No cake until she solves the case – it isn’t fair!
Sabrina and Detective David Carlson have had problems with Jim Hartley but that is all in the past. He and Kaitlin have a wonderful relationship and as one of their friends, they couldn’t be happier for her. That all changes when Jim is found murdered and one of the prime suspects may end their friendship with Kaitlin forever. It will take plenty of sweets to provide the brain food Sabrina and David need to solve this case.
This is a great cozy mystery series! Meredith Potts does a good job of developing the characters and building their history from book to book. I can’t wait for the next book.
A tried and tested plot, Sabrina and David need to track down yet another killer in their small town. I’m surprised there’s anyone left in treasure cove!
It’s an enjoyable enough cozy mystery.
This is a fun cozy series. The storyline moves at a quick pace but there are several twists and turns along the way to keep you guessing and entertained. The characters are likable but I don’t see a real-life detective carrying his wife along on his investigations if she isn’t a police officer too. Even though I didn’t find this aspect realistic the book is still a read.
.
The book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone mystery but reading the books in order can help you understand the backstory of the characters a little better. I recommend this to cozy mystery fans.
I voluntarily agreed to read a copy of this book supplied by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.
This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this book, it’s another light easy to follow along with cozy mystery from Meredith Potts. It was nice to hear about some familiar faces from the town of Treasure Cove. It is a story you can pick up and put down without losing what is happening great for running around town listening too! Just maybe not around Treasure Cove, with all the murders and strange happenings.
Sabrina and David are investigating another murder but things seem all wrapped up quickly and easily when a suspect confess to the killing But something doesn’t seem right and Sabrina keeps digging until there is only one possible suspect left but is she right? And will the real killer confess.
I like the narrator and hope to hear more books read by her.
Murder and Vanilla Cake
Mysteries of Treasure Cove, Book 6
By: Meredith Potts
Narrated by: Carrie Burgess
This small town has had it’s share of murders, and this one brings out all the usual suspects! Sabrina and David are once again immersed in interrogation, crazy alibis and the best vanilla cake in Treasure Cove! I love these books, and when I saw that Jim Hartley, the owner of the mattress emporium was the victim this time, I couldn’t wait to see who would be the killer. With her intuitive style, Sabrina goes off, checking on business acquaintances, ex-girlfriends, and any one else that may have had a problem with this very nice, very easy going man. And don’t forget the cameo by their daughter Jessica! Always fun to catch up with the community of Treasure Cove, though it would nice to go just to have dessert and not have a murder! This poor town! Narrated by Carrie Burgess, she continues to bring this fun, cozy series to life with her lively performances.

Crazy! The whole Treasure Cove series was filled with cheating, murder and unique characters. I’m not going to be forgetting this series anytime soon.
Another delightful cozy featuring detective David and his unpaid sleuth wife Sabrina solving another murder in the small town of Treasure Cove! Always an interesting cast of characters, unexpected plot twists, and really odd red herrings. The publisher’s blurb is good enough for recap, and no spoilers would do, so just enjoy! I certainly did!
Carrie Burgess is good at differentiating characters!
Sabrina and David are at it again, solving a murder that is. What a fun series, the twists and turns in the plot, and the suspect pool is so full it is overflowing. Sabrina and David have to work hard to find the killer. They also have to send their daughter Jessica out of town again with Sabrina’s parents to keep her safe. This series has grown along with the characters and is very entertaining. Love the series and will keep reading everything Ms. Potts writes.
