Life is good indeed, especially if you’re a thirty-something expat living in an area of Provence where people would kill to live. And do! When Maggie’s new best friend is arrested for murder Maggie is determined to find the real culprit. Trouble is, there are a few roadblocks in her way: like an old friend on the verge of divorce who’s chosen Maggie’s house to have her nervous breakdown in, an … ex-paramour who has the power to make Maggie’s life miserable—and does—and oh, yes, a killer as warped and determined as any Maggie has encountered in her four years living in France.

Great series. Enjoyable characters that engaged me, I wanted to know what was going to happen to them. And the descriptions of the food…. I know I gained weight!
Thoroughly enjoying this series.
I’m in the middle of reading this but it keeps calling me back to read! I used to live in Aix en Provence, so it’s great to read about places where I used to walk.
Fairy tale-escapist but interesting to consider life living in France with a French husband.
I like all of the different characters.
I enjoyed this series. The last few books were a bit formulaic. Still enjoyed te characters and the scenery and the stories.
Unevenly interesting..
Lots of wine district details.
A good , fun beach read…I enjoyed the characters .
I don’t speak French. A simple sentence explaining what was going on Would have been helpful. I only got maybe 12 pages into it before I gave up
Not the best book I’ve ever read but I’m glad I finished it.
Kept you guessing almost to the end
Couldn’t really get into it…slow and covoluted
Love this series
The French parts need to be checked by someone who actually speaks French. It’s really distracting to have basic spelling and grammatical errors in the supposedly native “French” parts.
I’m not done with the book yet so I haven’t a clue how it ends but I can say that I’m really into it and read some whenever I get the chance. The characters are so real and I can see how something like this could really have happened.I’m hoping for a movie version soon.
I like French stories
A little slow, more details than needed
I couldn’t put it down! Great, easy to read mystery!
loved the characters and the book fun read
I think because this was the fifth in the series, I didn’t understand all the characters relationships. Also, the main character came off as very naive and uncaring.
