It’s Lilah Love’s job to inhabit a killer’s mind. The unapologetically tough FBI profiler is very comfortable there. But her latest case is making her head spin. It’s a string of brutal assassinations carried out across the country, each tied to a mysterious tattoo. Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following … her.
Here, beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community, is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past. To fight it, she’s forced to turn to her lethally tempting ex, Kane Mendez. He’s an expert at bringing out Lilah’s darkest impulses. If she plans to survive, she’s going to need them.

Murder Girl picks up where Murder Notes left off and Lilah is determined to find out the answers to both the murders and her past even if that means going against Kane. Since Kane knows that she is not going to stop investigating he is right by her side to protect her from the people who don’t want the secrets revealed.
As the deception that surround her are revealed one lie at a time she is left wondering who she can trust especially when it appears that the person left standing is Kane despite his dubious past.
This story is a suspenseful ride filled with twists that leave you wondering what could possibly be around the corner and whether they will capture their prey or become prey themselves?
I liked both these characters as Lilah is determined to find the truth despite the consequences while Kane is willing to do whatever is necessary to protect her. I have enjoyed this series and I am looking forward to the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) by Lisa Renee Jones is the continuing story of Agent Lilah Love and picks up where book 1, Murder Notes left off. This author is amazing at writing romantic suspense. She will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved this book and this series so much. I can’t wait for the next one!!
Well damn, didn’t see that one coming. I have to say if you haven’t read the first book, why not? You can’t read this book without reading the first one. I have to say I was really happy the author put a recap of the first book at the beginning of this book as it has been several months since I read the first one it was nice to get a refresher. So this book is a conclusion of the first but also knowing the series can continue. I really did enjoy these first 2 books and think Lilah is such a kick-ass person. I also think Kane and Lilah are made for each other sometimes that might not be a good thing but in the end it’s what both needs. I look forward to seeing where this story goes after this.

This is officially my favorite book by LRJ. I can not put into words how amazing this book is!! I honestly wasn’t to sure I’d even like the book…… so glad I was wrong. Kane has taken Kayden’s book bf spot. I can’t wait to see how this series progresses. I’m hoping Andrew is clean. And who is junior?….
I am freaking OBSESSED with Lilah F*@&ing Love! She makes you literally question everyone’s motives! The friend, the brother, the ex-partner, the medical examiner, her boss? Every single person could be shady and untrustworthy. Her mind amazes me.
I am so wrapped up in this story and this mystery. It’s one of those books that doesn’t even give you half a puzzle piece before scattering the board again. And along with the chaos and suspense, is a forbidden love story. Lilah can’t be with Kane because they are on opposite sides of the line. But there are two parts of her and he sees them more clearly than anyone.
So, by the end of Murder Girl, you have one dilemna wrapped up, and a new one set up for the next book. I’m telling you right now, this is a can’t miss series. Not a stand alone, go back and read book one first. Oh and I appreciated the recap from book one at the beginning of this, very helpful.
Murder Girl is the second book in the Lilah Love Series and this series is meant to be read in order. I appreciated the authors recap of book #1, Murder Notes, at the beginning of this book because you do forget a few things along the way but I don’t suggest you use it as a cliff notes – you honestly need to read the first book.
FBI Special Agent Lilah Love is back home in the Hamptons, New York following up on a case that is connected to a case she was working on in California. To say Lilah isn’t happy to be home would be an understatement but there is one silver lining, Kane. YUMMY! Kane’s family is….how shall we say???? ummmm, not clean…yeah that’s a good term for it since Lilah’s family is supposed to be squeaky clean with them either being in law enforcement or politics. OK stop laughing, we all know there are dirty people every where but her family has always been against their being together but they are like the yin and yang, opposites attract and all that, but there is so much more to them. I really hope they get their HEA at the end of it all.
We are taken on a journey to unravel several murders and even a couple of murders that are staged to look like suicides….crazy!!! The only link they seem to have is Lilah and a very significant tattoo. I suggest you buckle your seat belt for this bump ride because nothing is as it seems and secrets are plentiful so you really don’t know who you can trust. Happy Reading!

I love this series. I couldn’t put this book down and when I got to the end I didn’t want it to end.
