In the fifth book in this series, Lt. Dekker gets an advance warning that he might be investigating a couple of murders when two people turn up missing after a high school reunion. When those bodies do indeed turn up, the lieutenant and his sergeant sidekick go to work. They start by interviewing everyone who attended that high school reunion. In their favor is the fact that not a lot of people … people attended the reunion, but it doesn’t help them any when they find out that everyone hated one of the victims, but none of them appear guilty of murder.

Good characters.
Christian mystery. Somewhat funny..
Thought it was very entertaining and it eases you right into the sequel!
Dragged out to much, almost skipped to the end just to find out who dunnit.
Kinda threw me when I first started reading it. Different style. The characters were fun, and it kept you guessing. Was surprised how it ended!!
It is a light hearted mystery with lovable characters. Not deep, but not easy to predict the ending.
This is my second from this series and the author is fun to read with a twist in story here and there. Loved how he integrated a working weight loss plan and celebrated little successes along the way. Not too preachy; just two old guys who try to maintain a relationship with God and be good friends and funny coworkers.
I enjoy all of his books. A nice clean read
I liked it but was disappointed with the ending. I’m still puzzled. To me I was left in limbo. Not his usual ending.
not my cup of tea. Did not care for the way it ended and too many loose ends.
It’s a fun story. Halarious characters.
I felt so sad that the person that killed the daughter had influence to get away with it. Sometimes like here there are extending circumstances to murders like here. I’m glad I am not a law officer.
After finishing two P.F. Ford series, this book seemed trite and full of cliches. You can’t get a feel for the characters because they are all trying to be so “cute.” I must say I didn’t give it too much of a chance since I could only make myself read a few chapters of it. Disappointing.
I love Steve Demarre’s style of writing! Humorous while intriguing as I try to solve the mystery right along with the retired detectives (Cy & Lou). Cy always has me laughing as he talks about the neighbor & others.
I just don’t have the same sense of humor as the characters so I didn’t find it funny. I found the relationships, especially the romantic ones, too unlikely and the main character’s verbal interaction with younger women inappropriate.
When the mystery was finally solved, and they didn’t have any real evidence, no one was prosecuted and it was …
I really like the way the story is told from a first person perspective.
Cy and his sidekick Lou are as entertaining as ever in this lighthearted mystery. The ending was a little unsettling, but the added dimensions of physical improvement and a little romance were a welcome surprise.
Funny, off beat, easy to like characters plus unconventional story line combine to create a very entertaining read! Loved all of the books in this series
I didn’t care for it. Very slow moving. Didn’t finish it
Not a favorite. I find that the characters in this book by a male author were non relatable. I gave a lot of thought to why I didn’t like this book, because I generally like mysteries, and found that this is the only one I have read by a male author. If that’s sexist, I’m sorry.
