This book is a good contemporary mystery. The writing and scenes were very descriptive and you could tell that the author put a lot of work into developing the characters. A compelling “who done it” mystery. This book pulls you in and you want to keep reading to find out which character is the killer. A perfect blend of mystery, comedy, and drama. Overall a well-written page turner.
A short sweet and sassy cozy mystery. Ms McFarlane has created a wonderful and exciting story of a young woman trying to make a living in the hairdressers profession. She is doing fairly well but business has begun to taper off. The story has several different characters working in the hair salon. The owner is thrown for a loop when a client is discovered murdered. The characters are quite interesting and make sure you are made a part of the story. I highly recommend this book.
Fun read even though it IS a mystery.
This is a fantastic mystery. I really enoyed it. Loved the characters.
Fast read, liked the story line. Not too deep, but kept my attention.
Valentine is a hairdresser trying to stay in the black with her struggling beauty shop and her life. Then, there is a murder at her shop and her cousin, who she was forced to hire, is running her customers off. Valentine determines that someone in her shop must have killed the victim, and she wants to find out who did it. The detective in charge of the case, Detective Romero, wants her to stay out of the case and so does an anonymous person threatening her. This is a good mystery and a nice romance.
This book was entertaining. I like how it kept me guessing. The main character is funny and I enjoyed her crazy life.
Storyline was predictable and a quick read.
