I love these mysteries with Mary and Betty. They are best friends, are close as sisters and always have each other’s back. This adventure they thought they were going to have a break from murder and enjoy a vacation. Well helping Mary’s cousin Stephanie repair and setup her new camp for needy kids. It was not to be. They hadn’t been there an hour before a murder acquired and someone desperately wants them not to leave. Mary diligently starts trying to figure out who is behind this whole ordeal.
I love this awesome adventure with The Girls. I will say Betty held up really well and confident enough to add her ideals about the murder. She was determined to stick by Mary’s side and not let anybody harm her.
Everybody could use a friend like Betty. She is that ride or die friend.

I can’t believe that this series is already at book 5. It seems like it just started 🙂 In this one, Mary and Betty are driving from Tennessee to Oregon to help her cousin set up a new camp. They both have a bad feeling when they drive onto the grounds of the camp even tho it is a beautiful setting. Their fears turn to reality as a body is found. They have to solve the murder to keep her cousin out of trouble and get the camp up and running.

Cousin Stephanie wanted to buy a camp to give poor children a chance to spend summers in the woods. Into the bargain she got a greedy lawyer, disputed tribal lands and inheritance, and a slew of nasty men.
Naturally, Mary and fainting Betty come along to help get the camp set up and wind up mucked up in the middle of the mess.
A few good men and heroes are met along with an awful throng of evil men.
Brave hearts and strong souls might yet win out.
Intense period piece.

I absolutely love this author with her great and spooky stories. This is one of my favorites as I have discovered. It is filled with action as Mary and Betty try to open a camp for underprivileged kids. Things keep happening until you have bitten off all of your fingernails. Or at least I did. Great book as usual.

Nothing is ever as it seems. Written by one of my fav authors, Ms. Meadows uses her finesse to hold the reader captive as you breathlessly turn the pages wondering where the story will take you. She never disappoints and this is another magnificent read! Easy to read, clean and keeps your mind totally engrossed in the story. Well done!
Mary and Betty travel to help Stephanie set up her new camp. They find more than they thought, when greed, deception, and murder follow them. Murder at Camp is a suspense filled mystery that I recommend.

Good friends Mary Holland and Betty Mavery take a trip to Oregon to help cousin Stephanie prepare and fix up “Snow Leaf Camp” she had recently bought to be used by needy children this summer. It was so nice to be away from their past troubles and out here enjoying nature’s beauty, despite Betty’s sadness over her mother’s dating a man in his 70’s when, at her age, she should be staying at home, reading and baking cookies!
But as soon as they arrived Mary felt an unseen danger at the camp and tried to shrug it off as leftover paranoia from four murder cases recently solved. But within an hour, her intuition proved correct when Dylan ran up to them and said Jennifer had collapsed on the trail! They assumed it was a sudden heart attack, but as they waited for the sheriff, Jennifer’s face and extremities began to swell and her lips turned an odd color! Did Dylan and/or Tom murder her?
The women decided to keep quiet about their suspicions, especially as Tom and Dylan came back down the trail with a blanket and a gun! They told the women that someone had slashed all the tires — someone apparently didn’t want them to leave! The total fear on Dylan’s face told Mary that somewhere out in the deep woods, the real killer was lurking. Can Mary figure out who the murderer is and how they can escape being the next victims?
This was a well-written story that kept the reader’s interest as soon as Mary felt the danger when they arrived at the camp. At that point, the story line took off and the suspense built rapidly. The characters were portrayed well as they reacted to what was happening around them. Grab your copy and settle back for an exciting read!

Murder at Camp by Wendy Meadows is set in the 1940s during the WWII. All Mary just wants the war to be over and her husband home safe. To keep her mind off the War, Mary and Betty set out on road trip to help her cousin get an old sumner camp she recently bought ready for for use by needy children. As usual, trouble seems to go where Mary goes, and this trip is no different. Shortly after Mary and Betty arrive at the camp, someone drops dead.
This is a cute entertaining read without any steamy scenes.

Love the time period that this book, and series, is based on. The second world war was raging overseas and Mary just wants the war to be over and her husband to come home. But things at home are not always as quiet and mundane as you may think. Wherever Mary travels to, trouble seems to follow. The characters in this series are wonderful. They embody the innocence that prevailed in the 1940’s. The plot and world building truly make the story pop right out and grab you. You will want to stay in this place for a long time. Sadly, the story ends, but hopefully another adventure waits in the next book. Highly recommend this book to all cozy mystery lovers.
Wow!!! Think you know where you are going and Bam another surprise!!!! Lots of intrigue to keep you on the edge and reading. Will not want to put down.
Lots of rabbit trails to follow but will they lead you to the killers? Especially when you are aware that someone is definitely guilty in the beginning. Question is why, who slashed the tires and what is going on?
Betty may have an issues with being upright but she comes through when needed. GO Betty!!
I was amazed at how fast this book moved and all the twist and turns.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
