Life is good indeed, especially if you’re a thirty-something expat living in an area of Provence where people would kill to live. And do! When Maggie’s new best friend is arrested for murder Maggie is determined to find the real culprit. Trouble is, there are a few roadblocks in her way: like an old friend on the verge of divorce who’s chosen Maggie’s house to have her nervous breakdown in, an … ex-paramour who has the power to make Maggie’s life miserable—and does—and oh, yes, a killer as warped and determined as any Maggie has encountered in her four years living in France.

I love cozy mysteries and mystery series where characters develop. Since this was not the first book in the series I did not have the benefit of seeing the relationships develop between the main character and her best friends, nor how she got together with her husband. His character did not get me to like him! Sorry. Loved the setting of Aix in France and all the French connections. Loved the mushroom info. I thought the plot moved a bit slowly. I would like to read the first book in the series before I make a final decision.
I love wine from this region, it was fun to read a mystery with twists in this setting
Predictable young woman in France becomes involved in a murder mystery
Enjoyable characters, twists and turns as the mystery unfolds, wonderful portrayal of a favorite setting make this a ‘curl up and enjoy’ read. Perfect for a long flight!
Disappointing. Somewhat predictable and not especially well written.
Great characters, suspenseful and keeps you guessing until the end. first one of the series I read and definitely want to read all the others
Enjoyable, easy to read British mystery.
A nice mystery set in France’s wine country. The very pregnant, American wife of a vintner helps a friend who is wrongly accused (she assumes) of murdering a past lover with poisonous mushrooms. Our sleuth gets into all sorts of strange situations as she hunts for the real killer. A subplot of an American friend visiting at the same time is distracting and not necessary to advancing the story. Also, the sleuth’s husband wasn’t charming or helpful at all. Kind of a grump. Yes. I understood his concern about his very pregnant wife getting into troubling situations, especially since she seemed more concerned for her friend than herself and her unborn child. However, his refusal to share any information about their financial situation was never resolved. All in all, it was a fast and interesting read.
Did not finish this book. Jumped around too much. Lost interest in story.
Really like this author

I just returned from a trip down the Rhone river and this was set in Provence. It was quite enjoyable to revisit this part of France.
enjoyed it. good light summer reading
I enjoy her books
I really enjoyed the story line. Holds the readers interest, nice character development.
I liked the setting. While it’s a stand alone story, I would have enjoyed it more if I’d already read the earlier books with this main character
Good read. Not terribly predictable but interesting for my taste
Not a book I would recommend. Same theme over and over about an 8 1/2 pregnant woman who goes against her husbands wishes to investigate a murder, then lies or doesn’t tell the whole truth. Slow. Her detecting skills were not very original.
loved it! the personalities, the setting and culture differences, and qwerkie plot twists were great.
After reading several in the series, the heroine barely escaping with her life wore a bit thin, but a good series nonetheless.
