Life is good indeed, especially if you’re a thirty-something expat living in an area of Provence where people would kill to live. And do! When Maggie’s new best friend is arrested for murder Maggie is determined to find the real culprit. Trouble is, there are a few roadblocks in her way: like an old friend on the verge of divorce who’s chosen Maggie’s house to have her nervous breakdown in, an … ex-paramour who has the power to make Maggie’s life miserable—and does—and oh, yes, a killer as warped and determined as any Maggie has encountered in her four years living in France.

I am enjoying following Maggie Dernier as she solves mysterious murders around her. She has interesting friends and family and watching this mature through the series has been enjoyable. I’m on the next book in the series now….
A great way to experience France. Colorful characters!
I live in France, so love books written about where we moved to. These are lighthearted book, but interesting and entertaining and give the reader a glimpse into French rural living.
I like this series. It’s relaxing and I like to see the way the family has progressed in their relationship. Start with the first book as this book sets the foundation for all the books. The book and the series is entertaining.
Love the characters and story
I like series that build the characters through time and life experiences. I’ve got most of the books in this series. In fact, I’m just finishing up “Murder in Grenoble” – and it’s been a pretty exciting read too!!
Enjoyable story line, I really like the characters. Wonderful series.
Love this author. Her books inform about living in France which I love. There is romance, murder & great characters.
I love reading every one of these.
This is a good series, and so far all the books have been very enjoyable. Good, believable characters, good plots.
Maggie is far too daring, but her loyalty and willingness to help a friend make her so endearing! Can Laurent be real? He is so kind and patient mixed in with some crazy people. Enjoyed the mystery.
Not quite as good as the earlier books in the series, but still entertaining.
Loved these characters. Hated for the book to end. I’m glad there are more in the series.
Needs to be read in order and not so far apart
First book that I had read by this author. It was great…I did not figure it out till Maggie did. Loved it.

This is the third book I have read by this author. I have always liked reading “series” as it’s like meeting up with a good friend. This was one of the best as the author writes as if she is comfortable with her characters. I like a good mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. I always wish to be on a plane to France when reading one of these mysteries.
I like this series as I basically like the characters. This book is a little bit annoying in that Maggie seems to purposely put herself in harm’s way despite her husband’s admonitions and basic common sense. Other than that it is a good story with familiar characters.
This was okay if you happen to be a fan of the series. One point in its favor is that you needn’t have read the preceding books in order to follow plot of this one.
Great characters abd interesting French bacground
Was a good read that I really enjoyed
