a nice quick read. my fave. no. amusing. yes. i may have completely bypassed this aspect but what happened to the dog. i don’t wish to spoil anything, but it was never mentioned in the very end when all was wrapped up about the dog. it just disappeared from the book…….. ??? so i had to give 3 stars…
This book was only so so. That’s why I only gave it a three. I had planned on reading the other books by this author, but decided against it.
Finally–an author who doesn’t use “off of” in the book. It was almost too fast paced but a good read.
I expected to like this but I just couldn’t get into this one. It was just slow and didn’t hold my interest. Stopped reading after chapter 4
No developed plot. No particularly likable characters. It maybe fiction but a bunch of people die in a few hours and no one is concerned?? Thankful it was a novella and it didn’t waste much of my time.
I have mixed emotions on this book. I guessed the person “who done it” very quickly so I was disappointed. The story was good and I liked the characters, I just wished the murderer wasn’t the obvious person.
I was disappointed that this book was so boring and predictable. I cannot recommend it.
Murder at Mistletoe Manor by Holly Tierney-Bedord is the perfect mash of Clue, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Can Klarinda figure out who is killing her guests before the murder comes for her?
Klarinda Snow
Klarinda is our innkeeper and sleuth. Well, an unknowing sleuth. She is an unknowing sleuth since she didn’t mean to start sleuthing around, but it just happened. Klarinda is a lovely character in the way that she came to own the inn and with how she has been running it. I like this character as she wants the mystery to be solved and for the bodies of her guests to stop dropping like flies.
The Mystery
Klarinda has a full house with all six of her rooms occupied, and she has no clue how they are all connected. The first five seem to be but not the last one. That seems to be some flook until they start dropping like flies. I thought I knew who it was before the sleuth did, and I was right.
The Narrator
Christopher Lane is a great narrator. I was able to immerse myself in the story through his unique way of telling it. My only problem is that most of his female voices just seemed too much alike that I had to wait to see what name he would say said what to make any sense of it. Other than that, he did a great job.

Murder at Mistletoe Manor was a fun read for Christmas. As a murder mystery it was light, a quick read with interesting characters.
found the ” murders ” to be unrealistic & contrived but enjoyed it as a farce
This was a very unusual read. I enjoyed every minute.
Mistletoe Manor is a fun cozy for a cold night. This novella is light reading, and I would love to see Klarinda, Myrtle, Pierre, and the entire Windy Pines community developed more fully in a future novel.
Spoiler alert: So many deaths in one place, yet they go on with barely a hiccup. Realistically, people would be traumatized, plus there was no reason for the outsider to be there except to be the killer. Nothing suspenseful about it at all.
surprise eeding
This book was very predictable. As soon as the characters were introduced I knew who the killer would be and why she was getting rid of the others.
I think it was not at all realistic. I had trouble finishing it.
This was a great “who done it”
Pretty predictable story. Ok read, nothing special
Not really a believable story. Easy to read.
I enjoyed this quick read on a snowy January morning. The characters were wonderful and the mystery was engaging. Can’t wait to read the rest of her novels!
