Situated in the rolling hills of England’s pastoral Cotswolds, the Abbey is a charming Bed & Breakfast allowing its guests to taste the pleasures of rank and prestige from a bygone era—until murder slams face first onto its welcome mat.
When the victim turns out to be someone close to both Maggie and Laurent, they leave their vineyard in France to say goodbye—and to find out why.
Once in … why.
Once in England, they discover that the tranquil countryside of Shelley and Wadsworth can be every bit as treacherous as the most sinister souk in the backstreets of Marseilles.
What Maggie also discovers is that if she ever hopes to be able to live with herself—or face Laurent with her own guilt—she’ll need to find the killer…
… preferably before she ends up face down in one of the Abbey’s bucolic fishing ponds.

I love all of her books, I have read them all!!
Totally enjoyed reading this book. Story line was great and always kept you wondering right up to the very end. Would definitely recommend this book to others.
Just getting to the good part…
Love mysteries that I can’t figure out who the culprit is. Great author…love this entire series.
Interesting mystery, with lots of twist and turns. Setting takes you back to a different time period and life style.
It was a good read!
I very much enjoyed the book.
enjoyed this book
I enjoyed reading about Maggie and Laurent outside of their village. The plot was intricate enough that the murderer was not readily identifiable. Of course, Maggie who seems like someone we recognize really comes across as a more complex individual. So, I find her interesting.
I didn’t think I was going to like it but kept reading and found it really enjoyable. Kept me guessing to the end. Really like it!
This book reminded me of the British mysteries I love to watch on PBS.
One of my new favorite authors. Great mystery. I especially enjoy the descriptions of the setting. Recommend you try this author!
tedious
I enjoyed this yarn and will happily look for more from this author.
Loved it
I love this book, this author…cannot wait for her new book to be published. A real good, clean story, a whodunit to unravel. Keeps one’s interest, good descriptions, great characters..have read all this series. Highly recommend
Too slow and i lost the story line more than once.
I’m trying to make myself finish this book, but I may just delete it. This is the 8th(?) in this series, but the first one I’ve read. I don’t know if I would like the characters more if I had started at the beginning of the series. The main character’s husband is not likeable & it makes her less likeable for putting up with him.
This was a great little read. I would like to read more in this series.
I liked it
