It’s easy to give your life for someone. It’s much harder to kill for them. ~Nicky FuscoFor a select few people, friendship lasts forever. Nicky Fusco and Frankie Donovan were friends like that, but that was years ago. Now Frankie’s a detective in Brooklyn’s Homicide department, and Nicky is a reformed hit man. But when Frankie gets in trouble—and the law can’t help him—he turns to Nicky. The … Nicky.
The problem is that Nicky promised his family, and God, that he’d go straight.

I’m a sucker for la cosa nostra books, especially ones as entertaining as this offering from a ‘new to me’ author. Great pathos. The dialogue was witty and smart in a way not often seen in crime novels.
Violent and rough language but a very good read. Detailed characters
I loved the characters. I loved the neighborhood interaction and the loyalty of the male characters. I liked it so much I read the next book in the series and have downloaded the next book. Keep writing them and I will look forward to reading them.
I enjoyed reading Murder Has Consequences. The characters are well developed, and while the story is gritty, there is a bit of well placed humor. If you like murder and mayhem, give it a try!
Good story and characters, kept two stories going without missing a beat.
This book was fun to read. It is violent but also has a good story about family. I liked the characters and the interaction between family members.
Hard to put down.
I really enjoyed this book for the most part. Good story line and interesting characters that were well developed. I would of considered giving it 5 stars but the dialogue of the detectives was obnoxiously and overly sarcastic throughout first 2/3rds of the book. Took away from what I feel could of been witty gallows humor and just became …
Really loved this story. Unexpected twists and turns which is always appreciated. Only down side was not knowing this was part of series when I started reading it and characters didn’t make a lot of sense at first because I had not read earlier book.
Interesting cast of characters, with interrelated histories dating back to childhoods. The two main stories held my attention.
Great read, 2 completely different stories going on in this book. Great characters.
i kept sayi g this book was boring and i was going to qiut reading it…ONLY I COULDN’T. so, it wasn’t boring. old school, like the old detectives philip marlowe, sam spade, mickey spillane. not quite, but along those lines. i quit books if i’m not grabbed. something must have grabbed me
I generally don’t like books that skip back and forth between plots as i’m usually reading a couple of books at a time. This book was interesting enough that i remembered the characters and what they were doing. I really enjoyed this book because i love murder mysteries.
This was a book that kept me enthralled to the writing of this author. I could not go to sleep until I finished this book! Great story!
I couldn’t put it down, anxious to read the next one!
An intriguing story about a group of men who grew up together and have differing skills, ethics and foibles. Many of these men have become dangerous persons, but the two main characters are unmatched. It is uniquely told in that each chapter provides a first-person account of one of the character’s actions and perceptions. Character development …
This book was a great read. Fast moving with great character development
I was amazed by Giacomo. The more unbelievable the characters got, to more believable they were. And what a collection of characters? A special/dark ops soldier gone berzerk, a reformed hit man, a detective (female, plus minority) rookie with smarts and compassion, the banter and the language. I have never dreamed that it was possible to put that …
I like his writing style from the scary-action filled passages to the homely musings of his family life. The premise of a person protecting his cop/friend-from-childhood is compelling and he fulfills his commitment to making this an exciting read.
Could hardly put this book down. Very mysterious and thrilling!!
