st chapter
Boring. Hard to get started. Finally dropped it.
Wish I had read this before we went to Venice 10 years ago!
Quick read
It was a nice little quick mystery. I liked that I didn’t know in the first chapter who the killer was. I especially like the mystery at the end. ( I think I know the answer but you have to keep reading the authors books to find out. ) I enjoyed the author’s description of Venice.
