My boyfriend is getting married.Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily ever after. On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen. But not today. Because not only is my boyfriend getting married—his bride is my best friend. And they’ve sent me an invitation. There’s no … me an invitation.
There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland. Nothing and no one could convince me.
Not even when a deliciously handsome stranger tells me he needs to go as my plus one.
Not even when he shoots me a wickedly, sexy smile.
But then he offers me the opportunity of a lifetime—a dream come true. How can I say no? I have one condition. He has to be my new boyfriend. I mean, my pretend new boyfriend.

This book was well written with a great plot and great characters. This was yet another hit from one of my favorite authors. There’s a reason why I always read her books.
Beck and Stella, our main couple, were just lovely and had excellent chemistry. They kept me entertained from start to finish. Beck was especially adorable. It was so easy to fall in love right along with Beck and Stella. The side characters were warm and funny. They were good for lots of extra laughs and words of wisdom. I loved nearly everything about this story.
There was a couple things I would have liked to see done differently but nothing to make love the book any less. I wish Stella had stood up for herself more with the ex-boyfriend. Also, there were a couple parts of the intimate scenes I found to be a little unrealistic but that could just be me. I don’t know everything there is to know. Lastly, while the author clearly wove Beck’s back story into the book, Stella’s background was less detailed.
Regardless of my opinions, I would recommend this book and the author to all. I’m giving this book 4.5 stars.
Mr. Mayfair by Louise Bay is a standalone, contemporary, fake relationship romance told in first person, dual POV.
Stella London is shocked when she receives an invitation to her exboyfriend’s wedding. Sure, they’re not together… but it has only been two months, and she thought they were just taking a break. The worst part of this betrayal is that he’s marrying her best friend. How could this be happening? How long have they been seeing each other? And why would they even invite her? Stella is determined not to have any part in it. She can’t support their union, it’s humiliating. That wedding is the last place she wants to be.
Beck Wilde has been trying unsuccessfully to meet with a businessman that he knows will be attending a wedding. He needs to get himself invited so that he can approach him and try to secure this deal. So he makes Stella a proposition to be her plus one. Initially, she’s not interested. But Beck is wildly successful with very deep pockets and he’s willing to give her anything she wants in return. Eventually, they come to a mutually beneficial business agreement. What could possibly go wrong?
I loved Stella and Beck’s story! They were both great characters – likeable, flawed, and well-developed. The chemistry between them was fantastic. I enjoyed the secondary characters too. I’m hoping to see some of them again in future books. The story hooked me from the start and I found it difficult to put down. This page-turner was fun, sexy, and romantic. It’s the first book I’ve read by the author and definitely will not be the last. I loved it!
Stella’s ex-boyfriend is getting married to her supposed best friend… a few months after he broke up with her. The kicker, they invited her to the wedding. Stella is utterly heartbroken believing that there was a possibility that he may come back. She isn’t even interested in entertaining the idea of attending… until Beck comes along.
Beck needs to buy a building, one that has personal meaning to him. His only chance to interact with the owner is to go to a wedding that he isn’t invited to. Getting a list of women that are single, he searches out Stella for an invite.
Entertaining the possibility of attending comes with some favors… Stella will get her decorator dream job and Beck has to pretend to be Stella’s boyfriend who is madly in love with her.
But what happens when it doesn’t feel like its pretend anymore? And what happens when the week long wedding celebration is over?
Definitely one-click this now.
Loved it and couldn’t stop reading it. I can never stop reading your stories they are like a life like. I feel like they are happing right in front of me when I read them.
Louise Bay is one of my go-to authors and Mr. Mayfair is now one of my fave books by her. You fall in love with dreamy Englishman Beck and root for him and Stella to get their HEA from the get-go! I love Louise’s writing style and now she’s made me want to go to Scotland! Highly recommend this yummy read!
Louise Bay delivers another hit in this light, funny, romantic, sexy fake relationship romance that delighted me from beginning to end. This book hits all the right places and there are a few twists you don’t see coming. It has a ton of feels. Beck is swoonworthy, sexy Brit who knows what he wants and how to get it. Stella is a little broken but seems to be trying to get her groove back. She sees and opportunity and seizes it. What ensues is an unlikely love story filled with sizzling passion and the possibility of many things. This is a must-read. I can’t wait to see what Louise Bay has in store for us next!

And it’s official: this is my favorite book by Louise Bay!
