My boyfriend is getting married.Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily ever after. On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen. But not today. Because not only is my boyfriend getting married—his bride is my best friend. And they’ve sent me an invitation. There’s no … me an invitation.
There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland. Nothing and no one could convince me.
Not even when a deliciously handsome stranger tells me he needs to go as my plus one.
Not even when he shoots me a wickedly, sexy smile.
But then he offers me the opportunity of a lifetime—a dream come true. How can I say no? I have one condition. He has to be my new boyfriend. I mean, my pretend new boyfriend.

I liked the story line and characters. Realistic
great!
Mr Mayfair is a great start to the series of a group of friends who have known each other most of their lives. This is Beck and Stella’s story where they fake date to wedding of her former longtime boyfriend and now, ex best friend. The two have an chemistry so the fake dating isn’t hard to sell.
I loved Beck. He’s a total English gentleman with a dirty side. He’s a great friend and good guy. Stella is a sweet woman who learned her worth through this story. She was a people pleaser her whole life but Beck made her see that she’s more than that. The story was great, fun and steamy.
Shane East was perfection, per the norm. He’s one of my favourites so it’s never a hardship to listen to him. Saskia Maarleveld is a new to me narrator and she was great. I can’t wait to listen to more stories narrated by her.
Loved, loved, loved this book! Very well done! I cant wait to read the rest of the “MR” books
Mr Mayfair
Louise Bay
Gosh I’ve had this sitting in my kindle app first long, and have no idea what’s taken me so long to read it, now I’m kicking my own ass because it was great! I do love an alpha male, and me Mayfair himself, Beck Wilde is all that and more. I’d wish his heroine, Stella London was a but more brave, but the story kept me captivated over a few very difficult days!
When Stella discovers her ex boyfriend is matching her best friend, she’s shocked… the break up was only a couple of months old and she always thought, Matt would be her forever. The news of their impending nuptials are one thing an invitation to a week long event is another. While devastated and humiliated, she has no intention of attending and seeing her future move on with someone else…
Estate developer, Beck Wilde needs to secure a building in Mayfair to move ahead with his new project, problem is the building is owned by a man Beck hasn’t been able to get a hold of. He needs an in, a way to meet the man, push for a sale, and get the contract signed. His new in… the wedding of his god daughter, Beck needs an invitation, and he gets that by offering Stella the opportunity of a lifetime… She threw everything in when she moved to the UK with then boyfriend Matt, now she’s working in a crappy job, desperately needing cash to pay the mortgage she’s been left with. Beck Wilde might just be the perfect side fling!
A weeks “holiday” to meet Henry Dawnay, comes with plenty of pros, the man is gorgeous, he’s string, he’s sexy, he’ll be there to hold Stella up, but what starts a business transaction turns into a sexy hit few days together, as the contract lines blur, Stella discovers that losing Matt was the best thing for her, and Beck is her way into the future!
Another wonderful read from Louise Bay!
Reviewing as I read it. So far I am really enjoying it. Her ex BoyF and BFGrilfriend are as privileged as their upbringing (no offense to privileged people, but these 2 give all you all a really bad name). She doesn’t sound nearly as privileged and I find myself really hoping she finds being around ‘new money’ people much more to her liking. Yep, I am rooting for the guy who needs the introduction and is ‘using’ her to get it (with her knowledge). Ok, completed it. Likely to re-read this one in a year cause it is THAT GOOD. I laughed and cheered them on. I normally skip sex scenes but these are so well written that I actually read them. There were not to many of them and they did advance the story cause her BoyF was such a dud and Mr. Mayfair is HOT! The ending had really good development! Kudos to this author!
Louise Bay hit this one out of the park. I loved Stella and Beck. Unputdownable romance perfection.
This is the 1st book I read by Louise Bay. I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 3 because it didn’t grab my interest.
Rating: 3.5 stars
So here’s a quick drive-by review, folks. I read this book as part of an eight book bundle of suit wearing hotties (The Suits Boxset). But, of course, it and the other seven books are available for purchase separately.
Beck, the hero, despite his past knucklehead, completely clueless when it comes to being in a selfless love relationship and workaholic ways history, really was Stella’s savior here. Even better he did so by mostly just having her back, listening, and letting her come to her own realizations and dreams. Not that he wasn’t more than willing to throw a punch or two on her behalf, if she’d only just let him. You see, this gal needed to grab a mental life line to move on from a mind blowing breakup that shattered her world and trust. Beck was like the pirate captain of a ship fate sent sailing by looking for bounty to loot, yet finding her the ultimate prize instead.
I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of the man Beck was first presented. Nope, his narcissistic history had him pegged as a heart breaker himself. Not until he clearly started demonstrating he really was changing because of Stella that I swayed to his side.
Stella was trying to be strong, but I found her simpering, wimpy, and too accommodating at times. She got in her head and heart where she needed to be eventually though. So good for her. Some may even welcome and fully embrace the gracious vibes she always gave off.
Color me crazy, but I find it unlikely Stella would have been sent the invite to begin with. But I rolled with it. Surprisingly, this main couple’s romance unfolded without a lot of unexpected events. Numerous, lengthy, very graphic, play by play, touch by touch, “Oh, Beck! … now!” (eye roll) scorching hot steamy scenes did kick in after these two fated to be together lovebirds spent some time together. I unashamedly started skimming those to give them privacy.
Parts of the story were predictable and even stereotypical, but I enjoyed it all the same, especially gloating more than just a little that Beck became a much better man because of Stella.
Title: Mr Mayfair, Series: The Mister Series (Book 1), Author: Louise Bay, Pages: 318, stand-alone but part of a series, reformed thought he’d never marry workaholic hero, down & brokenhearted heroine fighting for her future, very lengthy, graphic smexy scenes, rather uneventful, predictable read for me.
