Researching for the Ginger Gold Mysteries has been so much fun. I hope you sense that as you read. Ginger Gold is smart, savvy, and delightful. The fashions, the dances, the CRIME. The character of Haley Higgins, a medical student at the London Medical School for Women allows me to further delve into another keen interest of mine: forensics. Never fear, the Ginger Gold Mysteries are COZY, so no scary, graphic on-stage violence. You’ll find these books to be clean reads, with no swearing or sex. I hope you enjoy the Ginger Gold Mystery series!
Hop aboard the 1920s!

Another wonderful mystery with the classy Ginger Gold and the closed off Inspector Basil Reed taking place at her London home. As Ginger finds out secrets to pass along to Basil, Ginger is confused about her feelings for Basil, especially since he has an estranged spouse. Or maybe the wife is non existent. Ginger will decide if she will stay in England or return to Boston if the killer doesn’t make the decision for her. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.
Love this series. Characters are fun, witty, smart, and these are just a fun read. Love cozy mysteries and these are some of the best.
Enjoy the strong woman character

An excellent mystery story witth a touch of romance.
I only made it half way through. Kept waiting for it to get to the point. Very disappointing.
Enjoyed it.
This for me, was a page turner. I really liked the characters and the story.
A fun, entertaining mystery set in the Roaring Twenties. If you are a Miss Fischer fan, you’ll enjoy this with a cup of tea or cocoa.
I enjoyed all the Ginger Gold mysteries!
This was an easy-to-read light mystery, with nothing offensive in it.
Great beach book reading
Ginger Gold returns to London only to find a desiccated corpse locked in the servant’s quarters of Hartigan House. Since the house has been closed and unoccupied for ten years, identifying the body and catching the murderer seems an insurmountable problem. Haley Higgins is attending medical school in London, so Ginger is on her own in solving the mystery. With the help of Inspector Basil Reed, Ginger decides to hold a soiree, inviting the same guests as had attended the soiree at which the young woman had been killed. As usual, there is a romantic frisson between Ginger and Basil. Ginger’s former in-laws also get thrown into the story, and Scout makes a cameo appearance. The plot is fairly slowly paced, and that is one characteristic that makes the book pleasing.
I enjoyed this book.
Great read, great fashions and enjoyable plot.
There’s nothing quite like returning to ye olde family home and finding the desiccated remains of a woman’s body in a locked room… Unless it’s discovering that the room was locked on the orders of one’s adored–but sadly deceased–father. Or maybe having your dog drag out the woman’s desiccated finger from under the bed.
Welcome to the word of Ginger Gold, a Golden Age woman who adores the latest fashions and takes time out from arranging a party for those in attendance the day the dead woman died to redecorate a few rooms in the most modern style. A woman who hasn’t driven on the left side of the road in 10 years who thinks the best way to remember is drive a large old luxury car to downtown London. A woman who hires a street urchin to do surveillance because she knows the poverty-stricken child would never accept a hand-out. A woman who did some sort of secret work in her past that enables her to draw a concealed gun from her garter when a shifty character tries to sneak out of her party and threaten to blow him a way. And a woman who can re-holster (-garter?) her gun, much to the surprise of Inspector Basil Reed or who may not be married among other things he may or may not be too.
Ginger Gold is the kind of best friend every woman would love to have, and the kind of best friend every woman wishes she could be. This isn’t to say that Ginger’s life doesn’t involve danger, sadness, or man-problems, but she handles them like a woman instead of an angst-ridden teen.
I really enjoyed this mystery. I had no idea who was guilty until the author told me.
Thank you for an entertaining experience. I look forward to reading more of these mysteries.
