He is powerful, older and my boss, a lethal combination.Job satisfaction has taken on a whole new meaning. When I lied on my resume, I didn’t expect it to matter.I mean any child would love me; I was born to be a nanny.I applied for a position working for a woman, or so I thought. But Julian Masters is definitely all man…the kind you dream of licking chocolate from. The first day was bad. The kids … from.
The first day was bad.
The kids were the spawn of the devil and I spied through a window and caught him doing something obscene…. and equally fascinating.
The second day was worse, he caught me snooping in his bathroom cabinet in my skimpy pyjamas and all hell broke loose.
On the third day, I ran over him in a golf cart.
And by day four I had decided that I wanted that chocolate…all of it.
Melted….on me.
But intelligent, widowed Judges don’t fall for ditzy nannies.
Or do they?

I love this author I have read all the books I can find by her. I would recommend this book highly
Couldn’t put it down!! Great read!
Each and every book from Swan has left me feeling the same. Completely satisfied yet heart broken that it came to end. I try to find this balance with good books where I tried to not read fast enough to make the story last, yet slow enough to devour each and every minute, every moment and every drama that goes on in my head. But authors like Swan make it impossible to find this balance.
This was the best Christmas. I spent my time with Julian Master. He is, well is simply delicious! he was the right kind of perfect for me. He’s troubled, older, and a sex God! what’s not to love about that? Brielle, she tripped me out. very outspoken, she cant lie. she called it as she saw it. But she was exactly what the Master family needed.
This book is perfect. its funny, insanely Hot, filled with emotion and troubled hearts. it was a great mix that made the story perfect. I was not excepting this story to go as it did. all I knew was Judge and a nanny, older men an young girl. and knew I needed to read this!!
Swan has become one of my top favorite authors for 2018. every book from her has gave me the best reads, best escapes. she different. in her writing style and the direction she takes in her stories. ALL her characters are the best. I have yet to pick which is my favorite, they ALL are.
Totally recommend any book from Swan, but Mr. Master is a standalone and simply one of the hottest, crazies men you’ll love.
Schizophrenic book. FSOG meets Mary Poppins.
This is Mary Poppins Nanny SWAT Team meets Gideon Cross/Beautiful Bastard etc and all the other Nanny (Secretary)/ Billionaire books. I know, barf.
The Old, Regurgitated and Not So Good:
1. Julian, the hero, is your Grade A dominant, emotionally shutdown jackass because of his wife’s death.
2. He has a really big…bank account among other things.
3. He’s emotionally distant with his children.
4. He has emotionless sexual transactions because…See #1.
5. The H and h enter into a no-strings relationship/friends with benefits/ etc because they are sooooo attracted to each other and the sex scenes begin.
6. Terrible cover. It should show the sassy heroine because it’s ALL about the heroine.
The New and Fresh:
Bree says fie to his bossy ways.
“I get in the front and slam the door hard.
He opens my door. “Don’t slam my car door!” he yells.
I open it and slam it again… harder.”
2. The H’s daughter is getting bullied. Turn the other cheek is not a concept the h embraces.
“I will do nothing of the sort.” I point to the mother. “But I’ll tell you what I will do. If your evil daughter comes near Willow again, I will have her charged by the police for harassment and assault.”
The mother gasps, and the other parents all stop to listen to what’s going on. “Why, that’s ridiculous,” she cries.
I turn to the blonde bully. “Go near Willow again, sweetie, I dare you.” I sneer. Her eyes widen in fear.
“Miss Brielle!” Mr. Masters snaps.
“Who the hell is this?” the mother asks snootily.
“I’m your worst nightmare. Now get a leash on your girl before I involve the police.”
3. The h embraces the craziness of life.
“I look over and see a man in a navy polo shirt who kind of looks like him. He’s taking a shot with his club. “Shit, is that him, Will?”
She sits up and narrows her eyes as she studies the man in the distance.
“Look out!” Sammy yells from the back seat. I snap my attention back to the path to see Mr. Masters standing directly in front of the cart. I swerve, trying my best to avoid him, but it’s too late, and I hit him full force, running him over. The cart bounces twice as he goes under the wheel. I screech to a stop.
Holy. Fucking. Hell.”
4. She has a spine and knows how to articulate her unhappiness with his asshole ways when he takes her to a dinner event, ignores her by talking to another woman, and, worse, pretends he’s giving the nanny a thrill by taking her out.
