“Sharp as an ice pick….You will love this excellent book.”—New York Times Book ReviewElmore Leonard is the undisputed master, the “King Daddy of crime writers” (Seattle Times), in the august company of the all-time greats of mystery/noir/crime fiction genre: John D. MacDonald, Dashiell Hammett, James M. Cain, et al. The creator of such unforgettable classics as Stick, Out of Sight, and Get Shorty… Stick, Out of Sight, and Get Shorty—not to mention the character of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, lately of TV’s hit series Justified—Leonard is in fine form with Mr. Paradise. A riveting Detroit-based thriller enlivened by Leonard’s trademark razor-sharp dialogue, Mr. Paradise follows a smart Victoria’s Secret model’s attempt to score big after surviving a double murder in a millionaire’s mansion…with a lonely cop acting as spoiler.

Elmore Leonard, what more is there to say.
Typically Elmore Leonard. Great characters, fast paced and believable plots
I’ve read many Elmore Leonard books, but this is by far the most humorous. The characters are great and the storyline was interesting.
As has been famously said, “If Leonard writes it, I’ll read it.” There is no exception and I’ve read them all.
Classic Elmore Leonard: Good-guy wannabes trying to find their way to doing right in a sleazebag world populated by shameless, scary socio- and psychopaths. The dialogue, in dialect, is uniquely, pricelessly Leonard. First-rate page-turner.
Typically Elmore. The endings always different, logical from his point of view and refreshing to read a book and not be able to predict the ending. I find predicting the ending the movies the same way. Hollywood doesn’t move from what works, I guess. But Elmore? In a class by himself.
Classic Elmo, his stories put you right in the plot.
Not as good as previous Leonard books. At times seemed to have gaps, but maybe that was because it didn’t keep my attention.
All Elmore Leonard books are fantastic, and Mr. Paradise is no exception. There’s a few unexpected twists and turns, as there always are, and all of them keep your interest. Well written, entertaining, and original.
Great book for a family vacation where readers’ are often interrupted.
Elmore Leonard had an ear for dialogue and a gift with phrasing that makes reading his works a total pleasure. I miss him.
A good story, easily understood, with interesting characters. A good beach read. While these characters do not rank with the best of the Elmore pantheon, the story is nevertheless well crafted, with enough plot twists to make it entertaining. I’m glad I read it.
It was typical Elmore Leonard. When I want a quick easy book to read I know exactly what to expect from his work.
I love everything Mr Leonard has ever written…what an amazing talent!
