My boyfriend is getting married.Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily ever after. On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen. But not today. Because not only is my boyfriend getting married—his bride is my best friend. And they’ve sent me an invitation. There’s no … me an invitation.
There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland. Nothing and no one could convince me.
Not even when a deliciously handsome stranger tells me he needs to go as my plus one.
Not even when he shoots me a wickedly, sexy smile.
But then he offers me the opportunity of a lifetime—a dream come true. How can I say no? I have one condition. He has to be my new boyfriend. I mean, my pretend new boyfriend.

Stronger together
Stella and Beck, two people desperate to be important to someone, and to have someone fight for them. What starts out as a simple quid pro quo soon turns into so much more. I adore smart, sexy characters, and Ms Bay comes out with guns blazing on this one! Not only do Stella and Beck burn up the pages, their fierce intelligence and understanding of each other is the stuff of legends.
I loved every minute of this!
What can I say, Louise Bay does it again with another great romance that is about 2 broken people who have to learn to trust each other.
Beck Wilde is a man on a mission – he needs to meet the owner of a people that Beck needs to acquire for both professional and personal reasons. The man’s goddaughter is getting married and Beck knows if he can score an invite to the parties during the week of the wedding he will be able to talk to him and convince him to sell Beck the building. The problem he doesn’t know anyone going to the exclusive affair that is until he tracks down Stella London the only singleton who is going. Now if he can just meet Stella’s demands which include being her fake boyfriend for the week he just may get what he wants.
Stella London has been invited to ex-boyfriend ex-best friends wedding and she isn’t sure she should go. When a total handsome stranger bursts into life asking to be her +1 Stella doesn’t know what to do. Then she knows that this just may be the opportunity she has been looking for – as long as Beck pretends to be her boyfriend and gives her the job of her dreams. What Stella didn’t count on was real feelings coming into play – she is just not sure she can trust herself or Beck.
What I love about Louise Bay and her books is her terrific character development and the world she creates. Not only do we get to meet Beck and Stella – Beck has 5 best friends that I have a feeling we will be seeing again in the future. Beck and Stella are complicated vulnerable characters that dont even realize what they are missing until they are standing in front of each other. The dialog is great and the back dropped in Scotland and England which I loved. This is a book that I know I am going to want to read again – probably sooner rather than later.
Excellent Must Read Fake Boyfriend Love Story!
A deal is struck, they just had to follow through. Stella’s heart was broken by being sideswiped and betrayed by her ex boyfriend (she didn’t even know was her ex) and her best friend (that is now an ex) when she gets an invitation to their wedding only after two months of being separated from her boyfriend. She has no intention of going to this wedding, I wouldn’t either if this happened to me, but Beck makes her an offer she can’t refuse. He just didn’t know it would be a mutual agreement that lead them both to love.
This book encompassed so emotions and then described the many differences in peoples takes on what Stella should do compared to what they think she ought to do. Beck stands up for her because he can’t stand that the same circumstances happened (in a way) to his mother. But Beck also falls in love with Stella because she tells him what women really think and doesn’t care (because of her devastation) what he thinks. But they soon realized that they are perfect together.
Well written for encompassing two countries even though they are so close together in the EU. Well written explaining all the heart break Stella went through when she was betrayed by her ex’s. Well written in explaining how a man, who doesn’t have time to even return his current girlfriends calls, is only focused on his work and life goal. Well written in explaining all the feelings and emotions from each side of the thin line between Love and War/Hate. Louise never seems to fail to make your heart soar with each new story!
Sophisticated and eloquent writing!
Beck and Stella were EVERYTHING! I truly felt like this was so real and genuine. I hated finishing this one.
I’m a sucker for feel good, fake relationship romance.

This is another great read that I could not get enough of once I started. Stella and Beck had chemistry despite their relationship starting out as a fake relationship. Their story didn’t feel like the cliche fake relationship type read and was a truly enjoyable read. I loved watching Stella gain her confidence despite the situation of the wedding that she was attending while watching Beck fall for Stella despite his feelings about relationships. Their story moved along well and I could not get enough of their story once I started reading it and I would recommend this book to others.
I cannot be more excited about a new book by this author. It looks like an amazing series perhaps about different and very appealing British hotties
The man himself is introduced as keenly ambitious, and slightly indifferent to women beyond mere accesories. She, on the other hand, is in the middle of heartbreak, which he makes use of to swoop in and push his plans even higher up in the ambition sky.
