My name is Noel Winters. I was born on Christmas Day.AND I just met a stunning woman named Holly Frost. Is this for real? There’s only one minor problem……she’s not a fan of the holiday season, hates decorations, and avoids listening to Christmas music.Maybe a baking competition, one homemade yule log cake, and an extra dash of spice will change her mind. The man card series is a collection of … mind.

Noel Winter and Holly Frost are set up on a blind date. They were both born on Christmas, and have holiday themed names. They should be perfect together, right? Except he’s all about Christmas, and she’s not. He convinces her to be his partner in a baking competition. Will they win? Can he melt her walls and make her see what she’s missing? What a cute book! It’s sweet and steamy, and I love the characters together. This is a terrific finish to the series, and I’m sorry to see it end.

Holly Frost does not like her name as much as she doesn’t like Christmas. After her mother won a bet with her father, Holly was given the name that would haunt her and turn her into a Scrooge. Noel Winters resembles his name in the sense that he loves to decorate every possible room in the house and dance to Christmas music. Noel’s sister, Peyton, and Holly’s friend, Nova, think it might be fun to bring them together on a blind date. given their unique names. It doesn’t go real well, at first, when Holly discovers his name, but he convinces her to at least stay for dinner. They do enjoy their time together and Noel thinks he’s the person to show her the beauty of the season. Noel is a self-taught baker whose specialty is spice cake, hence, the nickname Mr. Spice Cake. Holly was a food blogger back in Michigan so Noel sees another way to show her how to enjoy Christmas. There is a baking competition coming up with Yule Logs as the item being baked and judged. Noel convinces her to help him and it turns out to be just what they both needed. Baking together isn’t all that they do and they definitely heat up the whole house. It’s a sweet romance with a perfectly written storyline and characters for the Christmas season. Delightful!

I have to admit I first decided to read this book after I had read one of Terra Kelly’s other books, My Sugar Cookie. And I was absolutely thrilled to find out that the male lead in this story was none other than Noel Winters from the previous story. He finds himself set up on a blind date by his sister and her friend with a woman named Holly Frost. Besides both of them having holiday inspired names, they were both also born on Christmas. That is where their love for holidays become vastly different. Noel has decided to embrace his name and its uniqueness and goes over-the-top when it comes to anything Christmas. Holly, on the other hand, has taken the opposite approach and despises the holidays, as well as her name.
When Noel’s cousin Alex has to cancel on him last minute prior to a baking competition, he decides to ask Holly to help him. He does so in hopes or getting her out of her scrooge-funk that she has found herself in. Once she decides to let her hate for the holidays go and enjoy the holly jolly season, she becomes a very likeable character. I have to say I liked Noel’s character both in this book and in the previous story he was in. After reading this and its predecessor story, I really want to go back and read Terra Kelly’s other “Man Card” books…this is #16. Great job and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

A Christmas freak and Scrooge go on a blind date………….what happens now?
Mr. Spice Cake made me laugh out loud at so many things. This story is just pure spicy sweetness. The story-line was engaging and the characters of Holly and Noel were both great. They were witty, interesting, she was a bit snarky and he just loved the holiday. I really enjoyed reading this addition to the Man Card series by Terra Kelly.
Holly Frost has come back to Charlotte, NC after living in Michigan for the last a few years working as a writer and where she started a food blog. She was born on Christmas day but yet hates all things Christmas related and is what you would call a “Scrooge”. Her mother won a bet with her father and that is how she ended up with her first name being Holly.
Noel Winters was born on Christmas Day and just loves all things Christmas and related. He has a live tree in every room of his house, fully decorated and lit. This includes the kitchen and the bathrooms. He plays and dances to Christmas music and loves to spread the holiday joy to others. One thing he is known for are his spice cookies, where he got his nickname, Mr. Spice Cake, from.
This year Noel applied to be a contestant in the last holiday baking competition of the season in Charlotte and was accepted. The theme is yule log so he has planned on making his spice cake as a yule log. Thanks for Peyton, Noel’s sister, and Nova, Holly’s friend, Holly and Noel are set-up on a blind date. Peyton and Nova think that are a perfect match just given their names. The kick is that they do not know each others names, just where to meet. Once they find out each others names Holly is ready to run out of the restaurant but Noel persuades her to stay for at least eat, as they are both hungry. During dinner as they talk Noel realizes that he needs to unScrooge Holly and starts by inviting her over to his house the next day to eat his special spice cake. Once Holly tries Noel’s special spice cake will he start to change her mind about Christmas? Does Holly really hate Christmas or is it just that she did not want to answer questions about her name to anyone any more?
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Noel Winters was busy decorating his trees – yes, more than one Christmas tree. He loved the Christmas season and fully embraced it! He told his sister, Peyton, that he joined the last holiday baking competition of the season. Only 6 people were chosen to compete, so this was a big honor for him. Cousin Alex agreed to assist him.
Holly Frost had returned home from Michigan and was visiting her friend, Nova, in her coffee shop to see if she had a part-time job she could work for a short time. Peyton came in to say hi and was introduced to Holly. She told her that she really needed to meet her brother, but didn’t tell her his name or why. Holly just hated the season because she was tired of the jokes. She didn’t even decorate at Christmas because people would tease her about living up to her name. In the meantime, Peyton set up a blind date for Holly to meet Noel, thinking the two of them had much in common already! Except that Holly tried to walk out of the restaurant when she heard Noel’s name, until he coaxed her back with the gingerbread cake the restaurant was famous for and which had won awards.
These two were so opposite! Holly hates the Christmas season, hates decorations, and avoids listening to Christmas music. Noel loves his name, and is enthusiastic about celebrating Christmas every way he can, even with multiple Christmas trees! Will he be able to show her what the Christmas Spirit is all about? Will he be able to convince Holly to agree to help him in the baking competition to get her heart in the right place? Grab your copy and enjoy this delightful story!
Holly Frost doesn’t like her name and as such had done away with the celebration of Christmas. She’s back home in her small town and is setup on a blind date with a person called Noel Winters which has her trying to cut and run. She’s discovered by Noel before she is able to pull her disappearing act and the two of them have a wonderful first date despite Holly’s initial misgivings.
This book has the makings of a Hallmark movie, things are very sweet and almost wholesome which is why it was a little jarring when we would have these slightly crass sexual thoughts come out of left field. No problems with getting down and dirty, it’s just a bit disconcerting when you have this almost vanilla like thing going and you suddenly bite into a jalapeno. As I wasn’t feeling the chemistry between these two I pretty much flipped past their sexy times it felt forced to me for some reason.
This is very light and I do mean light reading, you could zone out for a few minutes on something else and really not miss much. Noel is sweet and Holly once she gets past her I hate the holidays thing she is also very sweet. Hate to say I was unfortunately bored for much of the story. Both characters were nice and sweet enough there just wasn’t a lot of substance to the story.