This is a fake relationship romance and I don’t think I ever loved this trope so much as I do now.
Stella is facing one heck of a humiliation. After loving and nurturing his boyfriend for years, even without realizing they were indeed over, after only two months, she receives a wedding invitation of dear boyfriend and aleggedly best friend.
Being devasted, confused and humiliated is an understatement.
Beck, in his own way, is also familiarized with rejection since his birth, and Stella’s ex is exactly the kind of person he wants nothing to do with.
But to right some wrongs and to feel better again, they need to join forces and face the wedding from hell….as a couple.
The deal is quite simple: they pretend to be a couple in love, she eases him to get the property he needs, and in exchange he helps her build her business again and face the evil groom and bride.
It could be easy, if it weren’t for the demon-couple getting married and their feelings getting in the way.
They were both burnt deeply, they are afraid of letting people in (with good reason). But more than that: after spending time together, they are scared of their feelings for each other.
Their connection and chemistry come so naturally. They have an easy banter, as if they have known each other for years. They truly enjoy each other’s company, they root for each other, they bring the best out of each other and they amazingly respect each other.
This book brought such a sensitive topic about abusive relationship. Stella was abused for years by both Matt (her ex-boyfriend) and Karen (her so called best friend), but not phisically, so it was way harder for her to realize she was being abused and belittled.
But being with Beck, even if by pretending at first, showed her what a respectful relationship is suposed to be like. And what started as a pretend turns out to be very real.
It was so pretty seeing Beck and Stella together, how they cared about each other so deeply. One’s fight was important for the other, and the other’s hurt was a fuel for the one to make things right.
They were a match, they fit, they were right for each other. They faced their fears and insecurities because they knew some things were worth fighting for and there were prizes you just couldn’t let go.
My heart is still fulled and I miss this characters already (I just hope we get to see Beck’s friend’s stories and then we get to see Beck and Stella again…one can hope!).
Goosebumps, laughter, holding your breath – this book has it all!!!
Louise Bay is a wizard with words! I love her fluent writing, so you always want to keep going but at the same time you don’t want to miss a single word.
And the characters she created!!!! OMG- I actually can’t believe they are just fictional characters, they are so, so real!!!
I loved Stella from the moment she got the news! She gets a punch in the face from two people she loves (and trusted) and takes it with so much poise! She picks herself up, grabs life by the balls and makes the best of it. I love, how she is so matter-of-fact, down to the point but still has a great sense of humor and doesn’t take herself too seriously. She goes after what she wants, but at the same time she cares a lot about the people around her. She is exactly the person I would love to be best friends with.
And then there is Beck….
He is like a hot brownie with a melted core and whipped cream on top – and probably some chocolate sprinkles too!!!
He is the cool guy with a good heart, solid character and the looks of a real man. Confident, driven, passionate but at the same time sensitive and he picks up on the smallest things. He is perfection!
And then there is the chemistry between these two! Sizzling, hot chemistry! I can’t even tell how often my hair stood on end while reading this book!
I can’t believe it is over now, maybe I should start my re-read right away! I can’t seem to let go of these two… I really, really loved this book! If you love a good love story, you should definitely not miss out on this one!!!!!!
First off, let me start by saying how honored I am to have had the opportunity to read and review a novel by Louise Bay. She is one of my favorite authors and has been for quite some time now. I read Park Avenue Prince in 2017. After finishing, I bought every single one and read them in succession. I was so hooked! So, to have the honor of reading a Louise Bay novel before the masses is not lost on me.
Now for the review, you call came here for, Mr. Mayfair. She has written another attention-grabbing, enthralling, and charismatic novel. I loved Beck from chapter one. He is a hard-working and determined man with all the sex appeal needed to be the total package. Stella is also hard-working and determined but she has hit a snag in her life that much dread. Beck makes her an offer she can not refuse and the rest makes up the story of the year.
Bay’s writing is fun, flirty, steamy, jaw-dropping, and honest. Well, Mr. Mayfair is no different. She has done it again folks! Bay cranks out five-star books like they are candy and we eat them all up. This story was hard to put down because I had to know what happened next and where these two ended up. The ending was sensational and tied out Beck and Stella’s story quite lovely. If you love Louise Bay, what are you waiting for? One-click this one now!! If you have never read a Louise Bay novel before, one where have you been, and two one-click this one now!!
