Georgie Kaye lives every day as if it were a gift, because to her it is. She beat cancer, against all predictions, and is following her life’s dream to draw portraits of the fur babies of the world. When Georgie and her twin sister Aleta arrive at an art gallery that wants to show Georgie’s work, they schmooze with donors, charm the artists, and overindulge at the sweets table. Everything is …
Everything is working perfectly in their favor, until an owner of the gallery is killed.
Georgie must help solve the mystery before the opportunity to have her first art show disappears.
Working with Aleta and her detective ex-husband Stan, Georgie sleuths her way to the answers, running into unexpected twists along the way.
This is Book 1 in a brand new series, Pet Portraits Cozy Mysteries, and includes recipes!

A light read that is funny and a good mystery. I can’t wait for the 2nd book in the series!
Ended too abruptly. Solving the murder wasn’t played out with the main characters enough.
I liked it.
Simple to read, nice Chicago references, but not always correct in defining the neighborhoods. The sister are sweet-aholics & should be rocky-poly for all the desserts they eat on a daily basis. Abrupt ending. I may try the next episode, but won’t be rushing to do so.
Conclusion- not a bad read, but not great either. Don’t expect Louise Penny or Agatha Christie type mysteries.
not what I was expecting ! I will be definately be following this series.
Didnt like the flow of the book
Brush up your English..
This first in a new mystery series from Sandi Scott was very humorous. I like that the twin sister sleuths were north of 60. Georgie and Aleta are two distinctly different personalities. They are both very personable. The plot has twists and turns enough to keep you from guessing the killer’s identity. I really enjoyed the book!
Quirky, interesting, and easy to read .
I like the book and will read some of her other books.
It was a fun read with likeable characters and a clever mystery to solve
I loved it!
The characters and fun presentation of story. The way sisters interacted.
Fun and adventurous. Any pet lover will enjoy these easy reading stories!
Loved the two main characters.
It was hard to limit myself to a chapter or 2 at a time when that was all the time I had. The sisters are a riot.
I liked the sisters and their interactions. I will read more from this author!
I liked it because it was different and the twins were so believeable and the way they went around solving the crime was great.
I like the concept of older sleuths, but they were annoying in the stupid things they did for no particular reason. The “mystery” was pretty easy to figure out. This was very light reading.
I always enjoy these twin sisters when they get involved in solving a murder. Some surprises and lots of suspense but on a playful way. You will not want to put the book down until you read the whole book!