Lilah is an awesome FBI agent. The way she analyzes the crimes scenes makes me fill right there with her. Her and Kane work well together with trying to figure out the serial killer. They are a good team and I love them together. They connect as one when they are together. They kept reeling me in when they get one clue figured out and then onto the next. Had me on the edge waiting to see what happens. I love how it drew me in and I couldn’t stop until the end. That’s how Lilah is drawn in until she catches the bad guys. I’m glad I got more of Kane and Lilah in this book.
I can’t wait for the next book. ARC provided by netgalley.
OMG! This story just keeps getting better and better. With so many moving parts to it and a roller coaster of a story of who everyone is in relation to what Agent Lilah Love is investigating. The plot twits and the suspense have made for a thrilling on the edge of your seat read! Hands down one of the best book I have read to date and the fact that there is more to this wonderful series will have me anxiously waiting for the next book until it arrives. The dynamic between Lilah and Kane is so intense and they have such great chemistry and understanding of one another. At times you wonder who the good guys really are and whether who you think the bad ones are may not be as clear as you think. Just when you think you as well as Lilah have it figured out, BAM! everything changes and has you wanting to know what will happen next. I am so looking forward to the next part in the story!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. The perfect second part to the Lilah Love series.
The story picks up right where book one left off, and I really enjoyed that Lisa Renee Jones gave readers a recap of all that had happened in Murder Notes. It brought me up to speed again after having read the first book a few months back.
In Murder Girl, Lilah remains embroiled in the case she returned to New York for. Only things get even more intense and suspenseful as the book unfolds. (This is going to be a very high level review, so I don’t spoil anything for those hoping to read this.) There’s so much going on in the book and it seems like Lilah is tied to all of it in one way or another. And she’s still harboring this huge secret, one that only Kane is privy to (well, and “Junior” too), which only complicates things more.
Speaking of Kane, he’s grown into this complex character who I personally love to hate. I loved him in book one but in this book, I had a bit of a tougher time with him. One minute I’d adore him and the next he’d do something that made me want to slap him upside the head. He continues to have Lilah’s best interests at heart, from what I can tell, but … I don’t know. Romance isn’t the central theme of this story though, so I’m not going to spend too much time analyzing that aspect.
Once again, everything is so darn well-written! Lisa has an incredible imagination and it comes to life within the pages of Murder Girl. Lilah will forever be one of my favorite female leads because she’s insanely courageous and strong and determined. She kicks butt, takes names, and doesn’t let anybody hold her down. That’s a big part of what makes this book so awesome.
I couldn’t put this book down once I got started with it. It’s filled with all kinds of action and suspense. Lilah is trying to figure out who “Junior” is, and the author had me pegging people left and right. In fact, I had an extremely difficult time knowing which characters I could and couldn’t trust as I was reading. There are all sorts of seedy people interspersed throughout the story, and that only kept me on the edge of my seat even more.
The whole time I was reading this book, and its predecessor, I felt like I was watching an episode of Law and Order. Lisa Renee Jones definitely nailed the crime and suspense aspects of the book. I liked that even though there were mentions of Lilah’s romance with Kane, that wasn’t a central focus for the story. Everything circles around the investigation and the different clues and evidence that Lilah uncovers.
This book doesn’t end on an insane cliffhanger like Murder Notes did, BUT there’s still one huge question that needs to get answered, so that has me crossing my fingers that we’ll be getting another book in this series.
If you like suspenseful stories, this book is the one for you. BUT, be warned, you absolutely have to read book 1, Murder Notes, before embarking on this journey. If you don’t, you’ll be completely lost on what’s going on.
Five stars to this novel!
The conclusion was finally here but yet I felt like it wasn’t over. I didn’t get full closure on this story. And damn how I wish this was in dual POV or even several POV because I would’ve love the input of Kane, Rich and even her own brother.
Murder Girl picks up where it left off in Murder Notes and honestly it didn’t seem like Lilah was getting any closer to resolving the murders. This one still throws you for a loop and when you think you know who’s behind everything there’s a new suspect. This book showed more of how Lilah and alpha sexy Kane work. You get to see how far he’ll go to protect her and to have revenge on who’s hurt her in the past. These two are wrong on paper but oh so right. Lilah is still the smart ass sassy agent that doesn’t care what anyone has to say about her.
