Interesting spin on Pride and Prejudice. Whereas Lizzy didn’t ride horses in the original story by Jane Austen, she adored horses and racing in this novel. Mr Bennet passes away and the Bennet women move to a manor close to Pemberly. There Lizzy and Darcy grow a close friendship but Lizzy’s racing to support her family throws a wrench into their romance.
I was SO looking forward to this book, but I’m sadly disappointed in the story and character development. It just didn’t make sense to bring in the whole horse-racing aspect.
Of numerous Jane Austin variations this one had some real surprises. Great read.
good read
Original Pride and Prejudice story line. Fun, short read.
The book was good, but she changed the Jane Austen characters too much for my taste.
A different twist to pride and Prejudice.
Good but not great
I enjoyed this alternate story of P&P. The author had Jane Austin’s voice down. will read more of her work.
Interesting and entertaining redo. Not the same old
Not crazy about this. I’d rather read Pride & Prejudice itself than a retelling.
Very intriguing, a wholesome read.
Interesting version based on known characters.
I love the Pride and Prejudice variations and this is one of my favorites. It is very different and you get more of the other characters in a very positive way. You will enjoy it.
This is a sweet variation with all the most loved characters from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. It has a decent storyline, making it an enjoyable, fast read.
