Sunnyside Retirement Witches Community gets its fair share of visitors. Some of them like the entertainment and others enjoy volunteering. But when one of the sight-seers ends up dead, Zoey Rivers has to figure out what happened. The residents come up with a fantastic idea: Since the retirement complex seems to have more than its fair share of murders, they figure it might be a good idea to have … idea to have a psychic on staff.
So, Zoey hires Iris. And all the information she pulls from the ghosts of the growing list of victims points to Zoey herself.
Except the clues aren’t pointing to her. They’re fingering someone she’d thought was long dead.

I really enjoyed this book with its quirky characters. This is book three in what is turning out to be a really fun and enjoyable series, you don’t need to read the books in order because they are stand alone books but if you like mysteries, humour and elderly witches that get up to all sorts of mischief by design or wonkey magic then start at the beginning and enjoy. The cast of characters is what makes this series for me, the different personalities that have come together to make a family, works well and the magic has added a fun element with all the trouble it causes. It is a light hearted mystery, with a not very complicated mystery. It was obvious who the bad guy was and there weren’t that many suspects but it was still a lot of fun getting there. I can’t wait for the next book.
When a visitor dies after paying a visit to one of the elderly residents at the Sunnyside retired witches community, Zoey never dreamed that she would become the prime suspect or that the deaths would have a connection to her past. Sorry reading one of the residents might be behind it sets out to investigate, as all the residents are like family to her. The elderly residents feel the same way about Zoey and they set out to clear her name, even in that means tampering with evidence or placing ward’s to the police can’t enter and arrest her. With everybody working hard on solving the murder will they be able to solve it before somebody dies. Or are they leaving themselves open to attack from within?
I liked the narrator and thought she did a good job with the wide range of male and female voices needed for the story.

Zoey’s long lost mother shows up at the retirement home but something is off. At first she seems to be a ghost but then demons are implicated. Two murders look like they are being blamed on her mom so it is up to Zoey and the residents of the retirement home to prove who really is behind it all
This is a wonderful paranormal cozy mystery with a multitude of quirky characters. The characters are use great, they seem to come alive and keep you interested in the storyline until the end. The mystery is full of numerous situations, twists and surprises that keep you guessing. I enjoyed the interplay between Zoey and her parents and how Zoey copes with past betrayals and pain. This is a wonderfully written story that is sure to be of enjoyment to anyone who loves cozy mysteries.
Fun, quick enjoyable read. Love Zoey and all the characters in the retirement community. The twists and turns makes it a page turner.

This is a part of a series but could be red alone. Although if it is your first you will want to read the previous books. Following Zoey and her retirement home residents as they try to solve a murder is entertaining and has lots of twists and turns in it. and well the love life is taking a few hits too.

This third edition to this series was full of surprises and action packed. Zoey’s family is introduced and past issues brought up. The staff dynamics change and are explored. All this while there is a murder, which must be solved. Excellent book. Put aside time to read straight through!
I received this book as an ARC through Booksprout, and I am voluntarily supplying my honest opinion of the work.
I must say that I did not see it coming! All the surprises that occurred were just crazy! But I loved how things were resolved in the end. Family can be related or chosen and either can be wonderful! And apparently not all demons are bad, but some are.

I’ve been with this series since the first installment, and it just keeps getting better. The old-folks at the Sunnyside Home for retired witches has become a family you love to visit. But somebody gets murdered, and if it weren’t for Zoey solving all the mysteries, somebody might get hurt . . . . A very comfortable story; I can’t wait for the next installment!

Mummy Issues
Paula Lester
A great book in this series. This is the third book. I think that the title stands for mummy (mommy), as she is found not dead but alive after 10 years.
This book is entertaining! The plot is awesome as the story line is as well. All the residents in the Sunnyside retirement home for paranormals are hysterical and there’s always something going on. I love it

This is book 3 to the Sunnyside Retired Witches Community Series, but can be read as a stand alone. I had only read the book 2 in this series, but have already bought the Prequel to get myself caught up with the history of some of Sunnysides residents.
This contains a bit of mystery, mischief, and hints at the possibility of romance. Great story line, humorous and delightful. Awesome characters that are a hoot. Fantastic description to details and entertaining dialogue.
All in all a fantastic read and can not wait for more.

Finally we come to know more about Zoey and her past. What happened in her past, what happened to her family, is she going to go steady with Steve?
The answers to so many questions can be found in this book. In fact, this happens to be the most power & magic packed book in this series yet. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Best one yet!!! This series is getting better.
This story has ‘more meat on the bone’ than previous ones. It was edgier?, kept me reading and not wanting to put it down. I was looking for answers.
What defines family: one born into or one that you create?
This book was really engaging, so much going on: family issues, finding who committed the murder and why, helping the clients, possibly adding a new member, Kelli, and relationships.
Had a couple of issues: first is the cover made think it was going to be a mummy involved. I was intrigued. Just got the play on words when writing this. Second, Zoey would start to figure out how to communicate with someone with no words but never followed through. I knew what to do early one. i also felt that the issue of why protecting was left unfinished, was expecting more. Maybe more in the next book?
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
So as I write this review of this cute book, I am confused on the title..or the cover of the mummy since their are no mummies in the book. Mothers yes, someone who was thought to be dead…but not creepy corpses.

Zoe after 10 years finds out her mother is stay alive and stealing her shoes and then her father shows up and he’s a jerk. One of the regulars us suspected of murder so Zoe has to find the killer but she finds some ghosts and a demon energy all in a days work right. Awesome series I love Zoe and all the other characters.
Sunnyside Retirement Witches Community has another murder nearby, and again one of her elderly witches is a suspect. To help her have a place at the home she officially hires Iris, a psychic, her services being paid with rent-free living at the Community.
The clues the psychic gives are confusing, but lead to a surprising suspect.
Like the other stories of Zoey and her crew it is a fun read – entertaining and humorous.

Light, fun read for a sunny afternoon by the pool or curled up in a blanket at night. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
As head of a witch’s retirement home, Zoey takes the daily crazy in stride but seeing her parents again, especially her mother, throws her for a loop. We get to learn more about her back story in this book, and find out what happened to her mother all those years ago. I enjoy the madcap nature of the series as well as the humor and characters. I look forward to reading more about the family reunion in the next book.