There were some revelations and incidents that took me by surprise. I didn’t know how things were going to progress after this. There’s still unanswered questions and some things that were “resolved” didn’t convince me and leaves room for more of this sassy FBI profiler. And her Kane when they weren’t trying to kill each other well more like her trying to kill him they were really steamy and hot.
Intense and exciting, Murder Girl is the second Lila Love book. The first book MUST be read, as this book ties up a few loose ends from the first, but also leaves us with more questions. It’s twisty and intriguing.
Lila is a favorite heroine of mine. She’s tough and determined, nothing will stop her. She’s intelligent, dedicated, and ready for anything. Her story is well written and quickly paced. The romance falls a bit flat in my opinion. Kane and Lila have chemistry, but their relationship is secondary to everything else going on. There is a large cast, and a lot happening, but the story sucks you in and is easy to keep up with.
Book two. You know those detectives who don’t smile much. All work. All gruff few manners. That’s Lilah Love. FBI profiler. Daughter of former cop aspiring politician, sister of local head cop and has had and still does have feelings and a relationship with local syndicate son, Kane, who most thinks is now its leader.
She’s in the Hamptons, family home, working on a vicious murder case that spreads far beyond the Hamptons. Just how many of the people she knows and loves are involved? Does this have anything to do with her secret past? A secret only she and Kane know.
Forgot to mention Lilah has a surplus of men in her life. Family. Ex-boyfriends. Old friends. Former partners. Most want to protect her. Some, maybe, want to kill her. She just has to figure out who fits on which list.
Never a dull moment. The clues are well hidden. The danger powerful and there are some steam and family tangles. Old truths may not be so true after all. You have everything in this one, especially a page-turner with unforgettable characters.
Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Oh my! This series started with a bang and this book did not disappoint and kept up and exceeded my expectations. It started at the exact point where book one stopped and, I am pleased to say, with a perfect synopsis of book one at the beginning (which every book 2 should have) so we are up to date. Does this mean you do not have to read book 1? No! Book 1 was so good, it would be criminal to not read it. This book has Lilah Love questioning her decisions, her connections, her relationships both personal and professional, and all while hunting a serial killer. This is a quick paced and engaging read that will have you reading so fast to find out what happens next. I definitely recommend this one and love how this sets up for a long running series! Sign me up for more Agent Lilah Love! I see great reads in our future with her.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt like everything you knew was turned upside down? The truths you thought were true weren’t. Lilah Love has some harsh realities revealed to her in this edition of the Lilah Love series.
I devoured this book. Gosh she makes one heck of a profiler. I’d love to sit in a room with her and just walk through the cases. Help her put them together piece by piece like a puzzle. Because really that’s what profiling is. Putting the puzzle pieces together. Some people are just able to do it faster than a detective.
In this particular book Lilah is forced to admit to herself she’s a target of their serial killer. Why? This is what she has to piece together. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger – or deeper and deeper depending on how you look at it.
If you love suspense novels – this one will keep you enraptured til the end. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. There’s still more answers to answer. More clues to find. More connections to make.
Just remember – what you thought you knew no longer applies!
Guilt-ridden Lilah has to finally face the reality of her dark side. She can kill with no compunction in self-defense. The fact that she has the ability to zone out emotions and act as needed, is an asset as she plunges deeper into the mystery of who is killing seemingly unrelated people with the same MO.
She must also face her past and the buried emotions she has for Kane Mendez. This is their journey in this love/hate relationship while building trust between them. There is nothing Kane will not do in order to protect Lilah. She is the only woman for him.
This plot is complicated, slow in building up to delineating all the puzzle pieces, but full of introspection as Lilah goes through her thinking processes. She has to find all the significant pieces of this murder puzzle before she can fully act. With assassins for hire named “Ghost” and “Gamer”, dirty politicians and those who own them, and dirty law enforcement members, there are few people Lilah can trust absolutely. Once the main pieces fit, Lilah and Kane are unstoppable.
In the venue of an amazing Agatha Christie mystery, this series will have you holding your breath. If you are a reader who enjoys thrilling complex stories, this series is for you.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing this book with me.
