Named by Amazon as an All-Star – top 100 best selling books on Kindle. Dianne has been named by Amazon as one of the most popular authors on Kindle for six months!
Was it the environmental activist enamored with spotted owls, someone from the local Native American tribe, Jeff’s son, Jeff’s wife, or his wife’s lover? Join Kelly, the owner of Kelly’s Koffee Shop, her boxer dog, Rebel, and her … and her fiancé, Mike, the county sheriff, as they try and catch the person who killed Jeff Black.
Well, it’s not as if no one wanted Jeff dead. He had enemies. There were a lot of people who didn’t want to see his property turned into a commercial hotel and spa. Finding suspects won’t be hard to do, but finding out who killed him will be. No one would ever nominate Jeff for the “Most Popular Citizen Award.” This is going to be a nightmare for Mike. I wonder how I can help him, Kelly thought.
Murder at Jade Cove is another mouth-watering Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery with recipes!

I really like this author’s books because it is like going on a vacation while I listen an audiobook or read an ebook all over the United States. This had a lot of the ingredients in a story I enjoy; love, mystery, dogs, a murder to solve and good characters.
I enjoyed reading this story. Even though it’s the second in a series, I had no problem following the story and characters. Just as a major project is about to start on a gorgeous piece of property, the owner is found, murdered. There are a number of suspects. Kelly owns a coffee shop and her boyfriend Mike is the sheriff. Kelly can’t help herself – she continues to investigate the murder, even though she promises not too.
I enjoyed the story and the characters. I’m in the middle of a Dianne Harman pile of books right now and I’ve become a fan. This book is good for young adult to adult readers.
I listened to the audio version of the book and I enjoyed listening to the narrator. She does a great job with the story and she even does character voices.
Murder at Jade Cove (Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery #2), my fifth read/listen from author Dianne Harman and the second book in the highly enjoyable Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery series, and perhaps the best of her books I’ve read to date. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Erin deWard’s excellent narration adds to an excellent book’s enjoyment. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Kelly is at it again! She has herself involved in the middle of a murder case again. And her fiancé Mike, who is the county sheriff, Is not happy about it. The owner of a huge property that was going to be turned into a commercial development is found murdered. Kelly tries to figure out who is behind the murder. She heads out with her dog Rebel to talk to different people who could have been involved. There’s lots of suspects in the story. There’s romance and secrets. And puppies! And some more yummy recipes!
The Black Ranch is again a center of controversy. There’s lots of new happenings, both good and bad, in this one, as Kelly and some of the familiar characters wade through another murder.
4 Star review Murder At Jade Cove (A Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery #2) by Dianne Harman
Audio Review:
Dianne Harman is a relatively new author to me although I have listened to the narrator Erin deWard before. If you are an animal lover and enjoy cozy mysteries then this is for you.
There were so many people that wanted the victim dead but it is up to Mike, the sheriff of Beaver County, Oregon and his fiancee Kelly of Kelly’s Koffee Shop to follow the clues and solve the murder before more danger rears it’s head.
There were plenty of clues to follow as I tried to beat Mike and Kelly to solve the crime. The narration by Erin deWard was good and did justice to the story.
DNF!!!
I abandoned this after 32 pages. The writing style is awkward to me. It’s all… “Mike, I’m going to do this..” and “Kelly, that’s very interesting…” “I know Mike, blah blah blah…” “So Kelly, der der der…” No one always uses the other person’s name in almost every single sentence when they talk to them. It’s irritating and unrealistic.
Also the author writes the dialogue of the son of the Indian Chief like something out of a bad B movie from the 40’s: “Just because some politicians say it’s okay, doesn’t make it right. In fact, the Great Spirit knows it’s wrong. That’s probably why Jeff Black is dead. The Great Spirit took care of something the politicians screwed up.”
And Jeff Black is almost always referred to as Jeff Black even though there doesn’t seem to be another Jeff in this story.
I really don’t care who killed Jeff… I mean Jeff Black.
Once again Dianne Harman has done a lovely job of taking us on a murder. Erin deWard is wonderful with her narrative too. I truly enjoy this series. I have listened and read the books in this series and both are well done and very entertaining. I was gifted this audiobook with the understanding I would leave an honest review and so I have.
