Situated in the rolling hills of England’s pastoral Cotswolds, the Abbey is a charming Bed & Breakfast allowing its guests to taste the pleasures of rank and prestige from a bygone era—until murder slams face first onto its welcome mat.
When the victim turns out to be someone close to both Maggie and Laurent, they leave their vineyard in France to say goodbye—and to find out why.
Once in … why.
Once in England, they discover that the tranquil countryside of Shelley and Wadsworth can be every bit as treacherous as the most sinister souk in the backstreets of Marseilles.
What Maggie also discovers is that if she ever hopes to be able to live with herself—or face Laurent with her own guilt—she’ll need to find the killer…
… preferably before she ends up face down in one of the Abbey’s bucolic fishing ponds.

DIVERSE CHARACTERS AND ENOUGH TWISTS TO KEEP IT INTERESTING
Couldn’t get into book. Very slow.
It was an easy read. Not horrible but not the.best written book either. Just something quick and easy for a relaxing afternoon.
OK, but not memorable
Twists back and forth like an Agatha Christie story.
Dragged too long – stopped reading because bother by was happening and I got bored
A quick read cosy. Somewhat surprising ending.
I liked this book. I will probably find more from this writer.
Enjoyed the characters and the story line. It was easy to read, but definitely wanted to keep reading, so lost a bit of sleep til it was finished.
I recommend it
Ok story, not well written. Predictable.
Good read
A slow starter but this book delivered in the end!
Enjoyable story
Interesting setting and unique characters.
kept me guessing very good
I enjoyed reading how the elite lived in years passed. Would love to visit a b&b that would give me a chance to experience that in this day and age!
Murder in the Abbey was entertaining and easy to read. I did not read the first 8 but I figure by the 9th book the interactions between Maggie and her husband should have been resolved. I can’t imagine reading more about their quasi-dysfunctional marriage. As a single book it was fun. I won’t read any of the others.
I enjoyed this book although it was slow sometimes. I liked the characters and descriptions of them and their surroundings.
couldn’t get into it