I loved how desperate yet deviously smart they are when they strike the deal that binds them. Together on a mission to realize their dreams which I found really appealing. He’s got a personal reason beyond financial gain, and with the help of another smart friend she’s also taking the reins of her life. So stimulating!
This fake relationship mixed in with business goals goes through very tantalizing phases. First, he is all smooth control and she is in emotional turmoil at betrayals from loved ones. Then, the funny adventure of faking a romance starts. Beck is a confirmed bachelor, though contrary to Stella I do get the car thing. Would love a flashy sports car for myself They exchange information about themselves and I liked so much finding out who they are as persons, not only a couple. The friendships he has and how he makes them come out as really spectacular, and it might mean the seed for an exciting new series about this hot men?
As our characters get more intimate, emotionally and physically, they shed a new light on their deeper motives for this pact, on their core. Like a metamorphosis, they open up to a side of themselves that had been denied. I think they find trust. I enjoyed how smart and funny they act, how protective of each other. Passion is fiery, watch out!
The English landscape and the traditions of old money shine during this wedding setting and ornaments this couple’s path as they inadvertedly fall in love. It’s real and slow-burn in the feelings department until it really explodes both in heart and flesh. Even when they stumble over doubts that they can have the ultimate prize. They truly find themselves at the end of their journey, and it is gloriously romantic and sweet. Lovely story.
Beck and Stella are hot, hot, HOTTT!!!!!
Louise Bay ALWAYS hits the mark on sexy AF Heroes, and she writes the most brilliant storylines!!!!! She is a phenomenally talented author!!!!
If you are a fan of the fake relationship trope, you will enjoy the newest one by Louise Bay. It is sweet and funny with well developed characters. Very enjoyable read.
Ladies your going to just love Mr. Mayfair!
Stella London gets the shock of her life when she receives a wedding invitation from her recent ex boyfriend Matthew and her best friend Karen. Determined she is not going to attend the wedding until she meets Mr. Mayfair in the form of Beck Wilde, he offers her an opportunity that she finds so very hard to refuse as it’s just what she needs to get her life back on track. Beck quickly sweeps her off her feet as they become caught up in their fake romance, but while putting on a show for others they both start falling for each other and it becomes hard from them to decipher if things are real or fake between them.
As far as fake marriage stories or a marriage of convenience goes, Louise Bay has written a brilliant take on this trope, she has created a story that is not only interesting and engaging but you really get to feel all the hurt and emotions that Stella goes through. The poor girl goes through so much emotional heart break while putting on a brave face so that she can keep her end of the bargain, she is such a strong likeable character and even though she is clever, smart and beautiful she still is little naive and people around her take advantage of that. Beck even though he is in the dark for most of the story about the hurt that Stella is going through, he still steps up to the mark and swoops in just when she needs someone to rescue and protect her. What else can I say other than I totally fell in love with Beck, he is so emotionally separated from wanting to have a real relationship with anyone but his character’s personality is so warm, caring and funny that he was for me the perfect book boyfriend, i’d even say that he is swoonworthy!!
Stella and Beck have great chemistry, the sexual tension between was intense. They were the perfect couple and their story was such a pleasure to read. The writing was just so good that I felt myself being consumed by the story. Louise Bay has written another amazing romance that is definitely one of my favorite stories to have read this year and it’s now in my top 5 best reads of 2019.
This is a cracker of a romance and you don’t want to miss getting to meet Mr. Mayfair!
This book is written in true Louise Bay fashion. We have one handsome and knows-what-he-wants hero and a heroine who has lost her spark but with the help of the hero she finally starts to see her worth.
I loved how quickly they hit-off despite how they met and came to be together. It never an easy situation when you discover that the people who you would die for betray you and put you firmly on earth. But I loved how much Beck was encoring Stella to make her feelings know and in return how she helped him get what he thought was the most important thing to him.
This story was not filled with all consuming lust (there are plenty of hot and steam moments do not worry) but more of a friendship that transformed two individuals into soul mates.