Book 1 – Mr. Mayfair
Book 2 – Mr. Knightsbridge
Book 3 – Mr. Smithfield
(I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not compensated or rewarded in any form for this review.)
My first book Mrs. Bay left with craving more of her books.

Let’s talk about “Mr Mayfair by Louise Bay”.
I’m obsessed with this series. I know that I started with the second book, but I needed to read this one, because attention: the third book is on its way!! Is there anything to dislike? NO! Hot and fun British heroes and sassy and wonderful leading ladies. Other thing, there is this bromance between the guys friends that I love, they are like brothers without matching DNAs. It didn’t hurt that I also listen the audiobook and let me tell you: Shane East voice here made me weak in the knees!
What would you do if after 2 months after dumping you, your ex-boyfriend of 7 years, sends you an invitation to his wedding with your “best friend” since you were 5 years old? I’d seriously make rain fire in their parade. That kind of betrayal! Anyway, Stella was set in stone that she wouldn’t attend their week celebration wedding events. But when Beck shows up with a proposition so he could attend the wedding with her and close a deal, she had two conditions: 1) she would be the interior designer of his development and 2) he would go as her fake boyfriend. She couldn’t change the past, but she could change her future!
The level of adoration I have for Beck and Stella is from another world. They just fit together brilliantly. Both had something to overcome in their lives and I loved how they help one another, opening their minds, protecting and finally loving each other. It was a growing relationship and I was happy that they would anything for each other. The twist was a little obvious for this kind of trope, but I love it because it wasn’t overly dramatic. They were perfect together and the end proved this!
I love that the audio brought another dimension for this story, especially with the steamy scenes, holy mamma mia! I want to listen more books with Shane, that voice!!
Audio Review
OMG! I’ve got to say that the combination of Louise Bay’s words and the narration team of Shane East and Saskia Maarleveld is just epic.
The premis of this book is a bit strange. I personally find it inconceivable that any woman would attend the wedding of a very recent ex and a woman she considered her best friend!
However Louise Bay manages to sell this story, oh so beautifully, and I beg you to find anyone who doesn’t believe that Stella gets the better end of every single deal!
Stella and Beck were perfect for each other. Stella needed someone to love her and help bring her confidence back. Beck was struggling to reconcile with a his childhood and also how to actually form a meaningful relationship. Eventhough it was supposed to be a fake relationship, from the start it wasn’t. They both cared about each other and was there to support, and protect each other. Stella was treated horribly by her ex boyfriend and supposed bestfriend. Happy she and Beck found each other, they are just beautiful together. I absolutely adored Florence, she’s exactly how a bestfriend should be. Another Louise Bay bestseller. Shane and Saskia narrated seamlessly and beautifully. I enjoyed their performance.
**spoiler alert** I loved this book.
The story was not at all predictable, although I did know that the business deal would turn in to more from the start.
The characters were believable and their stories were too. I felt for Stella having had to endure the ultimate betrayal and not wanting to open her heart again. But she knew she couldn’t let Beck go when their deal finished. I liked that he had her best interests at heart over his desire to complete the building sale.
The story had my attention from start to finish and I read it in a day. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait for Mr Knightsbridge!
Stella is gobsmacked when she receives an invitation to her ex-boyfriend’s wedding to her best friend. They only broke up two months ago. So to say she is shocked and hurt is an understatement. Beck is determined to have a meeting with an owner of a property that he must acquire so that he can knock it down and guild luxury apartments. His way in to meet this land owner is to be Stella’s plus one at her ex’s wedding. Beck has to convince Stella, a complete stranger, to be her plus one at a week long wedding event that will only be heart break for her. But everyone has a price and Beck is willing to pay Stella’s price.
I am generally not a huge fan of the fake relationship trope because all it takes is one conversation that no one wants to have to clear the air up. It annoys me a little. This one I didn’t really have time to be annoyed with that because I was too busy being annoyed with how hung up Stella was on her ex and how much she kept comparing her ex to Beck. I get that the break up was fresh and that was the premise to the story and her issues but it got to be a bit too much. I like to see growth and change and development and I didn’t really see that since she was always hung upon her ex. So much so that I never felt her connection to Beck grow. Their first intimate scene seemed to come out of know where to me. It was hot don’t get me wrong but it felt off to me. I didn’t see them at that place yet. However, Beck is freaking amazing. I loved everything about him and all that he did for Stella. Of course it was selfish at the beginning but he was always so good at doing and saying the perfect thing at the perfect time to set Stella at ease. He was beyond amazing and he didn’t even know how good of a boyfriend he could be since he hadn’t met Stella yet. And the epilogue – loved it!
This is my second read/listen to this book and it was the book that made me follow and read books written by Louise Bay. It has everything I love about contemporary romance – humor, finding true friends, fake relationships that blossom into true, lasting love, self-discovery, and overall wonderful writing! My favorite part is when Beck finally realized that he can’t bear to lose Stella and he proposed his love for her in the London Design room. Melted my heart!
What a fun story to read. I loved the chemistry between Beck & Stella and that the story took place in London and Scotland. It was fun to read the British humor. The story is sweet and sexy, at times you will swoon and other times you will giggle. Certainly a fun read.
He’s desperate and she’s heartbroken. Maybe they can help each other out. Beck Wilde has an agenda but needs some help to get what he wants. Stella London may be the key to his success. Being invited to her ex’s wedding is a nightmare but going may be the answer to getting her life back on track. Of course showing up with a new gorgeous boyfriend certainly will help. What starts out as a business arrangement turns hot and heavy. Priorities change when love comes along and Beck and Stella get their HEA (with a few missteps along the way. )
An incredibly enjoyable read.
