I’ve loved every minute of this world and the three adorable little towns that surround Lantern Lake. This installment is no exception.
In this one we get to know Jemma and Kevin better; if you paid attention, you may already know them a bit from appearances in their bestie’s / siblings’ books. Jemma’s highly relatable for me, as a fellow workaholic, so that was fun. And there’s some added crime-drama thrown in, keeping me on the edge of my seat.
A super fun read, and very sweet.
4 stars.
Wonderfully fantastic… The book was amazing… It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it… The characters and their personalities match them perfectly… The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing…

Jenna doesn’t think she is the person she was in in high school anymore, and her old high school flame doesn’t seem to recognize her after their first encounter. But appearances can be deceiving. Will grandma’s meddlesome matchmaking actually come in helpful this time?
Fun, lighthearted, holiday read. It did have a few of the usual tropes – such as the misunderstandings caused by lack of communication but hey, that is part of why we read these, right? It is a good example of the genre, a cozy read for a chilly night with a good twist at the end and a satisfying happy ending.
Some of the events in this book run parallel to other Lantern Lake books and there is a large overlap of characters. Reading the previous books adds depth and appreciation to this installment, but it also works well as a standalone.
Gemma moved back home. She sees Kevin McAllister at a holiday party and he doesn’t recognize her. She used to have a crush on him. Then she ends up working for his family at the same place as him. To make matters worse, she tries to keep away from him because they hit it off at the party and he is relentlessly pursuing her. Fun and exciting story

Lantern Lake series, book five. Like the other books in the series, this one is an adorable and charming read. The characters are easy to fall in love with, the story line flows smoothly and draws you in from the first word to the last word. A heartwarming story that’s perfect for the holiday season. A favorite author and favorite series to add to my bookshelf.

Flirting fun
This is the first story I have read by this author, so obviously, I read this as a standalone. After having read it, and some of the other reviews, I feel compelled to read the others that came before it.
Jemma and Kevin share some great moments in the story. There is an undeniable attraction, but will a lack of confidence in the past get in the way of moving forward?

As with all series, I recommend that you read the first 5 books first (in order). This book can be read as standalone but I think books in a series are meant to be read in order. That being said, this book was really good and I can’t wait to see what else happens in this series.

Jemma and Kevin share a few dances, but he doesn’t know who the beautiful mysterious stranger is. Jemma had a crush on him in high school and doesn’t want him to know she was once a chubby teen. Like the other books in this series there were plenty of funny lighthearted moments. It was great to catch up with the characters from previous books, but it wasn’t necessary to read them to follow this one. Kevin was the goofy ball in those books and he’s still one, but with a softer romantic side that isn’t above using Jemma’s matchmaking grandmother to get what he wants.
Loved this story between Kevin and Jemma, second chance/ small town romance. Kevin and Jemma have liked each other since high school however neither of them knew the other felt the same way.

ONE OUTSTANDING ADVENTURE!!!
Crap on toast! Gretchen blows through like a thief in the night, blazing a path so luscious and thrilling, running rampant, riding roughshod with such unbridled gusto, mixing it up and propelling this little gem to life beautifully. Seizing the moment, traversing the trials and tribulations, revving up a bounty of plot twists and sleek turns, fusing this baby together flawlessly. Deliciously enticing scenario’s that punch dead center with such exuberance and style, thrusting this gem into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, blasting it into a tailspin with shocking results. The chemistry and attraction is undeniable and palpable, transforming into an unbreakable bond. The personalities are well matched and blended with just enough flaws for diversity. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and colorful descriptions so rich and lively, they blend and flow magnificently. Remarkable job Gretchen, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