““What are you doing?” he asks.
“Packing my stuff.” His eyes roam over the underwear on the bed.
“You have a date tonight?”
“Yes.” I continue looking through my drawers.
“Where did you meet him?”
“None of your business. Get out.”
He exhales heavily. “Can we talk about last night, please?”
“No.” I bend and begin to look through my shoes in the bottom of my walk in wardrobe.
“I didn’t want anyone to know that we were together.”
I throw my high heels onto the bed with force. “We’re not together.”
“She’s just a girl that I work with,” he adds.
“I don’t care who she is. This isn’t about her.”
He puts his hands on his hips. “What is it about then?”
My eyes rise up to him. “You can’t be that fucking stupid.”
“Try me.”
“This is about you and your inability to communicate.”
“I communicate,” he hits back, outraged. “I communicate very well.”
5. And, shockarma, his parents are nice and think she’s just the kind of girl to help the H get a grip.
“Why don’t you go and ask one of the desperate, dateless soccer mums to go dancing.” I pretend to watch the game. “Or Strawberry Shortcake. She’s always up for a good time.”
He narrows his eyes, knowing exactly who I mean.
“Who’s Strawberry Shortcake?” his mother whispers under her breath.
“Julian’s rude work friend.”
“She’s not rude. It was a business meeting,” he defends.
“She’s more than just the nanny,” I offer sarcastically.
Julian fakes a smile.
“I’m lost,” his mother whispers, thinking only I can hear.
“Who’s stupid?”
“He is,” I reply. His father smiles at the field, entertained by our conversation.
“Oh, because putting the jerseys in the dryer is so intelligent.” Julian sneers.
I glare at him and squeeze his mother’s arm. “I’m sorry, but in Australia, we can put our jerseys in the dryer. I’m not used to these United Kingdom inferior products… or men.”
His father chuckles again as he looks at his phone. “Oh, I see. Strawberry Shortcake is a doll from the eighties with red hair.” He holds the phone out to show us. Julian rolls his eyes, and I bite my lip to hide my smile. Has his father really being googling Strawberry Shortcake all this time?”
Judgment:
I guess it’s no secret that characters and books that make me laugh get more of a pass than angsty and manipulative tearjerkers or angsty and sexually driven dom fests. The heroine is a 5 star mouthy, irreverent game-changer that’s saddled with a been there, done that emotionally crippled billionaire. Unlike all the other heroines that fall to the sway of a rich, older man, Bree is seriously unimpressed with the hero’s wealth or his wealthy status and all the baggage it brings. Desperate housewives and yummy mummy stalkers are nothing to this girl. I loved her. That said, the book is all over the place in whether it wants to be another FSOG knockoff with tons of sex or a great story about a bright woman that comes in helps a family heal.
My first word after finishing was fanfuckentastic. It was so good. Miss Swan writes long story and with my attention span I don’t usually like long story because they tend to be pages and pages of unnecessary (imo) dialogue which doesn’t add to the story. But no worries here at all, it is long but she somehow seems to be able to keep it interesting which is not an easy feat. Mr Masters is a complicated character, he’s a widower with two children. Enter the nanny Brielle, I don’t even know where to begin to explain Brielle. My fave thing about her is her fearlessness, she’s so ballsy, sassy, hilarious and just a loving person. I won’t divulge anymore, you just need to read it. Well done Miss Swan this book was fanfuckentastic.
5 Star Perfection!!!
Another brilliantly put together masterpiece by the artist of words TL Swan. I totally devoured this book, I could not put it done!!!
TL Swan has an amazing ability to create characters with depth and substance that you just want to know more about. You can tell she does her homework and leaves nothing in the tank when she writes and gives her everything for her readers and for that I am truly blessed and forever one of her number ONE fans!!!!!
Julian is such an intense character and loved to see him switch from hard to soft with both his children and Brielle.
I loved Brielle’s line ‘Dancing with an honest devil is so much more appealing than sleeping with a lying god’.
This book delves into some very personal and hard subject matters but they are portrayed and written about with honesty and class but still making sure that they are not just swept over.
You will laugh, you will cry but most of you to will fall in love with the characters and the story and if you haven’t read anything else from this author before, I suggest you don’t hesitate and get onto it now!! T L Swan
Wow. I’m a HUGE T L Swan fan. I mean huge. Read every single thing of hers. Love them all.
