Georgie Kaye lives every day as if it were a gift, because to her it is. She beat cancer, against all predictions, and is following her life’s dream to draw portraits of the fur babies of the world. When Georgie and her twin sister Aleta arrive at an art gallery that wants to show Georgie’s work, they schmooze with donors, charm the artists, and overindulge at the sweets table. Everything is …
Everything is working perfectly in their favor, until an owner of the gallery is killed.
Georgie must help solve the mystery before the opportunity to have her first art show disappears.
Working with Aleta and her detective ex-husband Stan, Georgie sleuths her way to the answers, running into unexpected twists along the way.
This is Book 1 in a brand new series, Pet Portraits Cozy Mysteries, and includes recipes!

Still reading it however I love the characters. Looks like it will be a good mystery
It is sort of boring. Not finished. Doesn’t hold mt attention.
I loved the sisters!. They’re “seniors” but young at heart. Likable & “real”.
Great fun with older twin women who solve the murder
Really enjoyed this book. Fun read, interesting characters. The twins are especially entertaining.
My first read from author Sandi Scott. I received an ARC of this book. An entertaining novelette that I enjoyed reading. I’ll definitely read more from this author!
Not much new here, but good reading if you like the amateur sleuth in your mystery stories.
Written well and keeps your attention
OK book
Quirky characters and a plot line that will keep you guessing until the last minute! Enjoyable, entertaining, and lots of fun :-).
Fun read. Lots of zest to the characters.
Being an animal lover, I appreciate good book with animals which shows how smart and loving they are. Loved the story. A good book to read.
This is the first book by this author that I have read and I am now a fan.
I was gifted this lovely book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review. I enjoyed this cozy mystery and look forward to reading more in this fun series. Georgie and her twin sister Aleta are a hoot and I can see that in future books they will get into and out of much fun. I also liked the playful romantic tension between Georgie and her ex Stan who just happens to be a detective so fun. Okay add a cute dog and you have me. I look forward to more in this series.
Love the series.
I enjoyed this funny cozy mystery which is the first in the author’s pet portrait series. The interesting characters and non stop plot keep the reader interested to the end. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.
Hurray for Twin Sisters, Georgie and Aleta are hilarious. I really enjoyed this story, it was a very entertaining cozy mystery. Like how this new series is starting and looking forward to the next book. The characters are realistic and the story is fun. You will enjoy reading this book. Give it a try, you will like it. Appreciate the writing skills of Sandi Scott, she is very talented.
This was such a delightful book. Great chemistry between all the characters and the quirkiness of Georgie was funny yet brought out the attractiveness of the older crowd (we’re not dead yet). A hot bath, a cup of pumpkin spice coffee and a book by Sandi Scott, what more can you ask for!!!
My first book by Sandi. Her book reminds me of Nancy Drew and Miss Marple books.
66 year old twins Georgie and Aleta are funny super sleuths, complete with funny, drooling pug, and bossy cat.
Together they face the challenges of friendship, loss of husband to death or divorce, and life moving on. Murder an other mayhem thrown in as well to keep thing even more exciting.
The murder of a gallery own, though intriguing is not nearly as appealing as the connection between these hilarious twins.
They conquered puberty, marriage, childbirth, teenagers of their own, and Cancer. A little murder barely slows them down, but does make for an interesting day or two for them.
An there’s even a hint or two of romance.
It’s always more fun to laugh at someone else’s sister stuff.
If you like a humorous read, and love your siblings even more with a bit of levity, this could be a great read for you.
