I really enjoy reading books taking place in ‘other places’ from where I live. It is great to learn about other places.
Attention to detail
Well-developed characters. It kept me reading.
Love the character Maggie. She seemed more contentious in this book. I missed a Book or more between this one and the last one I read, so mayne that’s what’s off.
A wonderful read without segues into sex, drugs , language. We need more books like this.
I enjoyed the book but the words in French don’t know what they mean
This is obviously a series that I started somewhere after the first book, so I missed a lot of the references. The main character Maggie was always more interested in her own agenda and trying to run other’s lives. She’s an American living in France and married to a Frenchman who owns a vineyard. And they are a lot of good food. But I don’t plan on reading any more of the series.
Was not tightly written.
Interesting events in Maggie’s family. But she should leave sleuthing to the pros.
Little character development and the plots are so contrived it’s laughable.
I’ve been following this series and I enjoy the books. Doesn’t every woman want a “Lauirent” in her life? I have not been able to read the books in order. This is one where you really needed to have read book 1 which I have obtained and am reading now.
One other issue, between this one and the one that follows I’m tired of obnoxious teenagers. Makes you wonder what is going on in the author’s life. LOL.
enjoyed the read.
a grest mystery lovrd reading it .
Disjointed and too many weird story lines. Wouldn’t read anything else in this series.
A great read from a great author of Ireland
I’ve read the majority of the books in this series. I thoroughly enjoy the characters! The close relationships between the family members and their friends always add interest to the current murder mystery tying to be solved. If you love reading about different areas of France and enjoy a good mystery, then you will definitely want to read all of these books! I will warn you – they might make you hungry because there’s lots about food, wine and pastries too!
A winning series
The characters were thoroughly unlikeable clichés. The plot resolution made very little sense. What a disappointment.
I didn’t care for this book.
Love this series. Maggie Newberry just cannot stop herself from solving a crime or righting a wrong!!
