Layton: As a biker, I’ve always loved the open road—and no man ever compared. I’ve mastered the quickie, the one-night stand, and I’m not into changing things up. Why mess with perfection? When I roll into Snow Lake to take over my uncle’s mechanic shop, the last thing I want to do is settle down. Until I lay eyes on Grayson, who is not the kind of man suited for a one-night stand. He’s domestic … one-night stand. He’s domestic as all hell, running his bakery and doing cute sh!t with his son all damn day. Not. My. Type.
But I can’t take my eyes off of him. Every time I see him, my heart pounds; I go weak in the knees. I dream about holding up a ring, and making him mine forever.
I never wanted this life—I always thought it was a trap. But Grayson, gorgeous and kind, is giving me a sweet tooth for his baked goods and all his other delights.
I just might want to make a home on this road where I’ve landed. If Gray is with me, I might fall in love with Snow Lake after all.
Grayson:
My partner left the minute Harry came into our lives. Ever since then, it’s been me and my boy, all on our own. I didn’t want to be a single dad, but Harry makes it all worthwhile. Sure, I’m not going on any dates, but romance can wait. I’m done with the heartbreak of losing my man, and I’m not pulling Harry into any relationship that won’t last forever.
That’s why Layton comes as a surprise. He’s everything I never wanted—a bad boy with bedroom eyes, and thighs muscled from gripping his motorcycle. He keeps showing up in my nighttime fantasies—and at my bakery every morning, looking like he wants to take a bite out of me.
When I slip up and let him get a taste, I know he’s all wrong. I can’t keep a man like Layton happy, and I need him out of my life for good. It’s too bad because I was a little bit in love.
I never imagined it would hurt so much to leave Layton behind—or that my sweet boy would want to have Layton around. Layton keeps telling me he’s for real, that he’s in this for keeps. I’ve never been the kind of guy to take a chance, but maybe this is the time to give it a try.

Who would have thought a baker and biker would find romance? Especially when the baker has a seven year old son and has always lived in one small town. The biker has wandered the country playing in bands and living the life of a tumbling stone. But all this changed when the biker’s uncle turned over his mechanic shop and gave him the opportunity to settle down and join a community.
A sweet romance with lots of love, sweet boys and lots of wonderful baked goods!
Motorcycles and Macarons is the first book in the Hearts of Snow Lake series by author Ashton Cade. This is a sweet fast-paced story with characters I cannot wait to know more about. This book is written in dual pov. Personally I take a lot of books in dual pov, I like being able to get into both character’s minds and feelings. This Pov really allows that.
Layton is moving to Snow Lake. He loves being in a new place. A fresh start is just what he needs right now. His uncle Joe had unexpectedly given him his garage and the home he has over it and then moved to Florida. He is afraid to start dating in Snow Lake he doesn’t want small-town stereotypical behavior to start.
Grayson, he lives across the street from the garage. He has a child and his partner has left him. He is a good man with a kind heart and great kiddo too.
Overall this is a fun easy read. I cannot wait to know more about Snow Lake and those that live there. This story made me smile and want more.
Five Shooting Stars
A cute story about second chances… and third and fourth too. A small town, two cute guys, kids and several neighbors, motorcycles, macarons, some other pastries and whatnots. It’s a very entertaining story about discovering and rediscovering yourself, forging new paths and personal development above all. A piece of good writing!
A love story between biker and a baker, and everything in between!
Layton inherited a business from his uncle and he is trying to make a go of it, in a new town. He is a rock musician and a biker. Grayson owns a bake shop and is a single dad. His husband left him when their son was born.
What could they possibly have in common? This is a sweet story of two people hoping for different things in their lives. Finding out that they are not totally different from each other at all and realizing that what they have been looking for is already right in front of them.
Sweet characters, Harry is adorable. This is an easy to read, sweet love story, just at the right pace for a small town setting. I love it!
I hadn’t read a lot of Ms Cade writing before, but it will change after this book. The love story between Layton and Grayson is interesting, cute, sweet and easy to read. Layton is changing his ways and when he met Grayson gave him the final push to make him commit with one person and think in having a family. Grayson doesn’t trust easily but Layton earned his love and trust getting finally a nice HEA. The book is all about love as the main motor to change and how all deserve happy endings in life. Great book!! Also, as the start in the series, during the story you’ll meet characters for the next books. YAY! I can’t wait!!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
I absolutely adored this latest story in the new Hearts of Snow Lake series!!! Grayson has been through some crappy stuff in the past couple of years thanks to his ex…the silver lining in all of that was his son. Layton is new to the area taking over his uncle’s shop. He is a nomad likes having no roots and being able to roam free. He is fascinated by his new neighbor Grayson but he is everything that Layton is not and tries to avoid. Eventually even Layton can’t deny the pull to the attractive baker and gives in. Their romance is a slow burn but it doesn’t feel drawn out…its perfect for them and let me be honest here it is hot to read!! I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it to all. I am a huge Ashton Cade fan and she has knocked it out of the park with this book and I can’t wait for the next book in this amazing new series…well done!!!
Motorcycles and Macarons is a really good start to this new series by Ashton Cade. We get the commitment resistant bad boy and the single father whose guard is up because of being abandoned by his ex. I enjoyed watching these two grow closer and overcome their personal issues and believe in love.
I thought this was a long angst, sweet and heartwarming read with great secondary characters that I can’t wait to read their stories as well.