Stella is almost the complete opposite of my personality, so it was really fun stepping into her mindset and venturing to new ways of thinking. Some people might have seen her as weak, but to me she was strong. Beck is just.. I can’t think of a good enough word for him! I’d let all of London watch whatever he wanted to do to me. Lol. And while the burn started slow… like a forest fire, it quickly spread and consumed everything around these characters and me. Oh, and that ending was everything I could have wanted. Louise gives us such great characters that you won’t want to say goodbye to! I’ll definitely need to revisit them
In the future. I can’t wait for Dexter’s book. Hopefully we’ll get more glimpses into Beck and Stella in his book too.
Louise Bay totally nailed this delight fake relationship tale. I loved everything about Beck and Stella’s story. From the beginning everything felt real and honest and nothing about them felt forced. Louise’s words had me completely entranced with them, so much so that I did not want their story to end. This sweet, sexy read is unmissable.
The developing bond between Beck and Stella was so captivating. It may have started out as a mutually beneficial business arrangement for both of them, but it was wonderful to see their personalities and feelings grow the more time they spent together. I loved the flow of the story, even the ups and downs felt real. Louise really invests in her characters personalities and although they were very different in that respect, I thought they made a great pairing. The positive effect they had on each other was just lovely. I particularly liked Beck’s sense of humour and the sprinkling of humour throughout this story had me smiling and laughing more than once!
The story is dynamic, it’s emotional and at times, raw. It’s witty and it’s captivating. I have always adored Louise’s writing style and it was even better in Mr. Mayfair. She has a way of getting you totally hooked in her stories. No doubt is Mr. Mayfair one of Louise’s best books up to date!
With Mr Mayfair, Ms Bay brings us a delightful slow burn of a romance which I enjoyed enormously. The fake relationship trope can be hit or miss for me, but I’m more than pleased to say, this was a definite hit.

This author really invests in her characters’ personalities and although they were very different in that respect, I thought they made a great team. I particularly liked Beck’s sense of humour and in fact the sprinkling of humour throughout the book had me smiling and laughing on more than one occasion.
For me, the slow burn was perfect and ensured that they were friends first and foremost, each with a good amount of respect for the other. This gave them a solid basis for a relationship that wasn’t simply based on mutual attraction. Don’t get me wrong, there was most definitely an attraction there and nothing was held back in respect of the bedroom shenanigans, which had me more than just hot under the collar!
Mr Mayfair has its roots in the heart of London but from there, we are taken on an amazing trip to the Highlands of Scotland. As Ms Bay is a British author, her stories clearly benefit from her own experiences and wealth of information when it comes to the places she writes about. Her wonderfully descriptive writing will have you longing to experience the history of those places for yourself.
You won’t find a great deal of angst here, beyond the basis for the story. It’s a lovely, sweet, feel good romance with hugely likeable main characters and a great cast of well developed supporting characters too. Each have their own unique personalities, both good and bad, which add balance to the story and I’m certainly hoping we hear more from Beck’s friends in particular in the future.
So, truth? This is my first book by this author, but in no way is she new, I’ve heard raving reviews about her work, and I kept saying “she’s my next read” and as it happens, I kept getting swamped with a million other things to read, and now I’m kicking myself that I hadn’t started soon… Mr Mayfair was something else. I went into this book expecting one thing and got the complete opposite, and in no way am I disappointed in that.
Stella and Beck’s story was nothing short of amazing and adorable and swoony with a few twists thrown!
Stella thought he and her now ex-boyfriend just needed space, needed time to adjust to their new life, but oh how wrong she was… it had only been a short two months when an invitation to Matthews wedding lands in her hands, to none other than her best friend, Karen… a best friend who has been in her life since they were kids, was not only dating her ex-boyfriend, the man she thought she would spend the rest of her life with… she was about to marry him! To me? I’d of ripped her best friend to pieces, alongside Matthew… how could your “best friend” even do something so heartless and the fact that she didn’t even tell Stella they were dating in the first place… but to me that turns out to be a blessing in disguise …
Beck? Hot as hell estate developer looking to snatch up a dream come true. The only issue is that the owner doesn’t want to sell, and the owner is none other than Karen’s uncle, and Beck needs a way into this wedding, and Stella is the key to that! But will all go to plan? Or will he be blindsided by this woman and everything he thought he was doing this for being turned upside down? Will he be able to get that plus one spot, and will his attraction for Stella get in the way of his plans?
