In order to solve the troubling puzzle, Ginger and her good friend Haley Higgins recreate a soirée hosted in 1913 by Ginger’s late father, George Hartigan. A shadow of suspicion is cast on her father’s legacy, and Ginger isn’t so sure she wants to know the truth about the man she dearly loved.

Researching for the Ginger Gold Mysteries has been so much fun. I hope you sense that as you read. Ginger Gold is smart, savvy, and delightful. The fashions, the dances, the CRIME. The character of Haley Higgins, a medical student at the London Medical School for Women allows me to further delve into another keen interest of mine: forensics. Never fear, the Ginger Gold Mysteries are COZY, so no scary, graphic on-stage violence. You’ll find these books to be clean reads, with no swearing or sex. I hope you enjoy the Ginger Gold Mystery series!
Hop aboard the 1920s!

Great story, enjoy the character development. Will be looking for more by this author.
Smart, gutsy characters. Good plot, unpredictable. One can see where numerous books could be written around the main characters. Looking forward to reading more of the series!
The protagonist, Ginger, is likable and I quickly got interested in her, her environment and the mystery. I’ll be reading more of this series, for sure.
Lady Ginger Gold finds herself stumbling onto a mysterious death. She insinuates herself into a partnership with Scotland Yard Inspector Basil Reed to solve the case. A delightful historical mystery with engaging characters. I will look for future adventures with Lady Gold.
enjoyed it during a snow storm! Fun!
Loved the historical detail.
Great mystery read.
I read this book in 2 sittings. Entertaining and interesting. I was surprised at the ending. So fun.
Why would the heroine have time change issues when she travels to London from New York by ship ? Author needs to check on this type of detail mistake which mars her story
Flapper detective, with style

Murder in the Empty Room
(Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.) Murder at Hartigan House: the second book in the Ginger Gold Mystery, a cozy historical mystery series, by Lee Strauss picks up where Murder on the SS Rosa left off. Hartigan House has the same protagonist Ginger Gold as well as the other two main characters critical to the storyline. Immediately it is clear that this murder-mystery is going to be rooted in English tradition as the main character transitions from Mrs. Ginger Gold to Lady Ginger Gold. Lee Strauss, the author, once again has done an amazing job with world and character building in post-World War I England. As a reader, the world after the war is so realistic that it is the larger details that make the story jump off the pages, motor cars next to horse and carriage, walking or sitting in the English parks, the smaller details sharpen and focus while the remaining act of coloring in the details of the environment where the characters interacted. As the reader, I would call it a success because each page turned was one more where I felt as if the story was enveloping me like a comfy blanket surrounding me with the story versus standing outside looking in. The demand for the characters was no different and the author not only met but exceeded expectations. Yet we still need to explore a critical input that without it regardless of great world and character building there would be no success and that’s the storyline, the plot. And it did not disappoint. It served up intrigue, murder, mystery romance, nefarious actions, suspicion and dubious acts, with an ending that was a classic “whodunit”, what? surprise killer. I WOULD RECOMMEND READING Murder at Hartigan House: a cozy historical mystery (A Ginger Gold Mystery Book 2) By Lee Strauss. I WOULD RECOMMEND READING Murder at Hartigan House: a cozy historical mystery (A Ginger Gold Mystery Book 2) By Lee Strauss.
I read this book as I didn’t know the author and really enjoyed it. Saw that it was book two in the series, so now I am reading the first book. That should tell you how much I liked her books.
Entertaining cozy mystery.
Took me a while to figure who done it. Good read.
Liked the characters and the story.
This is the second book by this author I have read, and I haven’t guessed the murderer in either one. Most impressive , I usually do know and only finish the book to verify my guess. I will continue with this series because I do enjoy not knowing until the end!
I’m really enjoying this whole series and have already pre ordered the next book to be published.
