Lacey Doyle, 39 years old and freshly divorced, needs a drastic change. She needs to quit her job, leave her horrendous boss and New York City, and walk away from the fast life. Making good on her childhood promise to herself, she decides to walk away from it all, and to relive a beloved childhood vacation in the quaint English seaside town of Wilfordshire.

Lacey finally feels that her life is taking a step in the right direction—until her new star customer turns up dead.
As the newcomer in town, all eyes are on Lacey, and it’s up to her to clear her own name.
With a business to run, a next-door neighbor turned nemesis, a flirty baker across the street, and a crime to solve – is this new life all that Lacey thought it would be?

Enjoyed the characters in this book
small-business, small-town, women-s-fiction, dnf
Pollyanna loses her cool despite the dishy baker and a clue about her father. Awfully wordy, and rather odd that the American main character who relocated to England was narrated by a British accent. Mary Sarah, the narrator, did a fine interpretation but it seemed incongruous.
I really enjoyed this book and plan to read the others in this series. I felt like I identified with the main character and the events in her life. Can’t wait to read about her further adventures.
I loved all the twists and turns the story took.
Sweet but good mystery. Enjoyed it very much!
The first half of this book was okay then it bogged down in more tell than show and repetition to the point I gave up reading it.
Fun cozy, second chances book
good book. many twists.
I love the setting and the main characters are very like-able. The mystery was enjoyable because it wasn’t obvious. Plot twists were great.
I read so many books I honestly don’t remember .
great fun! great characters!
I don’t easily endorse modern books. I prefer classics. But I endorse this one. It was fun, well paced and I felt good reading it.
I enjoy the cozy mysteries. Very much and this book did not disappoint
I tried.
I enjoyed the characters. The story line was easy to follow, but not predictable
Fast moving plot and easy reading. Very entertaining and sorry when it quits…..just as soon it would keep the characters going.
Fluffy but fun. Character is sympathetic, relatable, engaging. Divorcee who ups and moves to England, a bit of romance, action, fairly realistic. Good action and good plot.
Looking forward to others in the series
I liked it so much I bought the next in the series.