This one. Mr. Masters. The Judge’s Nanny.
Julian and Brielle. Holy everything.
To say I loved these characters. This story. The book. Would be a massive understatement
Brielle cannot run into her ex anymore. Her bff Emerson gets her to do this job placement gig in London. Getting them out of Australia and away from their toxic exes.
Judge Julian Masters. Widow. 2 kiddos. Who are just awesome. He needs a nanny.
Bree has never nannied before but loves kids. She also thinks Julian is a woman. Imagine her shock when they show up at airport and her ride is male. Julian is a dude and she’ll be living in his house taking care of his kids.
Eeepppp.
Chemistry is off the charts from the beginning despite the 13 year age gap.
I loved Brielle’s blunt honesty, and embracing the fun life approach. This family needed that in the worst way.
I adored Masters and how he loved his kids so much and how the relationship developed with Bree.
I completely, 1000%, highly recommend this book.
Words to describe the book:
Sexy. Hot. Steam. Emotional. Nice twists and turns. Great dialogue. HEA, no cliffhanger.
Read this one. Now you won’t regret it.

Oh my lord can TL Swan write! Mr. Masters is a super sexy story that will have you falling in love with Julian Masters. TL Swan has a gift of writing multidimensional, swoon worthy men. Julian is a late 30’s, widowed, father of 2. As with her leading men there is so much more to him than what we see at first. As the story progressed I felt like I was getting to know him layer by layer until I completely fell for him. I always want to be the leading women in TL’s books. Brielle I adored from the beginning. We were introduced to her in Find Me Alastar. She is a sassy, strong, intelligent woman with a big heart. I don’t want to give spoilers so I’ll just say of course their story has ups and downs. I laughed out loud at their banter and cried at their heartbreak. Highly recommend!!
Finally, a book by T.L. Swan in which I didn’t hate the hero after I finished reading, and I LOVED the heroine!! FINALLY! The last two books I read by her, (Dr. Stanton & Marx Girl), I absolutely despised the heroes, especially in Dr. Stanton. And the heroines in both Dr. Stanton and Marx Girl weren’t much better. But here in Mr. Masters, I loved Brielle! She’s sweet, funny and determined to be happy. Poor Julian comes across as an absolute dick at first, and for much of the story, but he’s just really a damaged soul and Brielle realizes this, so she cuts him some (a little) slack.
Mr. Masters is a super steamy, angsty af, fully developed story that I really ended up liking. I’m hoping more of T.L. Swan’s books end up being more like this and less like Dr. Stanton and Marx Girl.
Wow where to even begin! I loved this book! It was way more than I expected, so much emotion and heat! Julian is a conundrum, I loved him and hated him at times. Bree was the heart of this story. She is exactly what this family needed and so much more! She is their Light. Willow stole my heart and Sammy was a sweetheart. This book was well written, I got lost in the story, everything flowed beautifully. I feel like the end came together all at once but I know that’s me being selfish and wanting more of these wonderful characters. This author was new to me and reading this book makes me want to devour everything else she has written!
Oh my. I didn’t know what to expect when it came to Mr Masters but I fell just as hard as Brelle did. This is a tale of a broken man and a women who is all sunshine and rainbows. Add in some awesome kids, kinky sex and a beautiful romance this story suppressed my expectations. Of you read Find Me Alastar then you know some of the things that happen in this book but seeing them first hand and really connecting with the characters was a journey in its own. I’m not even sure what to say. There’s not a lot of ways to express my self when it comes to this book. I wanted to cry, I laughed and my heart fleas full by the end. The author has put in the front of this book that there will be another Alastar book and I can tell you that I am really excited about that. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I LOVED this book. I could barely put it down. Brielle and her best friend travel from Australia to the UK to work. Brielle’s there as a nanny, although she’s never been one before, not that her future employer knows that. She thinks she’s there to work for a woman and finds out that instead, her employer is a sexy, aloof, cold and handsome older man.
He’s a widower. Not interested in getting close to any women, and really only has friends with benefits or pays for sex. Brielle is like a breath of fresh air in the household. Julian’s 16 year old daughter who is angry at the world, comes to love Brielle, as does little Sammy.
Julian treats Brielle like she’s an airhead for a while until he discovers what she was back in Australia. She is a very bright and bubbly, enthusiastic, life loving kind of person though. The kind of person everyone loves.
