My boyfriend is getting married.Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily ever after. On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen. But not today. Because not only is my boyfriend getting married—his bride is my best friend. And they’ve sent me an invitation. There’s no … me an invitation.
There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland. Nothing and no one could convince me.
Not even when a deliciously handsome stranger tells me he needs to go as my plus one.
Not even when he shoots me a wickedly, sexy smile.
But then he offers me the opportunity of a lifetime—a dream come true. How can I say no? I have one condition. He has to be my new boyfriend. I mean, my pretend new boyfriend.

Louise Bay’s books are filled with so much heart I just know she is a true romantic by the way she writes. There are many “be my fake date” books out there, but this one is fresh and original and based in Europe! I’ve never been personally, but through her words I feel as if I am there.
It’s no surprise because it’s written in the overview that our sweet Stella London has had her heart broken in two. Not just by the man she thought she would marry, but her very best friend. To top it off, she’s invited to their weeklong wedding in Scotland and that is where our dreamy Mr. Mayfair steps in. That’s not his name, it’s Beck Wilde, and he lives in Mayfair, an upscale town in the City of Westminster near London. I know because I looked it up! Ms. Bay is British and I so enjoy reading all of her word choices and how she weaves a romance.
This book is about two broken souls who are so perfect for each other. Stella was in an unhealthy relationship for years, and I loved how she came to realize while being with Beck her self worth and how very special she was. She was a class act all the way as well as gracious, selfless and kind.
Beck was protective and complimentary, and genuinely enjoyed her company, something he never thought he’d do with a woman. I loved how they got to know one another and how page by page, they each developed new professional and personal goals, as well as feelings for each other. They learned what is important and how to release toxic people from their life, and made each other truly happy and complete. Their alone times were super sexy and steamy too!
I loved all of their conversations and how honest and open they were so they could get to know each other better to play the ruse, and it was beautiful to read. I loved how they had each other’s backs, supported each other, and how in tune Beck was with what Stella needed. He made a sincere effort to get to know her friends, and never judged her once.
A self-made millionaire, Beck harbored great pain from his childhood and agreed to the charade so he could work a business deal. Beck was a non-believer in love and I so enjoyed getting to know his friends or mates as they would say in the UK, and all of their teasing, and hope that they each get a book of their own. Not sure if that’s in the plans, but I am suggesting it because I would love to read more of Beck and Stella!
The ending was just as I hoped it would be as these two were so deserving of love. If you like your heroes strong, smart and sexy, who fight for their lady loves, then Mr. Mayfair is a must read!
