Life is good indeed, especially if you’re a thirty-something expat living in an area of Provence where people would kill to live. And do! When Maggie’s new best friend is arrested for murder Maggie is determined to find the real culprit. Trouble is, there are a few roadblocks in her way: like an old friend on the verge of divorce who’s chosen Maggie’s house to have her nervous breakdown in, an … ex-paramour who has the power to make Maggie’s life miserable—and does—and oh, yes, a killer as warped and determined as any Maggie has encountered in her four years living in France.

Enjoy, clean, easy to read stories!
I have read others in this series as well. I enjoy the characters, the location and the mystery.
This one had plenty of twists and turns to solve the murder. Enough suspects to make it interesting and enough complexity to keep me guessing.
This girl will need a vacation from all her crazy friends. It’s a very interesting. The characters predicaments are hair pulling. This girl will need a big bottle of aspirin before it’s all wrapped up.
Fast moving, good read!
Pleasant light reading when one just wants to relax.
Cute and clever. Enjoyed the humor and especially liked the entegrity
Fascinating glimpse of living in the French countryside, with mystery and a little romance.
I have been really enjoying books that have local dialect and/or a second language from English!
Very predictable. I knew who the murderer was before the murder was committed. Maggie continued to knowingly put herself in danger by constantly seeking out a very deranged woman. The fact that she was pregnant (8 and a half months pregnant) and continued to engage in extremely dangerous sleuthing was an enigma to me. She put her child in danger! Her husband begged her not to continue this risky behavior but she disregard his concerns. I have no intention of reading any more of these ridiculous Maggie Newberry Mysteries.
I always enjoy political mysteries/thrillers as long as they are not too repetitive of past novels.