I love romances with a big city vibe, and Mr. Mayfair by Louise Bay has all that and more. This book primarily takes place in London, and the views from the penthouse are simply amazing. The two main characters, Stella and Beck, come together to further their respective careers, and end up falling in love. This book may be enjoyed as a standalone.
Up until two months ago, Stella was content, living with her boyfriend of seven years. Stella is a giver, and puts everyone and everything ahead of her own happiness. So imagine her surprise when she receives an invite to her ex’s wedding! And her ex is marrying her best friend! Stella just thought they were taking a time out from each other. Nevertheless, she was terribly hurt and sad. She even gave up her interior design business for her ex, when they moved to London for his new job.
Beck is a very successful businessman. Despite his humble upbringing, he is loaded, thanks to his real estate conglomerate. With the exception of one neglected building, he owns the entire Mayfair area. Buying the vacant building has become both a personal and professional goal. Getting the building owner’s attention has been next to impossible, however, attending the wedding of the owner’s relative is the “in” he needs to start a conversation. Meeting Stella and convincing her to take him to the wedding is a hard sell, however, she agrees to it when he agrees to letting her design his newest building. They truly get to know each other while spending a week together before the nuptials.
Although this story got off to a slow start, I really enjoyed it. Ms. Bay does a nice job of introducing and developing the characters. Stella and Beck are a delightful pair, both in and out of the bedroom. Their sexy times are hot. Overall, a solid read with a wonderful epilogue.

This was a great read by Louise, I was thorough engrossed from start to finish, the characters are perfect for each other, the story line was fabulous and the with and banter will make you chuckle, and I love the locations where the story is set, all in all a fab read!
Stella has been broken up with her boyfriend for two months, still thinking they would probably get back together, until a wedding invitation arrives…… her ex is marrying her best friend!!! To say she has the stuffing knocked out of her would be an understatement!!!
Beck is a property developer and is after a certain piece in Mayfair for personal reasons, but the owner refuses to meet with her and Beck is on a deadline. His game plan… to go as a plus one to a wedding where the owner will be and he can meet with him there. He finds Stella in the invite list as a single woman and sets about making plans to get her to invite him.
Of course Stella has no intention of going to the wedding, but after running into Beck and gives her a proposition of ‘whatever she wants’ so he can go with her, she decides that she wants a job working as a designer on the property he is after (her secret passion, she hates the job she is doing), and that he must go as her fake boyfriend.
Proposals made and accepted, but they know nothing about each other and set about spending the next two weeks together in order to learn about each other and pull off the wedding trip. The more they learn about each other, the easier the friendship becomes, the better they fit together…. fake relationship they were trying for, but the learning was so easy between them, full of banter and wit, no putting on a show or trying too hard, and this is what made the story for me, it was a truly lovely thing to watch their relationship grow and flourish without any pretence.
A fab read, highly recommended.
Exciting Rom Com from Louise Bay! This book will make you laugh from start to end! Stella needs a date for her ex, yeah you heard right her ex boyfriend wedding! Beck, well he just needs to be at the wedding so he could make a deal on a property thats been in his family years ago. What better way to pull this off by going together as a fake couple?!
Beck and Stella made the perfect couple, both characters were so easy to fall in love with! This is the perfect love story. Go grab your copy now and thank me later….you’ll enioy this perfect read!!!!
I’m a big fan of Louise Bay, everything she writes pulls you in and immediately captures your imagination. For me Mr Mayfair is her best work yet. Beck and Stella are just perfect for each other.
Beck Wilde is a property developer and is determined to get his hands on a property in Mayfair which seems just out of reach.
Stella London gets the surprise of her life when an invitation arrives inviting her to her ex boyfriend and soon to be ex best friends wedding just a couple of months since they broke up.
When their paths cross, what starts out as just a means to an end soon turns into something more.
A fantastic story that I would highly recommend.
Mr. Mayfair is one of the most swoon-worthy stories I’ve read in a long time. A hero not to caught up with himself. A heroine funny and willing to take as much as she gives. A disaster wedding week and a building off the block take two strangers to a cross roads they never expected.
How often do you find unabashed millionaires in stories? I swear every time his grin or smile was described I wanted to grin that wide myself. It just made my heart happy. He was so fierce and loyal, but not full of himself at the same time. He saw Stella’s worth from first glance and fought for her the way a real man should.
Stella? Just her name made me smile. I really just loved her name. And her personality just fit the name perfectly. She just needed to see that men could be more after being with her ex tool of a boyfriend!
