Book nine in the Calendar Boys series this book had me smiling and then going what a jerk. This is coach Brody Owens, single Mom Morgan Bradley and her teenage son Ethan’s story. That ex of hers was something else. There is suspense, drama, danger, stalking, and romance. I enjoyed reading this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Protector
Nicole is one awesome author! I can say I have enjoyed spending every month with a new guy.
Brody, or AKA Mr September, is a protector, but he never thought that would be how he met the one!
When Nicole tells a story she has you feeling like you are an actual character in the book. You will feel all kinds of emotions, she doesnt just give you love at first sight. She takes you through the ups, downs, hurts and pains. Although love should be easy, it doesnt always happen that way for everyone. Can outside obstacles hurt a relationship or will it help to bond grow closer?
Nicole has a creative mind, and not one story is the same. I can say the only thing that stays the same is the fact you are guaranteed to want to be the woman dropping her panties for any one of the men of the month (did I say that )
If you want to feel the love of a hot guy through the good and bad emotions, this is a book you will want to read.
Morgan and Brody. Wow, what can I say? Their heat and passion practically melted my Kindle and I loved their flirty banter and laughed with them. It was such a feel good read with a total Alpha taking care of what’s his and stepping up big time. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book and the connection and love these two shared. It was well written, funny, witty, adorable and hot! I have a new favorite author and cannot wait for what comes next!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Each time I pick up the next Calendar Boys book I know that I’m in for one heck of a ride, and this book did not disappoint! I was hooked from start to finish and could not put this book down.
Right from the start these characters and the story line drew me in and had me dying to know what was going to happen. There was drama, suspense and some HOT steamy chemistry!
Once again Nicole has knocked this out of the park! A must read book for sure! By Alisa
This series makes me wish there were more than 12 months in a year! I have read all nine books and I have loved every one of them! Single Parent is one of my favorite troupes, and Nicole S. Goodin completely rocked this book! I cannot wait for Mr. October!
Yuuuum!
Broody Brody is super hot!
I love his protective alpha persona, it’s the perfect match for Morgan.
Lust, lies, love and laughs fill this quick and easy read. Super entertaining and another amazing addition to the Calendar Boys series
Loved! Loved! Loved!
This book is amazing, Mr September will win your heart!
Each book in this series, keeps getting better.
I love how each book is a complete standalone..
…each book is a unique and a different stories all together..
Do you believe in love at first sight? That’s what happenes when Brody saved Morgan from drinking a spiked drink in a bar. Attraction sizzles between them as he drives her home, and the text messages between them later that night are sexy and amusing. Imagine Morgan’s surprise the next day when she finds out that Brody is her teenage son’s new basketball coach and a famous retired player.
Morgan has shied away from men having been badly burned by her son’s father. She has brought up her son alone, and has a successful career but much to her son’s chagrin, Morgan finds herself wanting more and Brody is happy to oblige.
Suddenly sinister things begin to happen to Morgan and Nicole very successfully turns this love story into a thriller as we wonder who is doing this to Morgan and why? We have to fall in love with Brody as he is determined to protect her no matter what.
I felt this to be a little different to the other books in the series, it was not so light and fluffy but had more of an edge to it. I really enjoyed trying to solve the mystery, and I was certainly not expecting the ending. This book was really well done and definitely worth a read.
This series gets better as each month is added and this newest release doesn’t disappoint. Single mom Morgan gets more than she bargained when she meets Coach Brody and boy is their chemistry off the hook hot. I loved the storyline and how the characters evolve to so much more than I expected. Just the right amount of drama, danger, and heat level that made for an enjoyable read from start to finish.
I loved this new “Calendar Boys” story with the incredibly sexy basketball player who also is a true gentlemen. This story is well written and extremely captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed Brody and Morgs’ story! It hooked from the beginning when he cannot take his eyes off the beauty at the bar. After he stops the guy from drugging her you see the wonderful and enticing side of him. The attraction between them is instant and off the charts. I love the witty banter and dialogue in this story not only between Brody and Morgan but also Ethan, Liv and Adam. This is a fun story with some drama, emotions, twist, turns, great banter, humor, passion, steam and someone who cannot let go. Great story and wonderful characters!! This calendar is turning out great. I cannot wait to meet Mr. October!
Brody and Morgan’s story will have you spellbound. Brody sees a man drop something in Morgan’s drink and intervenes. From then on it’s history for this couple because they become inseparable. Someone is stalking Morgan giving her a scare and if that’s not enough, her ex who is also her son’s father makes an appearance to cause problems in her life. Will he succeed at breaking Morgan and Brody apart?

This was a really good sweet really fun read and while it is the ninth book in the series it reads as a standalone. I thought Brody and Morgan were great characters and were really great together and you cannot help but love just how protective he was over her. There is plenty going on in this book lots of drama but also lots of fun and steam too I really enjoyed it.
