Maggie Newberry is an advertising copywriter who’s fast on her feet and a little stunned to realize that she’s over 30 and still hasn’t found true love. When her long missing sister ends up dead, Maggie flies to the south of France to find the little niece that no one in the family even knew existed. Along the way, she finds handsome, sexy Frenchman Laurent Dernier to help search for the girl. … Meanwhile, her sister’s murderer sets his sights on the little girl—and Maggie.
(Alors: Laurent’s classic boeuf en daube recipe at the end of the book!)

Loved the setting.
This is the 3rd book I have read by this author with this character. I find them interesting because of the French atmosphere. For the 2nd time I have guessed who the murderer might be before it comes to fruition.
Okay, but slow going
Just didn’t care for it.
I have read several of the books in this series and enjoyed them all, I think because it is a setting I. France and therefore different than the mysteries taking place in the United States.
I am only half-way through this book – but I can tell that there is going to be some dramatic turn of events that has been hinted since the first couple of chapters. There were also some surprises that I did not expect – which after reading all of the mystery books I have read since Agatha Christie (my all time favorite as a child and now loving …
Not that great but i finished it…
Good beach read. Fast read and keeps you on your toes.
dont remember
Having read Murder in the Abbey, by the same author, I was happy to get caught up on how the characters originally met. I did feel some of their personalities could have been filled in a little better to start with – just a little lacking and I sensed something else was in play early on in the book. Great suspense.
Fun
It was a good read.
Liked the French inserts!
Really enjoy this author and series situated in France.
A good read for walking on the treadmill. Kept me entertained and guessing.
Love the whole series
Implausible plot. Characters lack depth
Horrible!! Rambling nonsensical contorted plot and characters. Do not waste time even if free.
Couldn’t figure out the murderer until told! Great book!