These two fit together like a puzzle. Piece after piece became a picture we all love to read about. And let me tell you something, these two were hot, hot, hot. Lots of face fanning here. I loved Mr. Mayfair and can’t wait to read Dexter’s story next. Bring on the guys stories, I’m ready, willing and able!
5 Beck Filled Stars!!!
Woohoo!!!! This is the next grand slam from Louise Bay. Every new book she releases is better then the last and that’s hard to do since I’m in love with EVERY book she’s put out.
Stella and her boyfriend had taken sometime apart. They’d been together for awhile and Stella thought he was just nervous to get engaged and take the next step. She figured once he calmed down things would go back to where they were beforehand.
Then two months later she gets an email invitation for one of her best friends. Stella finds out through an invitation that her friend is marrying her ex-boyfriend. Stella is completely blindsided and the ground shakes below her. The last thing Stella wants is to ever see them again and then walks Beck into her life and the aftershock of the first ground shake begin.
Beck has more money then he knows what to do with. He wasn’t born rich. Instead his mother was kicked out of her home when she became pregnant. Beck made something of himself from the ground up.
Now that Beck is where he wants to be in his career there’s only one thing he needs to do. He needs to buy a building to complete the latest overhaul. But, not just any building. This building has a meaning to him and what he wants it to knock it down to the ground and start up. Except he can’t get a meeting with the owner.
Beck will do anything in order to get what he wants. He finds out his time is limited before its lost for good. The owner will be in Scotland for a wedding and Beck just needs a way in. He asks Stella to help him. He’ll give her whatever she wants if she’ll take him to the wedding with her. Beck wasn’t expecting Stella to demand a job and for them to fake being in a relationship.
Both Beck and Stella went into this as a means to an end. As a way to get what they want. What they ended up with was more then either of them ever could’ve expected or ever wanted.
This was such an amazing story!! I loved loved loved Beck. Stella got on my nerves for awhile but in the end I liked her. I’m over hoping all Beck’s friends get a book bc Omg I loved them!!!
This story and it’s amazing supporting cast of characters made this book so delightful to read. The fake relationship with a dash of rom-com was absolutely on point. Beck Wilde and Stella London’s love scenes were insatiable. Beck brought out the sexual goddess in Stella she never knew she had within herself. Their sexual chemistry was undeniable. They needed something from each other but they discovered so much more along the way. Absolutely amazing love story!!!
So let me start by saying that this particular trope, fake relationship/boyfriend/fiance, etc is not my usual go-to; it’s really not my thing.
But hey, it’s Louise Bay we’re talking about here. She’s one of my FAVES and so I trusted her in taking me in a journey and making me a believer in the “fake” trope.
Well, I’m happy to report she made me a believer and then some! My goodness, this book was fantastic. I loved the main characters, Beck & Stella. Their chemistry? Off the charts. Their wit? Well, they’re both British so duh! That’s a given!
It was sexy, it was funny, it made you think and root for them, and ultimately, they were made for each other.
Highly recommend this book!
More then just a romance book.
This book was enjoyable.
It took me a few chapters to get into the story but once I got past them everything started to come together and it was fun to read!
All the Feel Goods!
Holy Mr. Mayfair! He’s absolutely delicious and sexy as sin. Beck is beyond charming and I can only imagine his accent melting the panties off any woman! Including the one and only Stella!
At first I was worried that Stella wasn’t gonna have enough of the fierce force of nature she throws at Beck when it came time to actually defend herself but I’m glad to say I was proven wrong; she came in like a wrecking ball and jaws definitely dropped! I seriously loved that about “Mr. Mayfair” was the fact that every time I thought I knew how things would play out I was wrong and it’s a breathe of fresh air!
The chemistry between Beck and Stella is cataclysmic and once they realize the pull and sizzle between them it’s unstoppable! There are so many things to say but not without giving too much away but this is most definitely worth the read!! Loved it; bloody Fantastic!!!!
Stella and Beck’s story really hit all of my emotions. Stella is the kind of person who gives so much to others that she loses sight of what she truly wants. Losing Matt which caused Beck to come storming into her life was the best thing that could have happened to her. This story gave me every feeling and I fell head over heals for this couple and became extremely protective of them and the devils that are Matt and Karen. This was a fantastic read and I loved every minute of it. The storytelling is spot on and the story pulled at my heartstrings. Great read.