5 star review of Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) by Lisa Renee Jones
Two of my favourite types of reads together romance (although there is not a lot of this in Murder Notes) and murder mystery, what more could I ask for? I’m not to sure where to start with this review as I do not want to give any spoilers away. u2002
Murder Girl picks up from where Murder Notes ended so if you haven’t read book one, stop what you are doing and read Murder Notes first otherwise you will not have the background to read Murder Girl.
I was invested in this book from the first page. I could not put it down, I kept saying just one more chapter I have to know what happens so a sleepless night was had, but oh what a story.
Lilah Love is an FBI profiler and is used to dealing with the seedier side of life. When a string of murders takes Lilah back to her home town, her past rises up to smack her right in the face. Is this the work of a serial killer or an assassin? Will her haunted and dark past be brought to light?
The fact that she really cannot trust anyone including her family and Kane the only man she has truly loved makes for one heck of a crazy ride.
The writing was just as intense and as strong as book one and had me on the edge of my seat. There were so many plots twists that I was kept guessing and I needed to concentrate to ensure I didn’t loose track and to me that is the sign of a great book that has drawn you right in to the storyline.
The intrigue, suspense, danger and secrets had me riveted from the first chapter until the last, I was absolutely hooked and feel that this is one of the best examples of romantic suspense I have read in a long time.
I cannot wait to see where Ms.Jones takes us next on this amazing journey that is Lilah Love.

ARC received for an honest review
Firstly, thank you Lisa Renee Jones for the wonderful, thorough recap of the first book at the beginning of Murder Girl, as I know I had forgotten most of Murder Notes – terrible Bookzheimer’s here!
Murder Girl takes up right where Murder Notes ended, and right from the get go we are swept back away in the murder mystery in the Hamptons.
I adore Lilah. There is so much going on around her, she is focused and doesn’t take crap from anyone. You can feel the push/pull between herself and Kane, and if you are like me you just need them to get together!
There are so many twists and turns in Murder Girl, you never know which direction you are going to be dragged next. Who could Lilah and I trust, who was after her, why??
There are a lot of things sorted out in this books, however as we come to a close, there are some things opened up to us.
Not sure if there is going to be a 3rd book in the Lilah Love series, or if this is set up for a new series, but I need to know what happens next.
I love this book, this series and especially the highly interesting Lilah Love. This book is just like the first full of suspense and intrigue and I didn’t want to put it down. I finished this book with answers to some questions and then a whole new set of questions. Who can Lilah trust being the biggest. This book is so well written and fast paced and keep you guessing even after the last page is read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book
After the major cliffhanger in book one, Murder Notes, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this second book! And right when I think I have some answers, I’m left with another major cliffhanger and now I’m wondering what’s really going on?! This book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next?! I’m not saying much because we still have the 3rd book coming and I don’t wanna give nothing away! I can’t wait to see what comes to light in book 3! Lisa’s done such a great job at this murder mystery! Right when I think I’ve figured something out I’m clueless again! And what’s gonna happen with Lilah and Kane?! They have such a weird relationship. I’m curious to see if they’ll end up totally together or always at a distance? I hope they finally solve this case and out of danger so they can finally be together!! I definitely recommend this series! It’s dark, mysterious and sexy! I’m so ready for the conclusion!!
This book is amazing! In my opinion, it is definitely more suspense/crime thriller than romance (there is a smidge of romance), but that is okay with me as long as it works. And this really works! This author’s imagination just astounds me; the way it bobs and weaves through such a detailed storyline is fascinating and I am in awe that she is able to help us as readers to be able to follow along so easily. This is Book 2 in a series so you definitely want to go back and Read Murder Notes first if you haven’t already since this book picks up where it left off. Which reminds me, thank you so much Lisa for recapping book 1 at the beginning in order to help refresh my avid reader memory.
Lilah Love is such a great heroine and character. As an FBI profiler, she finds herself right in the thick of her investigation continuing on from Book 1. Her relationship with Kane is very complicated but I feel almost a necessary part of her in a way. They have some very telling conversations that help understand their dynamic. There are so many interesting characters in this book who will definitely put many doubts in your mind as to who is on the right side of the law and who isn’t. I was happy to have some burning questions answered but feel like we have just skimmed the surface and there is so much more to learn. I am really looking forward to the next book and the continuation of Lilah’s very interesting and fascinating life.