So many questions were popping up the deeper I got into this book. The more answers I got the more questions popped up. These two were perfect for each other. Beck wasn’t the usual type of hero I love in a book, he wasn’t an overbearing asshat and I loved to hate and hated to love, he was sweet, he wanted Stella, he wanted to show her that she’s perfect in every way, even with that fact that her dumb ass best friend now ex boyfriend betrayed her doesn’t take that way from her and even though these two were “faking” it, he saw things in this woman that she struggled to see herself, and he pushed her beauty, her kind heart and her Self worth… he pushed her to see everything he was seeing within her…
And what starts out as something agreed upon and fake, takes a swift turn.
Throughout the book these two were perfect for each other. Their witty little fights and banter only proving to me that they were perfect for each other, and that their chemistry was in full force.
But will they be able to see what’s right in front of them? Will they end up being the ones with the happily ever after… again, so many questions, and there’s only one thing I can tell you.
READ THE BOOK.
This book will have you on epic rollercoaster of emotions ranging from joy to pain and betrayal. It literally holds ALL THE FEELS and I couldn’t help but fall deeply in love with this books, the couple and everything about this book.
Highly recommend it! You won’t be disappointed!
This was my first book by Louise Bay, and it’s definitely NOT gonna be my last!!
5 stars!
If you have ever been cheated on by a boyfriend, you will agree with Stella. It can be devastating!
She thought they were taking a break after seven years in a relationship. She had given up everything for Matt. Even moved to London and given up her interior design company in order to follow him to his new job. And now, only two months after they separated… HE IS GETTING MARRIED TO HER BEST FRIEND!
Beck has been after Mr Dawnay for months trying to buy his building in Mayfair. The complex Beck wants to build is contingent on acquiring this building. If he is unable to secure this acquisition, he will lose ten million pounds! He is set on winning and in order to get close to Dawnay, he devises a plan where Stella will open doors for him in order to approach Dawnay on a personal basis. Stella is invited to the wedding from hell and he is willing to go as her plus one. Win/win right? Never underestimate the deviousness of some people!
Entertaining and engaging, Beck and Stella are the perfect characters to follow during this journey to moving on and creating a new future.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
I think what I liked most about this fake relationship romance was that I could connect with it so easily. I mean, let’s face it, we all go through those times where everything is going wrong and you are trying desperately to convince yourself that things have to get better and yet the punches just keep coming. That is exactly the position Stella finds herself in. I’ll be honest and say that initially I felt that Stella was too niave and as such, I thought she was a bit annoying. Yet, as the story unfolded and I got to know her better I genuinely grew to like her. She deserved better than what she was getting and fate finally smiled on her and sent her all the perfection that was Beck. Beck was one-hundred percent ovaries exploding, be still my heart, swoon worthy deliciousness. These two were so sweet together. She was everything he wanted, he was everything she deserved but most importantly they were everything the other needed. I found that it was simply impossible not to fall in love with these two as their slow burn story played out. This was a amazing read!
I loved Beck and Stella right from the beginning. This book was so good considering I only slept for a few hours. I mean what could possibly go wrong when you’re faking a relationship? Really enjoyed watching them grow as a couple.
I loved loved loved Mr Mayfair.
The story was funny, cute, hot, romantic and I couldn’t put it down. I started it last night and when the cat woke me at 4am to be let out I even squeezed in another few chapters.
The characters were so relatable despite me being both poor and old I cant wait to see if some of the other characters get their own stories!
This is a pretend relationship romance. It’s not something I haven’t read before but the author makes it work. It has it’s own unique take…
To be honest, I didn’t like Stella much at first. I kept on thinking, no one is that naive or clueless? But I’m glad she’d grown a spine in the end…
Beck and Stella’s story is sweet, swoony and sexy.
Reading the book would make you realize that it’s okay to choose yourself, to love yourself first… to not let others disturb your peace… and that, it’s okay to take risks and to balance your heart and mind.
To the fans of Monica Murphy, Winter Renshaw and Lauren Blakely, this is the book to pick up next.
I loved Beck!!!!!!!! Stella was hurt by her best friend and ex-boyfriend but Beck without even knowing helped her out. They met when Beck needed an “in” for a business meeting with someone Stella knew. She was very hesitant at first but then they worked out a deal that was a win win for each other. Everything started out as fake but they didn’t meant to develop real feelings. Stella self esteem wasn’t the highest but Beck showed her her real worth. He literally had her on a pedestal and so did his best friends. Her friend Florence was funny and always rooted for Beck. These two were made for each other.