3.5 stars**** He needs an assistant for the local baking competition when his bail. She needs a cheering up for Christmas. They hook up to be baking partners and more. After all of her bad dating decisions, she finally has a winner who respects and appreciates her. Short, sweet, steamy and entertaining read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
I thought that this was a delightful quick read. Be prepared for the overload of cuteness that is Noel and Holly’s story. This book is incredibly funny, sweet, emotional and romantic. It was so easily to fall for Noel and his love for and joy in all things Christmas and it was equally east to feel for and sympathize with the Scrooge-ish feelings of Holly. I loved how these two met and every second of their evolving relationship. This is quite simply a perfect little heartfelt read that is well seasoned with holiday charm.
I fell in love with this book right away. Noel Winters and Holly Frost are quite the pair. Holly hates Christmas because of her name and Noel embraces his and he helps Holly find her Christmas spirit. I truly believe that fate works in mysterious ways and sure enough it happened for this two. It was a great read and who doesn’t love a holiday romance book.

When Noel and Holly are set up by their friends she isn’t having it, until he encourages her to give them a shot. What happens from there is a beautiful beginning where he opens her eyes to what Christmas is all about.

Holly and Noel couldn’t be more opposite on feelings towards Christmas. Holly Frost despises her name, rolls her eyes when someone comments that she is a Christmas baby, and is happy without any Christmas decorations. Noel Winters, a self taught baker, who loves Christmas and isn’t afraid to show how much – which is justified by his multiple Christmas trees set up.
When they end up on a blind date together, things go really well and they get along better than expected. Noel gets Holly to agree to help him in a baking competition, but it’s not only the kitchen that heats up.
Will Noel be able to infect Holly with Christmas spirit and win the baking competition?
I love Terra’s newest story! It’s sweet and funny with the perfect amount of steam to spice up your evening. Noel and Holly are such delightful characters in their own way, and you get a realistic happily ever after for them. This story will definitely leave you smiling.

I really enjoyed this story. Noel and Holly are great characters. Loved the supporting characters as well. Pretty sure Peyton needs a book too!
Noel Winters was born on Christmas Day and just met a gorgeous woman named Holly Frost. Holly isn’t a fan of the holiday season and comes off as kind of a Scrooge. Noel needs help with a baking competition and asks Holly to help him out. Maybe they working together will change her mind, or at least open her up so Noel can get to know her better.
Really enjoyed all the interactions between the characters. Loved how Holly and Noel took turns being the one in charge. Loved the happy ever after. I definitely recommend reading this book.

I really enjoyed the characters Noel and Holly. Their storyline had spicy hot chemistry and was well written. The blind date set up was so cute and the surprise Noel did for Holly was so touching. This was a wonderful addition to the Man Card series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Spicing It Up
Holly and Noel spice it up a bit in this latest installment of insta-love in The Man Card Series. I loved their blind date and with names like theirs is was only a matter of time before they figured out they belong together.
Any book that has baking, cooking, wine or just food in general is in my opinion a winner. That be said Mr. Spice Cake can be added to the winners circle. Thank you Terra for so many great festive-foody books this holiday season.

Yet another great read in the Man Card series! With names like Holly Frost and Noel Winters how could this be anything other than an amazing Christmas story. Holly starts off a bit of a Scrooge, but Noel soon wins her over to the joys of Christmas. Sweet, funny, and with just enough spice make this a must read for the Holiday Season. At 16 books in, the Man Card series is going strong. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
