The cover drew me in and the story did not disappoint. Brilliantly written with completely immersive settings and characters I wanted to grab by the shoulders and shake some sense into. Mrs. Kimble follows the lives of three women, all of them captivated and drawn in through the years by one man, a serial husband of sorts. Though not much is known …
This was a good book. Took me a while to get into it but once I did I really enjoyed it. Good easy reading historical fiction.,
As I read this book, I was like “what is this guy going to do next?” It seemed he had endless ability to re-create himself. The ending helped because the book was fairly sad in itself, but it was a study in fallen character. Very moving.
A dramatic story of the three women who married an opportunistic social chameleon.
Reminiscent of the show ‘Imposters’, the well thought out plot weaves through each woman’s life as they become involved with the Mr. Kimble that is just perfect for them, until he isn’t.
Written in alternating narratives, this slow paced story is divided amongst …
I wasn’t sure as I went along that I was actually enjoying the read but kept going and found it to be a really good story. I do recommend it. The writing is actually quite good.
I really liked this book. The ending was a bit disappointing but for the most part it was a good read.
You’ve met this man dozens of times and he has created havoc and sadness wherever he passes.
Husband was a piece of work.. the wives were each unique In personality and how they dealt with the husband.
A good summer read !
Fascinating story of the Mrs Kimbles. I enjoyed the book but wish it had been a bit shorter. Some sections seemed very drawn out.
Enjoyed this book. Anyone even considering dating an older divorced man a must read. Why oh why do smart women go for these older not so great men.
Very interesting.
Pointless.
Depressing.
The beautiful writing and depth of the characters.
Left me feeling happy I have the great husband that I have. Sad to know there are me like Ken Kimball
Three wives, all three are different. Ken Kimble marries these ladies for different reasons and also leaves them. One he leaves with children and the other one he doesn’t.
Despite his leaving they manage to carry on their lives.
You want to hate him, but you can’t….the story is well told. I love the cover with the three dresses that are …
I don’t know how I felt about this book. On one hand, it was a fast read. The words flowed, the story didn’t lag, the pages turned with ease. But on the other, it was so sad. Not that there’s anything that prevents a sad book from being really good. It wasn’t that the characters were unlikable, though I didn’t ever feel any sort of connection to …
