The characters in this story grabbed my interest right away. I couldn’t stop thinking about them when I wasn’t reading. At points, I was scared for them, angry at what happens to them, and on pins and needles all the way to the finish! Loved this book!
Enjoyable read
I enjoyed the book. Very nice setting, in France. Interesting characters. Good information on French food, wine making. A pleasant read.
The female main character continued to appear and to “be doing” things, but none of it seemed to move forward. It was as though she was going around in circles with nothing else in the book relating to her and what she was doing.
Love this author and her novels about France. This one did not disappoint.
As usual, a very enjoyable continuation of this series. Great characters, who are realistic and complex; interesting plot, and a terrific setting. Always look forward to reading one, and hate to see it come to an end.
I read your story and I liked it, and enjoyed it very much. It was a great read it was well written it was a Page Turner with some mystery I got into the story Quite easily and I had to finish the story l loved it it had a good ending
A great mystery by my favorite author.
Maggie Newberry is my favorite series and I anxiously await each book as it is published. Love the story of Maggie and Laurent!
Too realistic for my taste.
Very disappointing.
I do not speak or read French and did not understand a lot of the words and could not put them in context with the sentences. I did not finish this book for that reason.
Lots of sub plots that somehow become plot twists. This is a very good read.
There goes Maggie, on another adventure. How can this go wrong? I did say Maggie, didn’t I? Enjoyable to find how things resolve themselves.
Not as good as her earlier books.
I love this series of books
Didn’t like all the French language.it would have been fine is there was an explanation of the words.
I love this whole series of wonderful characters.
Another lovely ‘cozy’ by Susan Kiernan-Lewis. I almost feel like family to these wonderful characters, and it’s beautiful to ‘spend time’ in the countryside of France with her as an added bonus.
I read book one and was hooked. I can equate the difference personalities (characters) with real people which made the reading more involving to me. I now have three of these books and will continue to add more. well written, enough twists and turns to keep turning the pages and an atmosphere that makes me feel as though I am visiting.
