In the fifth book in this series, Lt. Dekker gets an advance warning that he might be investigating a couple of murders when two people turn up missing after a high school reunion. When those bodies do indeed turn up, the lieutenant and his sergeant sidekick go to work. They start by interviewing everyone who attended that high school reunion. In their favor is the fact that not a lot of people … people attended the reunion, but it doesn’t help them any when they find out that everyone hated one of the victims, but none of them appear guilty of murder.

Loved this story. Kept me guessing right up to the end. Also a little romance which was unusual for these mysteries but well done and very sweet. I didn’t get “whodunit” until the end. Great story!
Just love this entire series by Steve DeMaree!
I enjoy the stories of Cy and Lou’s adventures. Beside the mystery, their verbal sparring is highly amusing. Their adventures are good, clean fun!
Love this book, clean language
Another great book by Steve Demaree! I enjoyed the book all the way through. The ending left me in more than place thinking, “Okay, here comes the trouble!”, but was pleasantly surprised at the end.
I enjoyed the characters. They are so funny and so down to earth. Cy and Lou make their way through figuring out who done the dirty deed. Your see the day in and day out, the frustrations, the funny normal things that can happen in a person’s life and does in theirs. And then the end….. Surprise!
My two favorite detectives. I am hoping Cy makes it to a svelte and healthier life style. I absolutely enjoy these guys. Their patter, friendship and Christian viewpoint is so refreshing and intriguing. Keep the guys healthy and growing in their faith and deductions.
Unpredictable
Love the unique and funny investigation by to semi retired police detectives. Who get instructions from God.
I love all of Steve DeMaree’s books. They are so funny yet have a good mystery to them. Love those two main character. Sgt. and Detective Cy are the best
This series of books are super. The characters are realistic and funny. Their problem solving methods are unique – to say the least. Never a dull moment in this book.
Interesting characters, good plot, surprise ending, great interaction.
I completely enjoy everything that Steve Demaree writes. His mysteries are just wonderful, and I am never able to figure out who the culprit is. The interaction between his detective duo, Cy and Lou, is just hysterical! There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book–I think anyone would completely enjoy it.
Love these two police officersaid. Their faith; friendship; humor and ability to solve cases. People can relate to these guys and their daily issues. Cant wait to read more of this series and some of the mystery books mentioned in the story.
This was a easy read that kept me turning the pages.
The Lt. Dekker stories are funny and clever. The plot twists are true to life and the characters are very believable with all their little foibles. A truly enjoyable read.
I love to read Steves books they make me laugh and so glad to see Cy on the Wll and gets a new girl friend. You go Cy ! All kidding aside I havent read one of Steves book that were not good . I love them . Keep up the good work . Ps I kind of feel bad for the neighbor and her dog now.
This is the fourth I’ve read in this series and love them all so far!
The author writes about solving a crime but with a lot of satire, humor and entertainment. The characters are down to earth, clever and have what seems real lives and real problems. The way the characters work through all things is entertaining and the book is a very relaxing and easy read.
As I wrote on another review, I love his books and have all of them.
