A celebrity wedding in a small Irish village goes from festive to funerary when the best man is murdered in this cozy mystery novel. Any wedding is a big deal in the County Cork village of Kilbane, but with a local lad marrying a famous fashion model at Kilbane Castle, there’s no talk of anything but the upcoming nuptials. Siobhán O’Sullivan and her five siblings have their plates full catering … plates full catering the three-day affair from their bistro. But the celebratory mood suddenly turns sober when the best man is found murdered in the woods.
For Siobhán, the tragic turn is more than grist for the gossip mill. Her beau, Macdara Flannery, is the prime suspect—and she intends to clear his name. Now, like the bride walking down the aisle, Siobhán needs to watch her step. For as she gets closer to unveiling the truth, the murderer is planning a very chilly reception for her.

Another charming addition in this cozy mystery series set in an Irish village!
Amazing! Usually I get mad when I don’t solve the case before the reveal but not this time. I was totally confused about who the killer was ( to many misdirections) but it was still extremely good .
I’m loving this series. Siobhan is such a wonderful character. I’m this one we got to see more of her siblings. They have such personalities.
Great addition to the series. Ending had me wanting to start the next right away!
Too many cliches!
Took a bit to get used to the language but very entertaining
Love the characters, story keeps you readiyou don’t want to put it down. Love the picture she paints of the Irish countryside and the customs! Wonderful book love the series!
Page turner
Great example of a “Cosy mystery”. And what could be better than one set in a small Irish village with quirky characters, family intrigue and plenty of Guinness. I enjoyed every minute of my rainy day read.
It was Ok. not the best book That I have read. Slow in some places.
Easy reading
I enjoy this series. Original and creative stories. Love learning about the Irish customs!
This book dragged for me and some of the characters were very unrealistic in their dialog and reactions.
This book combines two of my favorite things: anything Irish and cozy mysteries! It is the second book in the series and I enjoyed getting to better know the characters that I believe will come back in book 3.
Good read
Have read two books in this series. Enjoyed them both.
Not humorous as it was hyped to be, Rather dull
Had me wondering till the very end.
I liked the Irish setting.
“Murder at an Irish Wedding” earns 5/5 Shillelaghs!
The Irish countryside may be quaint, but watch out for the dead bodies! Following up her success with “Murder in an Irish Village,” O’Connor brings us “Murder at an Irish Wedding” (February 2017). The bistro is finding great popularity with villagers and tourists including getting a catering opportunity for the wedding of a celebrity couple. It’s a three-day affair which along with being in front and behind-the-scenes to the nuptials of a famous model their business’s bottom line could greatly improve. But the best man gets booted for his drunken tirade, and Garda Macdara Flannery, Siobhán love interest, steps in because he knows the groom. However, he becomes a “person of interest” when the best man is found murdered, and evidence points in his direction. Siobhán uses her close connection to Macdara to insinuate herself into the investigation…isn’t it illegal to impersonate yourself as an officer of the law? Well, if she didn’t, there might be another miscarriage of justice.
Good follow up book. I continue to be a big fan! Carlene O’Connor has thrown in a wide range of suspects and motives, and like most cozies, it’s the amateur that takes the lead, but she doesn’t circumvent the Garda (Irish police); she helps boyfriend/Garda Macdara clear his name and finds she has a knack, if not a desire to be less amateur and more official. The suspects and motives seem to be plenty with a slow enough reveal to keep me engaged. I enjoy the Irish references and language, but disappointingly the Guide in book one is not available in book two. Although I enjoyed the mystery with its twists and turns, it is the characters in which I am invested. The close knit nature of the “O’Sullivan Six” adds a bit of reality, enough quirky humor, and although residents of Killbane may be portrayed with some stereotypes, I still enjoyed it all. Great series to enjoy during St. Patrick’s Day with a cup of tea, green beer, or a shot of whiskey! Enjoy the Emerald Isle!
