Excellent way to spend a cold weekend!” –Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (regarding Murder in the Manor)MURDER IN THE MANOR (A LACEY DOYLE COZY MYSTERY—BOOK 1) is the debut novel in a … debut novel in a charming new cozy mystery series by Fiona Grace.
Lacey Doyle, 39 years old and freshly divorced, needs a drastic change. She needs to quit her job, leave her horrendous boss and New York City, and walk away from the fast life. Making good on her childhood promise to herself, she decides to walk away from it all, and to relive a beloved childhood vacation in the quaint English seaside town of Wilfordshire.
Wilfordshire is exactly as Lacey remembers it, with its ageless architecture, cobblestone streets, and with nature at its doorstep. Lacey doesn’t want to go back home—and spontaneously, she decides to stay, and to give her childhood dream a try: she will open her own antique shop.
Lacey finally feels that her life is taking a step in the right direction—until her new star customer turns up dead.
As the newcomer in town, all eyes are on Lacey, and it’s up to her to clear her own name.
With a business to run, a next-door neighbor turned nemesis, a flirty baker across the street, and a crime to solve – is this new life all that Lacey thought it would be?

Twists and turns. Interesting story. Entertaining.
Good read
Just finished this delightful book. It was easy to read and the characters were interesting and well developed. A mystery to be solved and lots of possible suspects – great detective work by Lacey and her interesting friends. Reading this first book in the series has me wanting to read what happens next.
I skimmed a lot of this book. I found it very predictable.
Although you may need to suspend belief about the radical upheaval of the MC’s life that leads to amazingly great and terrible events occurring in rapid succession, this is a quick, fun read.
It was my pleasure to receive this free book from the author and give my honest opinion.
really enjoyed the story.
Enjoyed it. It actually read even better than a typical “cozy” mystery. I enjoyed the characters and the story and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Good story look forward to others like it.
The mystery in this book left me feeling it was a bit predictable, but then it would take a turn, and I’d find myself wrong and needing to re-think my suspect. I like that it left enough open ends in the ongoing story that I wanted to buy the next in the series.
This is a wonderful first book in the series. I have already ordered the second book. The characters are wonderful and the setting delightful.
Interesting charters and good plot
This novel had some decent parts to it but the multiple murders and the mistakes and lack of attention with some of the characters irritated me as I read.
fun concept and read. enjoyed…….
Enjoyed the characters..loved reading about different locale.
I liked it. Easy read. Really like the author
Nice British who done it. Cute romantic angle also.
fun read
Maybe a bit contrived, but… I enjoyed it. The characters are good, the plot developed well. I would read another one in this series or another by this author.
fun
This is the type of book I consider a mystery “lite” — a not-too-creepy mystery with a female protagonist that is into some artsy/crafty thing. I enjoyed this one more than most, I think because I found the characters and the setting interesting.
