Life is good indeed, especially if you’re a thirty-something expat living in an area of Provence where people would kill to live. And do! When Maggie’s new best friend is arrested for murder Maggie is determined to find the real culprit. Trouble is, there are a few roadblocks in her way: like an old friend on the verge of divorce who’s chosen Maggie’s house to have her nervous breakdown in, an … ex-paramour who has the power to make Maggie’s life miserable—and does—and oh, yes, a killer as warped and determined as any Maggie has encountered in her four years living in France.

Susan has developed an interesting style since her first book. In this book, I felt lured back to the next chapter – and that is a good thing with any fictional writer. I will look to read another of her series.
A who done it Cozy murder mystery.
I always appreciate it when authors don’t feel like they need to use foul language. Those who like that language will add it on their own. Those who don’t really appreciate it bring clean.
Great Mystery. A book You can’t put down.
I lived in France when I was young, and I always enjoy reading books set in places that I have visited. I found this book realistic and very true to the French character.
Very good book!
Keeps you jumping to figure out who did what.
It was a fun read. I wanted to solve the murder and I enjoyed the journey..
Of course the location, the winery and the interesting characters and their stories kept me interested… a nice good-location mystery… dfk
Oh so very Parisian. Lots of twists and turns. In the end, the bad guys lose but it was close!
If there was ever a pregnant wife who didn’t listen to her husband, Maggie was the one. Nothing that being abducted by a mad killer just as you are going into labor! This was the second in this series that I have read, and I will probably read the others as well.
The setting and plot are unique and make this a great book.
I love this book and the other books about these characters. The main character solves mysteries while raising children and loving her French husband in his endeavors.
love this series.
Beach book or quick read for airplane.
All the repeat characters in this book are great especially the sleuth Maggie Newberry. The book is a fast moving page turner. Will read other books in this series.
Love all this author’s books!
lame plot, flat characters, silly or absurd relationships. I was lured in by the France setting and was mightily disappointed.
Loved the descriptions of the French villages and locations.
I emjoyed the book and love the area in which the story takes place.
Never read this, author before. I know it is a continuing character, so I will definitely have to read more. Kept me guessing.