The story was highly entertaining. Some funny moments with Brielle and the kids. She’s not the shy retiring type that’s for sure. Finally unable to fight their attraction Julian arranges meetings for them so he can separate the nanny from the woman he desires.
The story is a roller coaster ride of emotions with Julian fighting his feelings since he fears anything related to relationships, and Brielle being the champion of mothers to his kids. Great story. Highly recommend.
This author is one of those authors that you have to freaking read the book. No amount of reviews can explain how much you feel when you read one of her books.
I freaking lol, I was heartbroken, I wanted so smack Julian a few times and I wanted to just hug him. And then there is Bree, she was so full of life and she was the light hearted to Julian’s darkness. Julian total alpha male hard working and mostly bitter single dad. And the chemistry between him and Bree holy hell of the charts.
I loved every character in this book and it really kept me glued from the start to the finish. When I got to the end I wanted to read it all over again.
Couldn’t put it down. Stayed up all night reading wondering what was happening next.

“This is the beginning of a wonderful arrangement.”
Powerful words that describe the complexity of grief, turmoil, sadness and the ever-loving fight to let love back into our hearts. Letting a spitfire of a storm break down our walls and shatter what we know in life, shatter our comfort zone all to let a new light shine in it’s destruction.
The chemistry between Julian Masters and Brielle Johnston in Mr. Masters by TL Swan is complex as it comes; Boss vs. employee, he’s rigid vs. her care-free of life, nurture vs. disciplinarian; the list goes on… but the ultimate question is will the impenetrable walls of Mr. Masters ever fall to let happiness and love in? To have a normal life after his late wife passed away.
I feel like this book could have been shorter and not so drawn out in length, but looking back and having time to reflect, we wouldn’t have had so many ups/down, highs/lows to witness the struggles of emotions between the two.
“Do you want to dance with the Devil?”
Mr. Julian Masters is one broody, arrogant, regimental man. He likes his life one way and isn’t too happy when Bree makes a mess of it. He feels if his emotional walls come down even a smidge to let happiness in, the hope of his perfect life will be taken away. Bree spins his world on his axis and everyone around him sees it but him.
TL Swan really captures the underlying qualities and characteristics between these two people. You grasp what’s at stake and hang on with so much hope that all will be well in the end. I really enjoyed this story. The push and pull was very entertaining and the romantical side was steamy as ever. This is one novel you don’t want to miss out on.
Amazing read. TL Swan has written another great story, one that hooks you and reels you right in. Definitely couldn’t put it down.
Mr. Masters by T L Swan is the story of Brielle Johnston and Julian Masters. What is you have is a steamy, angsty Older man, younger woman troupe that is set to send pulses skyrocketing. This is one of those reads that will speak you to, call to you long after the story is over. Brielle Johnston and her BFF Emerson, yes The Emerson from Find Me Alastar, are new in London. They have come over from their home country of Australia to spend 12 months on a working holiday in which they “find themselves”. They left behind great paying jobs to do this and the girls found jobs working for different people- Brielle gets a job working as a nanny for Supreme Court Judge Julian Masters. She is nanny to his 2 children. Julian is this steamy, handsome man in his late 30s who makes Christian Gray look wet behind the ears. He has this brill wit, definitely knows how to flirt sexily with Brielle and making sinning fun. Brielle is this ray of sunshine in the kids’ life. She immediately sees things aren’t good at home and goes about trying to fix them, including their sinfully handsome but bitterly hard father. Julian is a man who shut himself down inside after his wife dead several years before. He doesn’t do relationships, just one night stands and hookers. Yet when Julian meets and interacts with Brielle, he wants her. The sexual chemistry is off the chants insane-like super insanely good!! Only problem is Julian doesn’t want anyone knowing their employer- employee relationship has passed the boss stage and gone into dangerous territory where they are seeing each other, sleeping with each other and doing things that normally Julian wouldn’t have done before. Brielle finds herself coming to care for the kids deeply, and to care for Julian but he is so emotionally repressed that he doesn’t want to admit he needs and wants Brielle in his and his children’s lives. He just wants to keep things going the way it has been. Will Brielle be the one to break Julian and show him what love can do for him or will Brielle end up unemployed and broken hearted ? This is an amazing story, with emotions and intense chemistry running rampant. The ending was beautiful and just was one of my favorites by this author!!
My Rating: 4.7 stars *****