This was the first book I’ve read by Nicole S. Goodin and I highly recommend it I really enjoyed the book. The author did an awesome job with the plot, character and word building that I fell in love with the characters. I fell in love with Brady. Morgan and Brady are sexy together. Their chemistry is amazing! Brady is the protective alpha male wanting to protect Morgan, and Morgan is strong and independent. There was danger, suspense, drama, sports, laughter, and sexy romance. I could not put the book down and I suggest you grab a copy to find out their HEA you’ll be glad you did.

This may be my favorite month yet! Sports star hero and a single mom. How can you say no? Mr. September is so much more than that though. There is drama, suspense, steaminess and swoon worthy moments.
Brody spots Morgan across the bar and when he notices something suspicious, he jumps right in and becomes her knight in grey jeans. There is an instant attraction and instant chemistry between these two. Brody also turns out to be the head coach of her teenage sons basketball team.
I loved that Morgan was a super awesome single mom and that her son was a teenager. I love Brody, I mean how can you not?! He is super sweet, hot and not afraid to go alpha to protect Morgan. Morgan’s son, Ethan, provided a few laughs throughout the story. Much needed when it came to all the suspense in this one.
These Calendar boys are amazing and each month they just get better and better, but I think Brody is going to be a tough one to beat.
Brody and Morgan have a chance meeting at a bar when Brody rescues her. A little harmless flirting and he drops her off saying he will find her. Imagine their surprise when they meet again in the most unexpected place. Morgan is afraid to open her heart again and Brody is determined to win her over.
Oh Nicole has scored with Mr. September. Brody is a dream guy. I have loved every book in this series and I think I love each new month better than the last. The author gives us relatable characters and real life situations. This was a sit down and read in one sitting book for me! Anxiously awaiting Mr. October.
5+ Stars
What an intense read! Mr. September drew me in immediately and kept me reading straight through to the end. I think this may be my favorite book in the series yet.
The plot was interesting and suspenseful. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, holding my breath! I don’t know how I’ll sleep after this!
Morgan is sweet, caring, and a great mom. I love the way she handles her teenage son. I found her very likeable and relatable; she could easily be one of my friends.
Brody is kind, considerate, and a genuinely nice guy, the type who holds open doors for others. I love how good he is with the kids he coaches and how protective he is with Morgan. He’s the total package.
This is the ninth book in the Calendar Boys series. It can easily be read as a standalone, as each book features a different set of characters. I can’t wait for Mr. October to be published!
I’ve really come to enjoy the style of writing by this author. It’s witty, feel-good factor with a touch of suspense thrown in for good measure.
I loved that Brody was a knight in shining armour from the start. A good guy with an alpha edge.
I loved Morgan’s sassy side, but vulnerable when danger was at her door.
The dynamic of the three people in this relationship was great to read, which has a wonderful family element for Ethan that he clearly never had before.
Great read.
Mr September had me captivated from the very first chapter and falling hard for Brody Owens. You know it is a seriously great book when you are engrossed in the book with a huge smile on your face. It was hard to decide which of the main characters I loved the most, Brody, Morgan or Ethan. Be prepared because at times Ethan will steal the show or should I say story. It is a book that gave you sunshine and rainbows to warm your heart and soul but then had you on the edge of your seat with angst and drama. Mr September gave its all with passion, steam, romance, witty banter and characters that were so easy to fall in love with. Brody and Morgan’s story even had me shedding a tear or three. As the months pass it gets harder and harder to pick a favourite but I think and September just moved into top spot….. or at least until Mr October shows up.
Nicole Goodin doesn’t let us down in the 9th installment of her CALENDAR BOYS series.
Mr. September is a wonderfully written love story of a basketball coach and a single mom who meet by chance. When Morgan goes to drop her son for basketball practice she finds the mysterious man who saved her from being drugged at the bar she is shocked. When Brody turns to see Morgan at the gym before practice he smiles wide and tries to show off a little. Their relationship grows and stumbles along the way but will Brody’s protective nature be able to save her from a stalker and an Ex-boyfriend(who always gets in the way when she meets someone while he plays the field)? What happens to bring everything to a head? And will they catch the stalker in time before something bad happens?
Find the answers to these questions and more when you read this romance that has all the makings of a real life relationship.
The hot, hot month of September
I believe that Mr September’s story might be my best loved so far. Combining the sports star and single parent trope, it’s almost repetitive to say that Nicole Goodin has once again nailed it.
Told in my favourite dual POV, I love to see that her typical witty repartee between characters was ever present, and it seemed to really stand out for me in this book. Five chapters in, and I was sitting inside on a gorgeous winter’s day wanting to get this book finished in one hit. Washing for work be damned! I had a great book to get through!
Brody Owen was everything a perfect book boyfriend should be. If he’d arrive at my house on his unicorn that was farting rainbows, I’d be over the moon!! He was that beautifully written. He saved Morgan from a potentially dangerous situation, and continued to prove what kind of man he was, both to her, and to her son. I lapped it all up.
Ms. Goodin’s writing is solid, and I think it shows how much she’s enjoying getting her groove on with this series. I can’t wait for the next book to come out, while I also realise that there is now only three Calendar Boys books left to write.
I’m looking forward to those last three, and can’t wait for her next project. 5 Stars.
