Didn’t care for swearing!
Love the whole series of Maggie and Laurent books. The characters grow on you and you can’t resist picking up the next book.
This series was enjoyable. I recommend it.
The author needs a good proofreader.
An excellent addition to a great series!
I love the Maggie Newberry stories – Maggie always seems to get in trouble!
was fun reading it
I really enjoyed this book and first time read for this author. Lots of twists and turns in the story that kept me not wanting to put it down. Hope her other books are as good
Having recently visited Paris, I found this to be entertaining and it reminded me of things I had seen.
This book was a real page turner. Maggie is a wonderful complex character and her detective skills while in Paris are excellent. Really enjoy reading this series as it has many twists and turns.
The series formula has gotten a bit predictable. Heroine in peril at the hands of the murderer whom she suddenly figures out is the culprit. Author needs to change up the plots. I do love the French setting and all the city and food descriptions.
I always enjoy this author’s books!
I’ve been addicted to this series since I began reading the first book. I don’t even think twice when I see a new one; I just order it.
As an expat myself (though not in France), I empathize with many of the main character’s sentiments and temptations. Add the unpredictable ups and downs of crime solving, and you’ve got an captivating read!
Good series.
Could not keep my interest
I really enjoy her writing. I am a big fan.
This is the second book of the series that I have read. It keeps you wondering who did do it.
Book was easy to read-good for a beach read or rainy day.
I have loved the other Maggie Newberry books, but this one was subpar. First, Laurent is absent for most of the story and the absence is felt. Second, Maggie time and again did really stupid things, often putting her baby daughter at risk. it felt like the author just didn’t try as hard with this book.
Fun reading.
Susan Kiernan-Lewis is a favorite author.
