Since l love English mysteries, I enjoyed it so much. Great characters, lots of suspense, and I will definitely follow this series.
It followed the style of Agatha Christie and seemed very authentic to the time period of the setting.
Very entertaining.
Ok read.
Interesting all the way through!
Improbable coincidences but characterization and discriptions make the mystery interesting.
I like Posie, the protagonist, but this novel requires that the reader be familiar with the earlier books in the series. I want mysteries to be completely stand alone.
a bit contrived
Fun read. It was a mystery with cute characters. Nice rainy day or beach read.
a fun easy , enjoyable read.
This a well-written tale that includes all the special effects of old-time crime novels: a small group of eccentric people trapped in a mansion during a blizzard, and the main character–Posie Parker–supposedly just there to oversee the exchange of a document essential for world peace for an obscene amount of money at midnight. Naturally everything goes down the toilet (literally in some cases), nobody is who they seem and a significant portion of the small population isn’t who they say they are, either.
This was my first Posie Parker mystery and the one thing I could have done without was an ending that included the Big Reveal of someone who was obviously a key character in previous books. Consequently, I found the ending less enjoyable than I’d hoped. Hence, 4 stars instead of 5.
I enjoyed this well written Mystery with historical details and surprise a female business owner And trusted associate of the Scotland Yard.
I’d give this 4.5 stars. If it weren’t for an apparently ongoing thru the series subplot of some criminal besotted with her and wanting to have her to himself rearing up at the end I would have liked it even better. The plot and characters were somewhat bizarre, as 1/2 of them weren’t who they were pretending to be, as spies and Scotland Yard converged on an isolated house by the sea to try to get the plans for a new airplane. But there were several subplots going too. You didn’t know what was really going on until the end. Quite a mystery.
A fascinating tale with a plot to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Thank you!!
I loved it. The character were super. I figured out a couple things but I never expected the, ending. I am usually pretty good at figuring it out. I just could not put it down. My first book by her, super.
Good historical details. Great character development. Lots of wonderful suspects and plot twists. I would recommend this book.
Information about the time period interesting
