When her boyfriend inherits an ancient vineyard in France, Maggie Newberry quits her job in Atlanta to accompany him for a year abroad. They settle in the tiny village of St-Buvard, but murder has gone long before them and follows close behind.
Murder à la Carte brings Atlanta copywriter and southern belle Maggie Newberry to the brink of two connected murders—both committed in her home—and both … her home—and both poised to threaten everything she holds dear. When Maggie agrees to move to France with her boyfriend—a French ex-confidence man who has just inherited a house and vineyard—she doesn’t expect her year of French market shopping and weekend trips to Paris to be interrupted by a vicious murder in her living room. Or that the bloody violence that occurred on their front doorstep sixty years earlier after the end of the Second World War might be connected. If you want to save the price of a ticket to the south of France this year, pick up Murder a la Carte instead. It will give you a delicious escape into the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of Provence — all tucked nicely within the framework of a tightly woven mystery that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

An enjoyable weekend read.
Love all her books!!
A cute cosy mystery. Love the books where her pal Grace isn’t in them. Can’t understand why anyone would want to be friends with her.
It was only fair, characters a little hard to believe
This is yet another in this series that begins in Atlanta and transitions to Provence. The characters are wonderful
And the settings are fun — the south of France. Loved it!
Love Maggie Newberry mysteries. Some are flawed & I’m always rooting for our super sleuth.
This entire series is a WINNER! I gobbled up this one – and all the others as well! Wonderful setting in France & the events the heroine encounters are utterly believable if you’ve traveled at all outside of this country! HIGHLY RECOMMEND the entire series!
This is the first Susan Kieran-Lewis book I have read. It was entertaining. The characters were given just enough of a description that I was able to fill in the details and picture them in my head. A good description of how one feels when they move to a new country. Would recommend it.
Cozy mystery category, 3.5 overall, light reading
Great book. Great series.
Good plot, tho at times, a little convoluted. But Maggie’s planned year in France didn’t exactly go the way she thought it would. Good description of the rural French setting. Makes you wish you were there!
Love her whole Murder series set in France!!
